Who are the 5 deaths in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2

Answered By: Bryan Alexander Date: created: Jul 03 2023

Who were the 5 deaths in Stranger Things volume 2? – Despite reports ahead of the season’s release that there would be 5 deaths in Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 connected to named characters, this report ended up being nothing more than a rumor as there were not five named character deaths in volume 2.

Is Max dead in Stranger Things Volume 2?

Is Max alive at the end of Season 4? – Physically, yes. Lucas tells his friends that Max is in a coma, and we see her wearing casts on her arms and legs. The Duffer brothers have also that at the end of Season 4, Max is alive yet “brain dead, blind, and all of her bones are broken.” The big mystery is where the redhead is mentally.

Does Vecna win in Stranger Things?

Stranger Things Season 4 Ending Explained: Vecna Won – Well, well, well, it seems our heroes didn’t win the day after all. Let’s back up for a minute. Once Eleven finds her way into Max’s mind, she’s able to battle with Vecna once more. The balance of power seesaws back and forth with Eleven first taking the upper hand and then Vecna revealing that by banishing him to the Upside Down, El has made him more powerful than ever before.

It seems Vecna has won and Max is doomed. Eddie dies buying time for his friends in the Upside Down, whom he doesn’t realize are also (with the exception of Dustin) being choked by Vecna. In Surfer Boy Pizza in Nevada — where Eleven’s body is — Will (Noah Schnapp) encourages Mike (Finn Wolfhard) to be “the heart.” Mike tells Eleven he loves her and that she can do anything.

But she has to fight. This gives Eleven the strength to telekinetically push Vecna off of Max. Meanwhile, in Russia, Murray is able to torch the demogorgons and demo dogs there. This weakens the Upside Down at the perfect moment. Nancy, Steve, and Robin torch and shoot Vecna’s physical body to smithereens.

  • Before he dies, Vecna taunts Eleven, telling her that although she believes she and her friends have won, “This is only the beginning.” As it happens, Vecna was able to do enough damage to Max that she does die.
  • Four bells chime and then four gates open across Hawkins.
  • Houses are destroyed, people die, and clouds cover the town.

Eleven can’t bear losing her best female friend so she calls upon all their happy memories, hoping it will revive Max. Photo: Netflix When we cut ahead to “Two Days Later,” the Surfer Boy crew finally arrive in a devastated, but still standing, Hawkins. They learn that Max was clinically dead for a minute — thereby opening the fourth gate — but that Eleven was able to bring her back.

However, Max is in a full body cast and it’s unclear if she will ever come out of her coma. The gang returns to Hopper’s dilapidated cabin in the woods to set it up for Eleven. Hopper and Joyce arrive and are reunited with the kids. All seems calm, but Will tells Mike that now they’re back in Hawkins, he can feel Vecna again.

(After all, it was Vecna who controlled the Mindflayer and Demogorgon all that time. He was looking for Eleven, using her to search for a way back to our world so he could conquer it and remake it as something he considers “beautiful.” And Will and the Mindflayer go way back.) Will says Vecna is not dead yet, but merely hurt.

But they have to kill him or he’ll destroy everything. In the final moments of Stranger Things Season 4, Will feels that telltale itch on the back of his neck. An ominous black cloud emerges over Hawkins. Ash falls from the sky and everything it touches withers into a grotesque version of itself, sort of like you’d find in the Upside Down.

The four gates dividing Hawkins light up with a hellish glow. Eleven — with her friends behind her — looks down upon Hawkins. Vecna won. So, yeah, Vecna is not dead and the gates have been opened, so Stranger Things Season 5 will be all about the final showdown between Eleven and her friends and Vecnaprobably in a twisted version of Hawkins.

Does Eleven defeat Vecna in Volume 2

Answered By: Patrick Torres Date: created: Jun 29 2023

Venca – Eleven defeats Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in a psychic battle, Steve and Nancy light his body on fire, and Nancy shoots him several times with a sawed-off shotgun. But it’s not enough. Vecna’s body goes flying out the window of the Upside Down Creel house and he lands with a thud. However, the body soon disappears—almost certainly a direct homage to when Michael Myers does the same disappearing act at the end of Halloween, Some of our heroes are hopeful that he died of his wounds after all and really is gone for good. But Will (Noah Schnapp), who was possessed by the Mind Flayer (revealed to have been a servant of Vecna) in season 2, has a connection with the Upside Down, and knows Vecna isn’t gone. His theory seems to be proven correct when, in the closing moments of the finale, ash starts falling from the sky as the Upside Down invades the real world. It’s as Vecna warned: His defeat wasn’t the end, it was only the beginning of the end. He’s almost certainly still alive and our heroes will have to finish the fight in season 5. Let’s hope they all survive. Contact us at [email protected],

Does Nancy get killed by Vecna

Answered By: Isaac White Date: created: Jul 18 2024

1. Is Nancy OK? – How did Nancy escape from Vecna’s clutches? Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Yes! Nancy (Natalia Dyer) is fine — at least, as fine as she can be after being traumatized by Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and almost strangled to death by his squelchy, squelchy tentacles,

Instead of escaping Vecna’s Mind Lair by hearing her favorite song, Nancy is actually released by Vecna himself. Her freedom comes with a price: He gives her a vision of his plans for Hawkins and tells her to pass that message on to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). A more efficient villain may have just killed Nancy as the fourth sacrifice and ended the world right then and there, but Vecna knows we have a 4-hour runtime to kill.

So he sends Nancy on her merry way. Honestly, the biggest tragedy of this storyline is not figuring out Nancy’s favorite song, Is it Madonna? Bowie? Blondie? The world needs to know!

How did Max survive Vecna?

