Who all dies in Season 4 of Stranger Things

Answered By: Keith Thompson Date: created: Jun 10 2023

Season 4’s death count was almost even higher. Stranger Things 2 Warning: This post contains spoilers for Stranger Things season 4. The fourth season of Stranger Things featured the deaths of beloved (and not so beloved) characters, including Hellfire Club president and metalhead Eddie Munson ( Joseph Quinn ) and Dr.

Martin Brenner ( Matthew Modine ). As it turns out, another character narrowly avoided a grim fate. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer revealed that in an initial script, Enzo ( Tom Wlaschiha ), the Russian security guard who becomes imprisoned police chief Jim Hopper’s ( David Harbour ) confidante, did not make it out of Kamchatka.

“In terms of who makes it, who lives or dies, I think there was a version where Dimitri, a.k.a. Enzo, didn’t make it,” Matt told Collider, At first an untrustworthy ally, Enzo helps Hopper burst out of the high-security prison. But not so much out of the goodness of his own heart — it’s all about the Benjamins, baby.

He’s in cahoots with a kooky pilot named Yuri (Nikola Djuricko), who double crosses the both of them — as well as the unassuming Joyce ( Winona Ryder ) and Murray (Brett Gelman) in exchange for even more Benjamins, baby. (The same, of course, cannot be said for another Russian fan favorite, the Slurpee-loving Alexei, in season 3.

RIP. Gone but never forgotten.) “But that’s radical of a departure from the original idea versus what we ended up with.” Ross added that it’s unusual for them to deviate from initial scripts. “When we’re breaking a season, that is one of the first things we’re talking about is, ‘Where do we want this story to end up?’ So the ending is always that goal post.

Even as we’re breaking episode one, we know exactly where we’re going. I don’t think we’ve deviated truly in any season for the finale, we’ve always stuck to it. I believe the case is the same here.” Natalie Dyer, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Maya Hawke, Sadie Sink, and Caleb McLaughlin on ‘Stranger Things’ Natalie Dyer, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Maya Hawke, Sadie Sink, and Caleb McLaughlin in ‘Stranger Things’ | Credit: Tina Rowden/Netflix The brothers previously revealed that they already know how the forthcoming fifth and final season will end — they’re just not quite sure how to get there yet.

One thing is for sure: Season 5 will be set entirely in Hawkins, following a season 4 that also spanned California and Russia. “We wanna go back to a lot of the things we did in season 1,” Matt said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast Monday. “A lot of the original groupings and pairings that we had in season 1 – there’s something nice about coming full circle.” Ross said of the ending, “While a lot of season 5 is actually pretty blurry, the last 30 minutes of it are pretty clear in our heads.

So if we can make the journey entertaining, I think that we have an end that will hopefully satisfy. You can’t satisfy everyone, but the hope is that it’s something that feels right for this story.” They also said Eddie’s death will have “huge repercussions” amongst the survivors.

Who dies at the end of Stranger Things?

Dr. Martin Brenner/Papa – Stranger Things 4 Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) are back at it in the ‘Stranger Things’ season 4 finale episodes. | Credit: Netflix Brenner ( Matthew Modine ) actually dies this time. No seemingly getting devoured by a demogorgon off-screen only to come back three seasons later.

Although, it seems we might never find out how Papa survived that season 1 attack. After regaining her powers in the NINA tank, Eleven ( Millie Bobby Brown ) is determined to return to Hawkins to save her friends before they get themselves killed by facing Vecna/Henry/One ( Jamie Campbell Bower ) in the Upside Down.

Brenner had other plans. His men beat the heck out of Dr. Sam Owens ( Paul Reiser ), while Brenner drugs Eleven and puts an electric collar around her neck. He wants to continue their work in the tank so he knows for sure she’s strong enough to face Vecna.

  • Even though Eleven gets some good telekinetic punches in, that’s not what kills him. Lt. Col.
  • Jack Sullivan (Sherman Augustus), still believing Eleven is causing the horrors in Hawkins, leads his forces on an assault on Brenner’s underground desert lab.
  • Brenner tries carrying Eleven to safety and gets shot up a bunch of times by a sniper in a helicopter — before Eleven uses her powers to blow the crap out of that bird.

Adding more confirmation that he’s truly dead this time, Brenner gives a final exhale as he goes still on the ground.

