Are Matt and Marilyse together?

Married At First Sight’s Yorkshire couple Matt Murray and Marilyse Corrigan announced they had broken up last month. And now Marilyse Corrigan has revealed that her “needy” former partner Matt Murray made her “feel on edge” during their relationship, The Mirror reports.

  • The 38-year-old mother-of-two from Beverley, appeared on Married At First Sight (MAFS) in 2021 and Matt Murray, 32, from Huddersfield, who appeared on the show last year, revealed how their bonding over the show led to a blossoming romance between them.
  • READ MORE: BBC Hairy Bikers Dave Myers and Si King have fans ‘crying’ after duo issue 7-day warning But the couple have now decided to call quits on their relationship.

Marilyse took to her Instagram Stories to reveal the news to her followers. She said: “I’ve received multiple messages asking if Matt and I are still together. Out of respect to you guys and the support you’ve given us, of course it’s only fair to be clear. MAFS Marilyse has broken her silence on her split from ‘needy’ Matt as she says he made her ‘feel on edge’ (Image: Instagram) However, Marilyse has since admitted the relationship became too intense for her. She also claims Matt would “question” her over her perfume and outfit choices.

The personal trainer told new! magazine: “Matt likes to have all of your attention when you’re in a relationship with him. He was needy and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t be his all the time.” “I wouldn’t call them red flags, but there were times when he’d question me about silly things – things that were unnecessary – and then question me about them again.

So I started feeling on edge around him.” In response to Marilyse’s claims, Matt told the Mirror: “I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the comments made about me by Marilyse regarding our relationship. Whilst I acknowledge Marilyse’s feelings, I do not agree with her comments. Relationships can be complex and there are always two sides to every story. I am very private so I don’t wish to share my side of the story publicly. I would like to draw a line under this now.” He added: “While I understand that Marilyse has shared her perspective on our time together, I want to make it clear that I hold no ill feelings towards her and I wish her nothing but the best.

“I am committed to growth. Moving forward, I am focusing on the positive and surrounding myself with supportive people who encourage me to be my best self.” “With respect I don’t know how much more time my mother has left to live. I don’t have the head space to hold any resentment or bad feelings towards anyone,” Matt admitted.

On the hit E4 show, Marilyse was originally matched with Franky Spencer. Matt appeared on last year’s series, where he was matched with salon owner Gemma Rose. Despite hitting it off on their wedding day, their marriage crumbled and later Matt kissed fellow star Whitney Hughes. After things didn’t work out with Whitney, Matt had moved on with Marilyse.

Things turned sour and she decided to call it a day and dumped the tattooed barber with sources claiming he had been causing upset while “gaslighting” his social media followers. Matt and Marilyse confirmed they are dating through social media (Image: Instagram/Matt Murray) Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, a source close to Marilyse said: “We’re all so relieved that Marilyse saw sense and ended things with Matt. “He treated her appallingly, she was totally blinded by him, he love-bombed her and she always sees the good in people which left her vulnerable to him.” When approached for comment at the time, a spokesperson for Marilyse said: ” Marilyse is not surprised by Matt’s recent behaviour on Instagram.

  1. She expects nothing less from him.
  2. Marilyse tried to see the good in him because she knows oh too well how the show edits can portray cast members inaccurately, but unfortunately, as time went on it became clear he didn’t appreciate her.” Matt appeared to take a swipe at his ex-girlfriend by revealing he had taken a mystery woman to a rock climbing centre.

Previously, he and Marilyse went on a climbing date with the former couple stating the location was special to them. Last month, the Mirror was told by Matt’s former manager, who has since dropped him: “His behaviour left our working relationship untenable.” After being contacted by the Mirror for comment, Matt stated that he was joined by a friend he has known for several years and had visited a different climbing centre as he goes every week.