Although Max is still alive at the end of Stranger Things season 4, her fate adds a tragic layer to Hawkins’ final battle against Vecna. WARNING! This post contains SPOILERS for Stranger Things season 4. Max’s resurrection in Stranger Things season 4 may have technically kept her alive, but her missing consciousness sets up a tragic twist for season 5. At the end of Stranger Things season 4, Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) is briefly killed by Vecna after he breaks her limbs and takes her eyes.

However, Eleven resurrects Max using her powers, which still leaves her broken, blind, and in a braindead coma heading into Stranger Things season 5. Despite surviving Vecna’s curse, Eleven couldn’t find Max when she searched for her in the void, suggesting Max’s mind has moved elsewhere. Consequently, it’s been widely speculated that Vecna has possession of her consciousness, as she technically did join his collection of victims.

Vecna takes everything that his victims were and will be, meaning Max’s consciousness could perhaps be located in Vecna’s red smoke mindscape area. As Stranger Things season 5 sees the characters try to wake Max up, Vecna’s possession of her consciousness could pose a particularly tragic obstacle for her friends.

While killing Vecna will be one of the key goals in Stranger Things season 5’s endgame story, his possession of Max’s mind could cause an incredible hindrance to this plan. Killing Vecna would also mean killing Max, so her friends could be put in the position of needing to make the tragic decision to sacrifice Max in order to rid both the Upside Down and the regular world of Vecna.

If Max’s mind is truly uninhabited as Eleven’s trip to the void suggested, Vecna could also use Max’s body as a host, similar to Billy in Stranger Things season 3. If Max is used as a vessel for Vecna, Stranger Things season 5’s characters would be put in another tragic situation of needing to use her to get back at Henry Creel, repeating the circumstances of needing to burn Vecna out of Will Byers in season 2,

What happened to Steve Harrington

Answered By: Patrick Bryant Date: created: Nov 21 2023

Non-familial – In the fall of 1983, Dustin, along with the Party, perceived Steve as nothing more than a douchebag. By the fall of 1984, however, Dustin used Steve as a last resort to help tame a rogue Demodog after failing to find Nancy and Mike at the Wheeler home.

Steve dismissed Dustin as overreacting and threatened Dustin if his claims were a Halloween prank, but he’s proven wrong upon Dustin saying that the Demodog ate his cat and the boys’ discovery that the creature tunneled his way out of Dustin’s cellar. The next day, while throwing raw meat on the train tracks, Steve told Dustin dating advice since he explained he kept the Demodog to impress a girl he had a crush on.

After explaining that the key to men winning girls was acting like they didn’t care, Steve sheepishly admitted that his luscious hair routine involved Farrah Fawcett hairspray, threatening to end Dustin if he told anyone. The boys soon form a brotherly bond, with Dustin proclaiming that Steve was awesome as he watched him battle Demodogs in the junkyard.

Dustin cheered for Steve as he fought Billy, and was the only one that wanted to take him with the Party to the pumpkin patch after Steve was knocked unconscious, giving him an ice pack as Max drove. Steve protested against the kids going underneath the tunnel system, but reluctantly agreed after Dustin said he could keep them safe.

As the plan to close the Gate came to fruition, the kids climbed up the hole while Steve picked Dustin up to protect him from the Demodogs, showing his fierce protectiveness. One month later, Steve gave Dustin his Farrah Fawcett hairspray, with Dustin using it on his hair for the Snow Ball.

Carpooling him there, Steve fist bumped Dustin while boosting his confidence before sending him in. Six months later, in the summer of 1985, Steve and Dustin have grown to be best friends, with Steve being especially giddy upon Dustin’s return from Camp Know Where and greeting him at his job at the Starcourt Mall, Scoops Ahoy.

Steve’s advice for girls had shown to score Dustin a girlfriend from the camp named Suzie Bingham from Salt Lake City, Utah. Explaining that he picked up Russian communication on his homemade radio, Dustin recruited Steve to help him translate it after insinuating that their fame to stop the Russians could score him women.

  • When their attempts to translate fails, Steve’s sarcastic co-worker, Robin Buckley, offered her help due to being fluent in multiple languages, eventually discovering Russians delivering packages in the back of the mall with high security.
  • As their attempts to decipher the code continue, Dustin encouraged Steve to ask Robin out, noting that he shouldn’t have to worry about his popular status now that he was out of high school.

After getting into the room with Erica Sinclair ‘s help, Dustin stayed by Steve’s side as Steve opens a box of unknown chemicals, not wanting him to die, which touched Steve. When they are spotted by the Russians, Steve, along with Robin, helped Dustin and Erica escape before Dustin told him that he’d come back for him.

Eventually, Dustin came to Steve and Robin’s rescue and helped them escape the Russian base while looking out and protecting them as they were drugged with truth serum. After Steve and Robin were cured, Steve revealed to Dustin that he told the Russians his name while being drugged, much to Dustin’s shock, as Steve apologized.

When Dustin revealed Suzie’s existence by contacting her on Cerebro, Steve was shocked as he secretly did not believe that she existed and awkwardly listened to Dustin and Suzie singing Neverending Story together. Eight months later, in the spring of 1986, their friendship remained stable, though Steve held slight jealousy that Dustin, now a freshman at Hawkins High, began worshipping repeated senior, Eddie Munson, leader of the controversial Hellfire Club,

Dustin’s attempts to have Steve sub for Lucas for their D&D campaign were unsuccessful, with Steve hanging up on him due to him having a date, causing Dustin to flip the phone off as he walked away. When the mutilated body of Chrissy Cunningham was discovered at Eddie’s trailer, Dustin and Max made a mess of Family Video getting access to the store’s computer, much to Steve’s and Robin’s anger.

When Steve sarcastically referred to Eddie as Dustin’s new best friend, Dustin insisted that he never said that. Steve reluctantly helped Dustin, Max, and Robin track down Eddie at a lakehouse near Lover’s Lake, where a paranoid Eddie held Steve down with a broken bottle to his throat.