Does Nancy die in Stranger Things

Answered By: Christopher Green Date: created: Sep 12 2023

1. Is Nancy OK? – How did Nancy escape from Vecna’s clutches? Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Yes! Nancy (Natalia Dyer) is fine — at least, as fine as she can be after being traumatized by Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and almost strangled to death by his squelchy, squelchy tentacles,

  1. Instead of escaping Vecna’s Mind Lair by hearing her favorite song, Nancy is actually released by Vecna himself.
  2. Her freedom comes with a price: He gives her a vision of his plans for Hawkins and tells her to pass that message on to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
  3. A more efficient villain may have just killed Nancy as the fourth sacrifice and ended the world right then and there, but Vecna knows we have a 4-hour runtime to kill.

So he sends Nancy on her merry way. Honestly, the biggest tragedy of this storyline is not figuring out Nancy’s favorite song, Is it Madonna? Bowie? Blondie? The world needs to know!

But does it end Vecna’s curse? Does it demolish the Upside Down and save Hawkins? Stranger Things Season 4 review | If you still have doubts about what conspired in the supernatural-horror series by the end of season four, here’s a breakdown of its ending. Stranger Things 4 revealed the main villain of the show – Vecna. (Photo: Screengab/Netflix) Eleven gets back her memories and the realisation that the Upside Down came into being because of her. Nancy, on the other hand, is stuck in Vecna’s realm. Will, Mike, Jonathan and Argyle are off to project Nina to rescue Eleven.

Also, Hopper has reunited with Joyce in the Russian jail. *SPOILERS AHEAD* takes off from here. Nancy is still in Mind Lair, an imaginary location inside Vecna’s mind. But the villain doesn’t kill her, rather makes her see the fate of her friends and her hometown. Nancy returns and makes a plan with her friends to deliberately enter Upside Down and attack Vecna.

Max, who’s been Vecna’s target all this while, offers to be the bait. They gather weapons and proceed to Eddie’s trailer which is also a portal to the other dimension. Also read | Actor Sadie Sink as Max is receiving a lot of praise for giving a power packed performance in Stranger Things 4 Volume 2. (Photo: Screengrab/Netflix) In the meantime, Eleven is taken captive by Doctor Brenner who refuses to let her go as she isn’t ready to fight Vecna yet.

Eleven and her Papa have a massive showdown. Just then, their secret lab gets attacked by US forces. Brenner helps Eleven to escape. She also realises her powers are back. Mike and Will arrive and take Eleven away, who later makes a plan to fight Vecna by entering Max’s memories. Hopper, Joyce, Murray, Enzo and Yuri escape the Soviet prison.

But before embarking on their US return, they get the information about Hawkins being under threat by a new supernatural force. They also realise that there are more Demogorgan and Demodogs held captive in the jail for experiments. The group returns to the jail to kill the demon creators to weaken Vecna, as all of them are connected. Eddie Munson, played by actor Joseph Quinn ended up becoming a fan-favourite character by end of Stranger Things 4 Volume 2. (Photo: Screengrab/Netflix) Nancy, Robin and Steve, who were tasked to destroy Vecna’s body when his soul is inside Mind Lair, also get trapped by his tentacles.

  • Eddie and Dustin need to stop the Demobats at the doorway.
  • Eddie attracts the creatures’ attention by performing a Metallica number, dedicating it to Chrissy.
  • But they eventually face difficulty, and try to escape the Upside Down.
  • Pushing Dustin out of the realm, Eddie goes back with the pledge to not run away this time.

He tries to buy more time and cycles around to keep the Demobats distracted. The bats, however, attack and kill him. Dustin returns to Upside Down and Eddie dies in his arms. Chrissy’s boyfriend Jason Carver reaches Creel House and finds Max in trance. He gets into a scuffle with Lucas, asking him to wake her up right away. Stranger Things 4 Volume 2’s last shot showed Hawkins burning. (Photo: Screengrab/Netflix) Nancy, Steve and Robin get freed too. They rush to find Vecna’s body and burn it down. With this Vecna’s soul turns to ash in front of Eleven. Max’s dies in Lucas’ arms, thus getting Vecna his fourth kill.

The entire town opens up to Upside Down, with all portals dissolving. But, Eleven refuses to let Vecna win. Also read | After two days, Eleven returns to Hawkins to realise the government has declared Vecna’s attack as a massive earthquake. Her friends are helping out at the relief camp, but not revealing the reality.

