Is Harriet dead on Emmerdale
Emmerdale fans have hit out at writers for “forgetting” about one of the soap’s characters following her tragic death. A number of goodbyes have been said over the past few days after a devastating storm ripped through the village. Among those who sadly lost their lives were Liv Dingle and Harriet Finch.
- Liv died after she was crushed by a caravan while Harriet was squashed when she plunged down a ravine followed by the quad bike she was riding in search for Amelia Spencer.
- She died unexpectedly when she crashed her quad bike, which was then struck by lightning causing it to explode.

Her character decided to take her own life after being diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. On Friday, there was not a dry eye in the house during Liv and Faith’s joint funeral, However, many have since complained and said writers have “forgotten” about Harriet and not done her any justice. Emmerdale’s Katherine Dow Blyton who played Harriet Finch Jay asked on Twitter: “Has everyone just forgot that Harriet died as well?” The Emmerdale fan page wrote: “Harriet’s death really was forgettable. Really sad about the obvious difference between how they’ve treated Liv & Faiths deaths against hers!” Another viewer said: “Where is Harriet?? Has she just died disappeared and forgotten!” Chloe commented: “So Faith and Liv have had a funeral, will Harriet be getting one as well as she’s hardly been mentioned since she died.” She later added: “Its like she’s just been forgotten about.” However, Emily Walker jumped to the writers’ defence.
- She said: “Thursday is her funeral episode so she isn’t forgotten and last week she was mention by Sam when he and Samson were going to see Esther.” In an interview with RadioTimes, Harriet Finch actress Katherine Dow Blyton, 57, said she got “very emotional” reading her final script,
- She said: “On the actual day, I was covered in blood and I had various bits of woodland hanging out of my hair.
“We had these industrial wind machines which were literally blowing sand and debris into your eyes. So when it came to it, it wasn’t as emotional because the technicality of what you have to do takes away from the emotion, so I managed to get through the day without sobbing.” Read next:

However, Lydia Dingle was left worried about her husband Sam leaving as she continues to struggle after being raped by Craig Reed in harrowing scenes. Viewers were horrified in recent scenes as in their work office. Prior to this, Craig and Lydia had bumped into each other after decades apart, having not seen each other since they were young teens.
Craig and Lydia grew up in the same children’s home years ago, where Lydia, real name Jenny, fell pregnant aged 15. Lydia gave birth alone but tragically the baby, Toby, was stillborn. Realising her baby had died, Lydia buried him in a woodland and ran away. In recent scenes Lydia was stunned to come face-to-face with Craig all these years later, while Craig had no idea about the baby or his tragic death.
Lydia explained everything to Craig and all about her fleeing, to which they shared a moment. As the pair got closer, Craig confessed his feelings to Lydia who was horrified and soon told him nothing could happen, and that she loved her husband Sam. However, Craig cruelly ignored this and raped her, despite her telling him she did not want to sleep with him.
Since then Lydia has been in turmoil and has not told anyone about her rape ordeal. Craig has denied raping her and instead claimed it was consensual. With Lydia in a bad way, Craig has begun showing up at her house and harassing her to stop her exposing what he did to her. With Sam set to go to Ireland, will Lydia be okay?