Dustin deescalated the situation by explaining Steve was his friend and that they came to help. Discovering a new evil entity from the Upside Down was killing teenagers – dubbed “Vecna” by Dustin and Eddie – Steve assisted rounding up Nancy and investigating. While waiting for Max, Dustin poked fun of Steve being so insistent to be by Nancy’s side, causing Steve to become flustered and insist that his concern was platonic.

As Dustin laughed at Steve blushing, Steve unknowingly threatened to knock Dustin’s teeth out, causing Dustin to say he went too far. Steve immediately apologized, with Dustin immediately accepting, and the two fist-bumped one another. While Steve, Nancy, Robin, and Eddie traveled through the Upside Down, Eddie revealed that Dustin constantly insisted that Steve was a “bad-ass” and constantly praised him, much to Steve’s surprise, showing that Dustin holds Steve in a high place.

Steve and Nancy first began seeing each other shortly before the disappearance of Will Byers, While Nancy initially believed that Steve wasn’t serious about their relationship, this turned out to not be the case. In truth, Steve really loved Nancy, claiming she’s “not like other girls”. After having sex at a party held at Steve’s house, they officially entered a relationship.

However, when Nancy became distant due to the disappearance of her friend Barbara Holland, Steve grew worried. When he visited her house to check on her, he witnessed Nancy and Jonathan together in her room, making him believe she was cheating. When Nancy confronted him, Steve gave her a chance to explain herself, though, due to the extraordinary nature of the events, she was unable to.

  • After realizing his mistakes, he went to the Byers’ house in order to apologize.
  • There, he unexpectedly helped Nancy and Jonathan fight the Demogorgon,
  • A month after these events, Steve and Nancy had gotten back together.
  • The two had dated for nearly a year when their relationship was once again put in jeopardy; no longer being able to bear the guilt of Barb’s death, Nancy told Steve they should tell the Hollands the truth.

Steve rejected this idea, reminding her that doing so would put them and their families in danger. At a Halloween party, Nancy became intoxicated, leading her to reveal that she did not have feelings for him. This emotionally crushed Steve, and he broke up with her the following day.

  • Yet, Steve still had feelings for Nancy, and after being goaded by Tommy and Billy, attempted to apologize to her.
  • He eventually came to terms with Nancy’s feelings for Jonathan and told her she should be with him instead.
  • After dropping Dustin off at the Snow Ball, Steve spotted Nancy and accepted she will never love him.

A year later, in 1985, Steve confessed to Robin that he no longer loves Nancy and considers her a friend, as he’s now looking for the perfect girl for him. In the summer of 1985, when asked by Robin if he still had feelings for Nancy, Steve replied he didn’t but considered her a friend.

  • He explained he had already found a perfect girl for him, revealing to have feelings for Robin, but was told by Robin that she was a lesbian, causing Steve to immediately discard his feelings for her.
  • Steve would later save Nancy from being rammed by Billy’s car after crashing into it with the Tod-Father, and Nancy returned the favor by saving him and Robin from the Mind Flayer.

By the spring of 1986, Steve had feelings for Nancy once again. They worked together on the Creel House mystery. When Steve dove into the water, Nancy was the first to dive back in and help him. Later, Steve admitted that they wished they had stayed a couple, and that he dreamed of one day having Nancy by his side as he toured the country with a camper full of children.

  1. Due to Jonathan and Steve being polar opposites, both in popularity and personality, Steve viewed him as an outcast.
  2. While he, Carol, Tommy, Nancy, and Barb watched Jonathan hang up missing posters for Will, Steve called him depressing, but he did smack Tommy on the arm and told him to shut up after he insinuated that Jonathan might have killed his brother.

But when Nicole informs him and the others that Jonathan took pictures of them during the party at his house (including a lewd photo of Nancy in her underwear), Steve proclaimed him to be a pervert and broke his camera in retaliation. When he sees Jonathan and Nancy together in her room (not realizing the situation), the next day he, along with Carol, Tommy, and Nicole, wrote horrific slurs about them in graffiti on the theatre’s marquee and an alleyway.

  • When Jonathan and Nancy confront him, Steve begins to brutally bully him about his home life, his mother, and his brother’s “death” until Jonathan’s rage consumes him and causes him to beat Steve repeatedly.
  • After escaping from the police beaten and bruised, Steve comes to the realization that Tommy and Carol are horrible people and drives to the Byers to apologize, only to get sucked into Nancy and Jonathan’s fight with the Demogorgon.

A month later, Steve and Nancy give Jonathan a new camera for Christmas, showing they’re on good terms. A year later, in 1984, Steve and Jonathan were shown to still get along. During a party on Halloween night, Nancy drunkenly admits that she doesn’t love Steve, causing him to storm out and ask Jonathan to take her home, showing that he trusts him.

He accepts that he wasn’t right for Nancy and allows her to pursue her feelings for Jonathan. In 1985, Steve and Jonathan were still on friendly terms, as Steve finally got over Nancy. The two worked together as a team to protect the Party from the Mind Flayer. In 1986, Steve and Jonathan reunited after the Party managed to temporarily defeat Vecna,

Steve looked happy to see Jonathan reunite with Nancy, but also felt upset as he was starting to have feelings for Nancy again. Tommy, Carol, and Steve were a trio of friends throughout high school, though it’s obvious the couple was more interested in his popularity than his compassion and actual love for Nancy.

He invites the couple, along with Nancy and Barb, to his home for a party, and the quartet has fun wading in his pool (while Barb tended to her knife wound inside). Tommy and Carol join in on ripping apart Jonathan’s photos and enjoy watching Steve break his camera. When Steve, Tommy, and Carol drive to Nancy’s home one night, the two tease Steve for caring about Nancy.