Dustin has an emotional moment with Eddie’s uncle assuring him that Eddie wasn’t a serial killer, rather a hero who fought for his people. Eleven gets to know that Max, who died for ten-minutes, returned to life, but is paralysed and in coma. Hopper and Joyce return to Hawkins and reunite with their kids too.

Ends on a cliff-hanger again, as the audience doesn’t know how Eleven went back to fight Vecna to save Max. The last scene shows snow-like ash falling all over Hawkins, something similar to what we have seen in Upside Down. The entire group watches from a hill top as Hawkins burns post the so-called earthquake.

With the doorways opening up, it is but obvious that Vecna isn’t dead, and is expected to return in its fifth and final season. : Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 ending explained: Vecna’s fate, major deaths, season 5 tease and more

Who has the saddest death in Stranger Things?

Eddie Munson – Of all the fan-favorite characters who have been introduced in Stranger Things, only to die in the same season, Eddie Munson’s death is the most tragic. Determined not to be cowardly anymore and run from danger, Eddie chooses to stay in the Upside Down and take on the demobats by himself to buy Steve, Nancy, and Robin more time.

  1. While he holds them off for a bit, the bats eventually get the upper hand attacking Eddie until he bleeds to death.
  2. He eventually succumbs to his demobat injuries in the arms of Dustin.
  3. Before passing, he shares his final words to Dustin to take over and watch out for the Hellfire Club.
  4. Like Bob, Eddie’s death was entirely avoidable had he followed Dustin to safety.

But, in the end, the year 1986 was his year, and he died a hero, making it the most impactful death in the series by far. Sadly, many fans also feel he died in vain since Hawkins still thinks he was behind the murders. NEXT: 10 Most Emotional Quotes From Stranger Things Season 4, Vol.1

Does Eleven save Max

Answered By: Norman Cooper Date: created: May 12 2024

What Happened To Max In Season 4? – From the start of season 4 of Stranger Things, Max is in a rough spot. She’s having a hard time coping with the death of her brother Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) and feeling sad and uncomfortable because he was never nice to her. As Max listens to the Kate Bush song “Running Up That Hill,” which explores her grief, she wonders how to move forward.

  • The biggest villain of season 4 is Vecna, inspired by the Dungeons and Dragons character, who looks for people who are in bad places in their lives.
  • Vecna sees a lost soul in Max and wants to claim her and trap her in the Upside Down forever.
  • Vecna attacks Max the same way that he goes after all of his potential victims: by getting inside her head, making her hear a ticking clock, and trying to trap her with The Vines.

In episode 4 of season 4 of Stranger Things, “Dear Billy,” Vecna tries to kill Max. Her friends use the beautiful power of music, specifically “Running Up That Hill,” to bring her back. That works, but not for long. Vecna attacks Max for the second time at the end of season 4.

Why did Vecna let Nancy go

Answered By: Robert Foster Date: created: Jun 07 2023

– She explains that as a character who exhibits the behavior of a malignant narcissist, Vecna will have taken his rejection by Eleven in his revelatory origin sequence incredibly poorly. And while his usual modus operandi is to embody his victims’ negative self-talk (another very real psychological phenomenon), this time he is telling Nancy his plans and then releasing her so she can report back to everybody—Eleven included—that the end is nigh, with the goal of discouraging and disempowering them. Who is the evilest in Stranger Things?

Season 4 of Stranger Things is markedly distinct from its predecessors. Not only is it significantly darker than earlier episodes, but the latest season also unmasks the true face of the evil lurking behind the shadows. Twelve-year-old Henry Creel discovers his unique abilities and proceeds to use them without the slightest hint of responsibility.

Who dies in Stranger Things 4 Volume 1?

Virginia Creel, Alice Creel and Henry Creel – Prior to the events of Stranger Things 4, viewers find out that the Creel family were the victims of a brutal murder back in the ’50s. It’s assumed that Victor Creel, the father, was the one who killed his family.

  • We soon find out, via a flashback, that Victor actually believed a demon carried out the murders.
  • No one believed his story so he was eventually locked up and sent to a psychiatric hospital.
  • In episode 4, we see that Virginia is killed at the dining table in front of her family.
  • While Victor is caught in a trance as he tries to escape with his kids, his daughter Alice is killed.

When Victor returns to the real world, he finds his son Henry gravely injured. He then says that Henry slips into a coma and dies one week later. Unlike, Virginia and Alice, Henry’s bones were not broken and his eyes had not been taken. Who dies in Stranger Things 4 Volume 1? – The Creel Family. Picture: Netflix