When he yells at them to shut up, they quickly do but chuckle quietly in amusement. After Steve sees Jonathan up in Nancy’s bedroom, he, Tommy, Carol, and Nicole spray paint slurs of Nancy and Jonathan on the Hawkins theater marquee and in an alley the next day.

Soon, Jonathan and Steve get into a fight, while Tommy, Carol, and Nicole watch. The cops arrive and arrest Jonathan while the other teens run away. Tommy, Carol, and Steve stopped at a convenience store where Tommy gives a bloodied-faced Steve a cold soda can and pills for his pain. When Carol and Tommy once again make fun of Nancy and Jonathan, Steve snaps and tells Carol to shut her mouth.

Tommy asks what his problem is, and Steve calls them “assholes”, saying Nancy isn’t miserable like the two of them. Carol calls Nancy “the slut with a heart of gold”, causing Steve to yell at her to watch her mouth. Tommy grabs Steve by the collar and tells him he doesn’t talk to Carol like that and attempts to instigate a fight, but Steve silently climbs into his car and drives off, all while Tommy calls Steve a “pussy” and yelling at him to run away.

  1. A year later in the fall of 1984, Tommy still holds a grudge against Steve, tormenting him alongside Billy about Nancy skipping school alongside Jonathan.
  2. In July of 1985, Steve mentions to Robin how he regrets not paying attention to her in high school out of fear of being made fun of by people like Tommy.

Billy Hargrove was an antagonist to Steve and quite provocative from the day they met. After Billy’s arrival to Hawkins High School, he was quick to gain a reputation from the other students and ignited a rivalry with Steve after breaking his keg standing record.

  1. Even though Steve didn’t bother much about his fame, Billy was always quick to taunt him for his failures, such as losing against him in basketball and failing to deal with his broken relationship with Nancy.
  2. Ultimately, Steve realized Billy’s violent nature; when he came to the Byers residence to forcefully take Max and threatened Lucas.

This prompted Steve to intervene and a fistfight ensued. Steve managed to protect the boys, as overpowered Billy quite easily, it was only; due to Billy cowardly using dirty tactics that; the latter got the upper hand; before he was sedated; by Max. In 1985, after learning that; Billy was one of the very people possessed by the Mind Flayer, Steve protected the kids from him by crashing into Billy’s car before Billy could ram over the kids as they tried to escape Starcourt Mall.

After the Mind Flayer’s defeat, it is unknown how Steve felt about Billy’s sacrifice to protect the kids. Around 1984, Steve attended Miss Click’s history class alongside sophomore Robin Buckley in Hawkins High School, Though Steve didn’t know her during his years in school, Robin disliked Steve incredibly due to him being late to class, making a mess by eating food, and causing her crush, Tammy Thompson, to ignore her.

A year later, in the summer of 1985, Steve is forced by his father to be employed at the newly-built Starcourt Mall ‘s ice cream parlor, Scoops Ahoy, alongside Robin, due to not having the grades to go to college. Initially, Robin takes joy in watching Steve fail to impress female customers and failing school while Steve disliked Robin for snarky behavior and attitude towards him.

  1. But when Steve’s friend Dustin claims that to have intercepted a secret Russian communication, Robin assists the pair by decoding the Russian language.
  2. Throughout the next few days, Dustin keeps suggesting to Steve to make a move on Robin, believing she’s cool, but Steve holds onto his high school mindset, believing her alternative personality could jeopardize his image.

However, as they discovered the Russians to be in Hawkins and operating in the mall, Steve and Robin started to form a friendship. While held captive for their interrogation by the Russians, Robin and Steve are clearly seen to care about each other’s well-being and enjoy each other’s company, talking and laughing together while alone.

  • Once rescued, the duo shared an emotional moment on a bathroom floor where Steve decided to confess his love for Robin.
  • Robin awkwardly tells him that while she really likes him as a friend, her romantic feelings belong to a fellow female classmate named Tammy Thompson.
  • Though initially shocked, Steve is not upset in the slightest, rather saying that Tammy Thompson is a total dud due to her hobby and lack of musical talent, causing the two to laugh as Steve accepts Robin for who she is.

They remained best friends after the battle at Starcourt Mall and are seen three months later getting a new job at Family Video together, with Robin helping Steve get the job. Erica was a frequent customer at Scoops Ahoy and Steve served her ice cream.

  • It’s possible that Steve was often irritated at Erica for taking advantage of Scoops Ahoy’s free ice cream samples, much like Robin.
  • However, when Robin asked for Erica’s help to crawl through the air ducts to a secret room that the Russians occupied, Steve agreed to the idea and was willing to give Erica free ice cream treats, in exchange for her cooperation.

Once Erica arrived to the room safe and sound, Steve gave out a sigh of relief. Despite that, after being trapped in the room which was revealed to be an elevator, Erica started to sassily berate Steve and the others for getting her in this situation, saying they would be in trouble with her mother,

  • This caused Steve to snap at Erica, telling her that he doesn’t care and they would be dead if they remain trapped in the elevator, much to Erica’s shock.
  • When exploring the secret Russian base underneath Starcourt, Steve helped Erica and Dustin escape when they were spotted by Russians, leaving him and Robin to be captured.

However, Erica and Dustin managed to come to their rescue and escape the base together, protecting the older teens as they were drugged with truth serum until they were cured. Both Steve and Erica continued to work together in helping stop the Mind Flayer.

  1. In 1984, Steve is first told of Max when Dustin discusses keeping Dart to impress her.
  2. When preparing to lure Dart and the Demodogs at the junkyard, Steve refers to Max as “Random Girl” who’s the only one assisting him.
  3. That night, inside the bus, Max curiously asks Steve if he’s fought one of “those things” before, to which Steve silently nods.

When Steve steps outside to lure the Demodogs, Max calls Steve an idiot. Later on, when hiding out the Byers’ home, Steve covers for Max when Billy arrives searching for her. When the plan fails and Billy beats Steve’s face in violently, Max protects him by grabbing a sedative injection and stabbing Billy in the neck with it.

  • In 1985, Max, alongside the rest of the Party, use Steve’s job at Scoops Ahoy to sneak into the movie theatre multiple times.
  • When giving El and Max ice cream, Steve questions if El is even allowed to be there.
  • The two giggle and run off, leaving Steve confused.
  • In 1986, Max and Dustin go to Steve and Robin at Family Video when they sense something from the Upside Down played a part in Chrissy Cunningham’s death.

The quartet work together to locate Eddie at Reefer Rick’s. The next day, when the group splits up, Max offers to drive Steve’s car, but Steve tells her it would never happen again after driving Billy’s car. Instead, Steve carpools Max and Dustin to Ms.

  • Elley’s home, where Max steals keys to her office at the school and yells at Steve to drive.
  • That evening, the trio look through her files and discover Max is Vecna’s next target.
  • Hearing a noise outside, Steve instructs Max to stay there and arms himself with a floor lamp.
  • The next morning, Max spent the whole night writing letters to her loved ones.

When she’s finished, Steve is surprised when Max hands him one, but instructs him not to open it since it’s a “fail-safe” in case things won’t work out for her. When Max desires to go to East Hawkins, Steve is adamant in keeping her safe, but Max threatens to press charges against him since keeping her against her will is “kidnapping of a minor”.

  • Steve reluctantly agrees and drives her, Lucas, and Dustin, to East Hawkins, where Billy is buried.
  • After waiting a period of time for Max to read her letter, Steve gets impatient, saying Max can “get a lawyer” and runs up the hill to get her.
  • But Steve is horrified to find Max is possessed and stuck in a trance, attempting to shake her out of it and calling for Dustin and Lucas.

When Dustin is told by Nancy and Robin via walkie-talkie that music could bring Max back to reality, Steve and the others help put on Max’s song Running Up That Hill through her Walkman. As Max hovers in the air, a distressed Steve yells for her. However, Max awakens and escapes Vecna’s grasp, falling to the ground as Steve and the others huddle around her and comfort her.

When attempting to locate a gate at the bottom of Lover’s Lake, Lucas and Dustin take note of how hairy Steve has gotten, causing Max to snatch the binoculars and take a look for a certain amount of time, catching Lucas and Dustin off guard. The attempt to kill Vecna and save Max fails initially; when the clock in the Creel House chimes four times, Steve is horrified when he and the girls realize Max is gone.

It can be assumed he was relieved yet saddened that Max was revived but in a coma. In the fall of 1983, when Dustin commented how Nancy’s behavior had changed, Lucas commented that it was due to her beginning to date Steve, who he labeled a “douchebag”.

In the fall of 1984, Lucas was surprised when Dustin revealed to have teamed up with Steve to track down Dart. The two worked together, along with Dustin and Max, in setting a trap for Dart. Later, Lucas looked out for Steve while he battled the Demodogs in the junkyard by telling him what direction they were going.

Later, Steve looked after Lucas and the kids at the Byers’ house, with Steve protecting Lucas due to Billy targeting him. The two later worked together on setting the tunnel system on fire. In the summer of 1985, Lucas used Steve’s job at Scoops Ahoy in the Starcourt Mall to his and the Party’s advantage, having Steve begrudgingly help them sneak into the mall’s movie theatre through the back rooms.

  1. The two reunited when Eleven saved Steve, Dustin, Robin, and Erica from Russian soldiers, and soon worked together in battling the Mind Flayer’s avatar,
  2. In the spring of 1986, Steve watched Lucas win the Hawkins High championship basketball game, cheering for him as he scored the winning shot.
  3. When hearing a noise while investigating Ms.

Kelley’s files, Steve armed himself with a floor lamp as Lucas sped into the group, causing everyone to scream as Steve scolded him for almost making him take Lucas out with the lamp. While investigating Vecna, both Lucas and Steve shared the same confusion of how Vecna existed in the 1950s, along with questioning how and why Vecna attacked the Creel family and returned thirty years later to kill traumatized teenagers.

After discovering Vecna’s true identity and motives, Lucas and Steve, along with the rest of their friends, worked together to try and defeat Vecna and save Hawkins. In the fall of 1983, Mike perceived Steve as nothing more than a douchebag. Mike used Nancy dating Steve as revenge for Nancy dissing Will at dinner, revealing to their parents that Steve was Nancy’s boyfriend.

While sneaking out to find Will, Mike watched Steve struggling to climb up to Nancy’s window. As they made eye contact, Steve stopped and awkwardly leaned against the house, while Mike simply rolled his eyes and he biked away. In the fall of 1984, Mike and his friends were looked after by Steve.

Steve was adamant that they remained at the Byers’ home, using football analogies to prove his point, but Mike insisted that their situation ” a stupid sports game”. Mike later cheered for Steve as he and Billy fought, and reluctantly agreed on taking an unconscious Steve with them to the pumpkin patch.

As Steve slowly awoke hazily, he mistook Mike for Nancy, causing Mike to look at him in disgust. The two would later work together to set fire to the tunnel system, with Steve rescuing Mike from a vine wrapping around his leg. In the summer of 1985, Mike used Steve’s job at Scoops Ahoy in the Starcourt Mall to his and the Party’s advantage, having Steve begrudgingly help them sneak into the mall’s movie theatre through the back rooms.

  1. The two reunited when Eleven saved Steve, Dustin, Robin, and Erica from Russian soldiers, and soon worked together in battling the Mind Flayer’s avatar,
  2. In the spring of 1986, Mike and Steve worked together from a distance to save Max and defeat Vecna.
  3. When Mike returned to Hawkins, Steve reunited with him, looking happy to see him.

Due to his attitude towards Steve, it’s likely Keith was a victim of the former’s bullying in high school. In the fall of 1985, Steve and Robin applied for jobs at Family Video, where Keith worked and interviewed them. While Robin successfully got the job, Steve failed due to Keith’s grudge towards his former bully.

Steve From ‘Stranger Things’ Breaks Down That Insane Fight Scene In Season 2 One of the most unexpected delights from Stranger Things Season 2 is the character arc of “Slowly Maturing Steve.” He’s gone from last season’s bully jock to a guy who recognizes his educational limitations and his role as a good partner — both when he’s with Nancy and how he handles the breakup after she leaves him.

  1. Plus, he finds his own inner hero when faced with the demodogs.
  2. Actor Joe Keery, who plays the heartthrob with a hairdo of gold, discussed his changing role, including that with Billy that had everyone talking.
  3. This is the second time in two seasons that his character has taken a beating, and Keery jokes that it’ll happen again in Season 3.

Steve gets beat up once per season. So next year he’ll probably get beat up. I think it’s in my contract. Last season, Steve’s beating was the character’s comeuppance, as he gets taken down and bloodied by Will Byer’s outcast brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton). This season when Steve gets beaten, it’s a completely different ball game. Instead, his attacker is the new jock-bully in town, Billy. (The Duffers admitted in the aftershow Beyond Stranger Things that Billy was created to take the place of the character Steve was originally meant to be.) Now we’re rooting for Steve to win the fight.

  • But sadly, the guy who couldn’t beat Jonathan does even worse against a real menace.
  • Unlike last year, where Heaton accidentally landed actual punches to Keery’s face during filming their fight choreography, working with Dacre Montgomery, who plays Billy, made the fight scene go far more smoothly.
  • The fight scene wasn’t too bad.

Last year, Charlie punched me in the face once or twice so I was like, “Oh man I gotta get ready.” No offense to Charlie, but Dacre is like a big dude. He could do some damage. The only time we got close to getting hurt was the plate we used to break was a homemade plate and it was a little thicker. And we only got two takes in but he hit me right with the ridge on the side of my head and that was like, “Oooof,” and after that I was like, “Okay guys, I think we got it! Let’s wrap it up! But while the fight scene might have been Steve’s nadir, Keery was overall, really happy with where his character went this season, especially his unexpected bonding with Dustin. Of course, the real question on everyone’s minds: Was the Luscious Steve Locks hair care regimen shared with Dustin the real deal? Were there really products in the ’80s with names like Faberge and Farrah Fawcett? Actually, yes, though they’re all discontinued now, obviously.

  • But apparently Keery’s own dad remembered them.
  • As far as the actor’s concerned, he thinks they should come back with a vengeance now, since hipster hair is such a big thing.they discontinued the Faberge Organics but I’m hoping that maybe Netflix will get a deal with Faberge where they can reissue the stuff.

Let’s hear it for male hair care products, America. It’s time all of us admit how much work goes into our hair. : Steve From ‘Stranger Things’ Breaks Down That Insane Fight Scene In Season 2

What was Chrissy’s trauma

Answered By: Aaron Jackson Date: created: Jul 15 2024

Familial – In the visions of her trauma induced by Vecna, Chrissy’s mother appeared both mentally and emotionally abusive towards her daughter – and it’s implied her comments about Chrissy’s figure caused her daughter to develop her eating disorder.

It’s unknown if Laura was also physically abusive to Chrissy, though in one of her visions Chrissy heard her mother threatening to “gut her like a pig”. In spite of the abuse she inflicted upon her daughter, Laura spoke at her funeral and appeared devastated by her death – believing the rumors that her daughter’s murder was at the hands of a Satanist cult.

Not much was known about Chrissy’s relationship to her father. Her mother Laura appeared to be the more active parent, being the one to speak at their daughter’s funeral why he silently stood by her side. His meek nature was further implied by Chrissy’s vision where her father’s eyes were gouged out and his lips sewn shut – implying he turned a blind eye to his wife’s abuse of their daughter, and never spoke up against it.

Could Eleven have killed Vecna?

Vecna was able to escape Eleven at the end of Stranger Things season 4, hinting at how she can finally kill him in season 5’s Hawkins battle. WARNING! This article contains SPOILERS for Stranger Things season 4, vol.2! Despite being able to escape his hold, Eleven couldn’t kill Vecna in Stranger Things ‘ season 4 finale. Eleven spent the majority of Stranger Things season 4 at the Nina Project, where she not only brought back her powers but became even stronger than before.

Dr. Brenner and Owens would eventually disclose that her powers were needed as the ” cure ” to stop Vecna/One/Henry Creel’s plan to take over the world, but Vecna still emerged with the upper hand in Stranger Things ‘ season 4 ending. The Stranger Things season 4, volume 1 finale proved that eight-year-old Eleven had been more powerful than One when she banished him to the Upside Down in 1979.

As One transformed into Vecna in the Upside Down, he came to understand his weakness as well, with the villain then seeking a way to siphon Eleven’s incredible ability to open gates between worlds. Vecna successfully stole Eleven’s powers when controlling the Mind Flayer in Stranger Things ‘ season 3 ending, which finally allowed him to emerge stronger than Eleven and enact his plan to take over Hawkins with the Upside Down,

  1. To do so, Vecna would open four gates by killing Hawkins teenagers, including Eleven’s friend Max.
  2. The gang’s plan to use Max as bait and kill Vecna in Stranger Things ‘ season 4 finale nearly worked, with Eleven ” piggybacking ” on Max’s memories for an epic ” mind fight ” with Vecna while Nancy, Steve, and Robin severely damaged his physical body in the Upside Down.

However, Vecna was able to survive both in the Upside Down, and his red smoke mindscape, whereafter Max’s brief death opened the fourth gate. As Eleven subdued Vecna in his mindscape at the end of Stranger Things season 4, he escaped this location when his body began to disappear into smoke, which was due to his physical form being burned in the Upside Down.

  • Eleven was able to overpower Vecna once Mike explained how much he loved her, suggesting she truly did have enough strength to kill Vecna, but the encouragement came too late.
  • The reason why Eleven couldn’t kill Vecna in Stranger Things ‘ season 4 finale is also connected to his control of the Upside Down’s creatures and the hive mind, which seemingly help the villain heal when he’s injured.

As such, Eleven killing Vecna doesn’t simply require destroying his physical form but also the entire Upside Down.

Why does Vecna let Nancy go

Answered By: Wallace Davis Date: created: Jan 16 2024

– She explains that as a character who exhibits the behavior of a malignant narcissist, Vecna will have taken his rejection by Eleven in his revelatory origin sequence incredibly poorly. And while his usual modus operandi is to embody his victims’ negative self-talk (another very real psychological phenomenon), this time he is telling Nancy his plans and then releasing her so she can report back to everybody—Eleven included—that the end is nigh, with the goal of discouraging and disempowering them. Is 11 stronger than Vecna

Answered By: Gabriel Alexander Date: created: Jun 21 2024

Eleven and Vecna had multiple fights in Stranger Things Season 4, and Eleven was always the underdog, and here’s why Vecna was more powerful. The following contains spoilers from Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2, streaming now on Netflix. Season 1 of Stranger Things started out practical. As the boys searched for Will and learned about the terrors of the Upside Down, they were actively running from a Demogorgon – a flesh and blood monster.

  1. In Season 2 and 3, things got a bit more ethereal.
  2. There were still monsters like the demodogs and the Spider Monster, but the biggest threat was the Mind Flayer.
  3. That made the Upside Down feel more like a shadowy realm, but it also cut down on the tangibility of the threat.
  4. So, in Season 4, Stranger Things brought back the flesh and blood monsters by introducing the very-pratical Vecna, who was not only terrifying, but he was also more powerful than Eleven, hence why Dr.

Brenner was so afraid of him. The first reason that Vecna was stronger than Eleven is simple. He was older and more experienced. He was the original subject in Project MKUltra, and using his DNA, Dr. Brenner was able to make or alter the other children so that they would also have powers. The first time anyone faced off against Vecna, he was still the murderous Henry Creel, It was 1979, and Eleven had just freed Henry from his Soteria chip, and he quickly unleashed his rage. He always wanted to destroy humanity, so he started with all of Dr.

Brenner’s test subjects. Then, Henry tried to get Eleven to join him in conquering the world. Eleven, however, refused and tried to stop him. Eventually, Eleven was able to banish Henry to the Upside Down (where he became Vecna), but it was very clear that Henry had been inherently stronger than Eleven.

It was only because Eleven was able to tap into her anger that she was able to defeat Henry. Having watched the tapes of their first fight, Dr. Brenner knew what Eleven was capable of, but he also knew what Vecna was capable of. Flashforward to 1986, Brenner knew it would be a bad idea for Eleven to fight against Vecna – and he made that abundantly clear. Brenner’s words are the second reason that Vecna was more powerful than Eleven. Vecna had his own strength, combined with the strength of everyone he had killed and absorbed. That means that he wielded his own power, combined with the power of all Brenner’s test subjects and the various monsters he had dominated in the Upside Down.

However, Eleven wouldn’t listen. Like Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back, she went to fight Vecna before she was ready – and it nearly destroyed her. Without Mike’s encouragement and the whole group’s combined efforts in fighting the Upside Down, Eleven would have fallen and Vecna would have won.

After seeing their second fight, it was clear that Vecna was stronger than Eleven one-on-one, so in Season 5, Eleven will have to find a way to upgrade her powers in order to vanquish her foe once and for all. Stranger Things Seasons 1-4 are streaming now on Netflix.

Max Meets Vecna Again and Eleven Goes Into Her Mind The Hawkins gang hatches a four-phase plan to take out Vecna without Eleven, which involves Max () setting herself up as the bait. While listening to Nancy’s (Natalia Dyer) discovery of Vecna/One/Henry’s origins, Max realizes Vecna’s Upside Down clock always chimes four times, and he needs to claim a fourth victim to open a fourth gate in Hawkins in order to crack open a permanent rift between the two realities.

  • Nancy, Steve (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Eddie (Joe Quinn) go back into the Upside Down to, while Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Erica (Priah Ferguson) and Max go to the Creel house to lure his mind away by distracting him with another chance to claim Max.
  • Once Vecna does get Max under his spell again, she tries to hide from him in the memory of her first kiss with Lucas at the Snow Ball, but Vecna finds her.

Luckily, so does Eleven — who, with the help of Argyle (Eduardo Franco), Jonathan, Will and Mike has made a sensory deprivation tank in a Surfer Boy Pizza place across the country in order to “piggyback” from Max’s mind into Vecna’s conciseness and fight him there.

  • Eddie Dies a Hero For the Hawkins gang, Dustin and Eddie are responsible for luring the Demobats away from the Creel house in the Upside Down — so Eddie performs an epic guitar solo of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” on the roof of his trailer.
  • While it works, eventually the bats find a way into the trailer and the pair prepare to escape through the gate into their own dimension.

After Dustin makes it to safety, Eddie decides to stay and give the Demobats a longer distraction from Nancy, Steve and Robin’s journey to Vecna, after previously beating himself up for running when Chrissy died. Dustin tries to get him to stop, but he refuses, sacrificing himself.

By the time Dustin re-enters the Upside Down, the Demobats are dead but Eddie is also gasping for air, ultimately dying in Dustin’s arms after telling him he loves him. Max Dies + Eleven Brings Her Back Eleven and Vecna finally face off in Max’s mind via the “piggyback” method and Vecna gets the upper hand, restraining Eleven long enough that he can begin his gradual-bone-cracking-eye-bleeding-death ritual on Max through her mind.

He manages to snap multiple limbs, make Max bleed from the eyes and blind her real-life body while she’s in his trance. But Eleven gets her strength back (thanks to some loving encouragement from “the heart” of the team, Mike, while she’s in the makeshift sensory deprivation tank) and pushes Vecna off Max from inside their minds long enough that Max comes out of his hold in the real world.

(While Max was in this trance, Lucas has been fighting with Chrissy’s boyfriend Jason, played by Mason Dye, to prevent the jock from waking Max before the plan to take out Vecna could be carried out.) At the same time, Nancy, Steve and Robin reach Vecna’s body in the Upside Down and throw multiple Molotov cocktails at him before Nancy shoots him, sending his blazing body flying out the window of the Upside Down’s Creel House.

But when they go outside to confirm the villain’s death, in classic horror movie form, Vecna’s body is no longer there. (He must have stolen the Michael Myers mask, and his method, at the same time.) With Vecna dramatically weakened (but not necessarily deceased), Max is conscious in Hawkins long enough to tell Lucas she doesn’t want to die.

  1. He yells for help, but before Erica can call 9-1-1, Max dies.
  2. With Max’s death, though Vecna is nowhere to be seen, his plan is carried out and the fourth gate opens in Hawkins.
  3. Four giant fault lines crack through the earth beginning at the gates — one flaming right through Jason’s body, killing him — and come together in the center of the town to create a huge rift into the Upside Down.

Inside Max’s mind, Eleven reaches out to her friend and tells her she can’t go yet, and Eleven manages to somehow use her powers to bring Max back from the dead. Two days later, Will, Mike, Argyle, Jonathan and Eleven make it to Hawkins and discover that Max is still alive but in a coma in the hospital with Lucas and Erica at her side.

Lucas confirms that Max did die, as her heart stopped for a full minute before miraculously restarting with no explanation. When Eleven tries to go into her friend’s mind once more now that Max is in a coma, she finds it black and empty, unable to connect with even the mental part of Max. Hopper and Joyce Finally Kiss — and Break Out of Russia Among all the madness, there was some happiness that ensued.

While waiting for the helicopter to be fixed in Russia, Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winona Ryder), as he tells her that thinking about their date — and the food he will be eating — got him through his time in prison. Unfortunately, their make out session is interrupted by a call from Hawkins which lets them both know all of their children are in danger.

  1. So, they’re ready to fight.
  2. First, they have to break back into the prison and destroy the particles to weaken Vecna, then they can go home — so that’s exactly what they do.
  3. Hawkins Is In Trouble By the end of the finale, Joyce and Hopper make it back to Hawkins and reunite with their children, and El is brought to tears when she learns her father is still alive and embraces him.

There’s lot of hugging and happy crying. While everyone is back together, all is certainly not right in Hawkins. Will tells Mike that now that they are back in town, he can feel that Vecna is not dead, he’s just badly injured. While everyone is reuniting with Hopper and Joyce, Will reaches for the back of his neck, a move he made many times when he was controlled by the Mind Flayer, as he turns to see the sky darken.

  1. Then the people of Hawkins watch as Upside Down particles begin to fall from the sky in the real world.
  2. As the particles shift the green grass and colorful flowers of Hawkins into black-and-white death and decay in front of El and her friends, black smoke billows from the cracks leading to the Upside Down and red lightening crashes in the sky.

Then the show cuts to black, leaving “Stranger Things” fans to await the fifth and final season. : ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Finale: Everything That Happened — and Who Survived

How did Stranger Things Volume 2 end

Answered By: Jason Davis Date: created: Jun 14 2024

Hawkins and The Upside Down – Image via Netflix After Vecna reveals his plan for world domination to Nancy ( Natalia Dyer ), the Hawkins crew decides that it’s time to bring the fight to Vecna instead of waiting for him to strike again. Their plan has three parts. Group one, Max, Erica ( Priah Ferguson ), and Lucas ( Caleb McLaughlin ) go to the Creel House in Hawkins to lure Vecna to Max.

  1. Group two, Eddie ( Joseph Quinn ) and Dustin ( Gaten Matarazzo ) go to the Upside Down and lure the Demobats away from Vecna.
  2. Group three, Robin ( Maya Hawke ), Steve ( Joe Keery ), and Nancy also go to the Upside Down and plan to kill Vecna while his mind is focused on Max.
  3. Things start off according to the plan but go awry soon after they begin.

Nancy, Robin, and Steve make it to the Upside Down Creel House but are captured by Vecna’s vines as soon as they arrive. Eddie and Dustin are a little too successful in distracting the Demobats. They start to flee, as per the plan, but Eddie decides to stay behind and give the others as much time as he can.

Dustin goes back through the portal to try and save him, but he’s too late and Eddie dies in his arms, While Max is entranced by Vecna, Jason ( Mason Dye ) attacks Lucas while Erica is momentarily captured by one of his jock cronies. Jason destroys Max’s “Running Up That Hill” tape during the fight, leaving Lucas unable to bring her back that way once she starts floating.

El is able to stop Vecna from absorbing all of Max’s mind, but once she returns to our world, her body isn’t able to handle what she went through. With Vecna distracted by El, Nancy, Robin, and Steve are able to escape the vines and wound him. Unfortunately, because Max does die briefly, Vecna’s plan still moves forward and the portals to the Upside Down expand.
