p”>
You can use WhatsApp internationally for free with Wi-Fi; depending on your cellular plan, you may incur international charges for using cellular data on WhatsApp. To preclude international data fees, you can turn roaming off on your phone and still use Wi-Fi. This story is a part of Business Insider’s Guide to WhatsApp.
WhatsApp has made international connectivity easier than ever. Since WhatsApp uses an internet connection, it’s possible to get around international calling restrictions and fees.
Can I use my UK phone in Europe?
Yes, you can use your mobile for calls, texts and to access the internet in the EU, it’s just that you might have to pay additional charges for roaming. Always check what your phone operator is likely to charge you before you set off.
Which EU countries roam like home
How does EU roaming work? – EU countries, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, have an agreement that allows residents to ‘roam like you’re at home’. If your phone is registered in one of these countries, this means you can use your domestic allowance of minutes, texts and data when travelling in these countries.
If you pay-as-you-go, you will be charged the same rates as in your home country. This includes making and receiving calls and sending texts between EU countries, This cap on additional charges has been in place since 2017 and was last year extended until 2032. However, there are ‘fair use’ limits placed on the amount of data you can use while travelling abroad, which depend on the type of contract you have.
Additional data charges are currently capped at €2 per gigabyte in the EU. This will decrease to €1 from 2027. EU roaming rules do not apply in Monaco, Switzerland or Turkey, among other countries.
Who does giffgaff use

Is EE and Tesco the same network?
Tesco Mobile uses O2’s network, which covers 99% of the population for 4G. That’s in line with all its household-name rivals, such as O2 and EE. O2’s 5G network is growing too and is now live in 194 locations, all of which are available to Tesco Mobile customers with 5G-compatible phones for no extra charge.
Is Vodafone Netherlands good
Our latest look at the Dutch mobile network experience reveals a hard-fought contest, with five out of nine awards being shared by two or more operators. KPN and T-Mobile are tied in that they both collect two awards outright along with five shared victories.
PN wins the Download Speed Experience and 4G Coverage Experience awards outright, while T-Mobile is the sole winner of the Excellent Consistent Quality and Core Consistent Quality awards. Vodafone is a joint winner across our three experiential awards for the overall experience of our users: Video Experience, Games Experience and Voice App Experience.
However, it does not win any other awards either outright or jointly, and trails both KPN and T-Mobile across both our speed metrics. In this report, we’ve analyzed our data gathered in the 90 day period starting on November 1, 2021, and ending on January 29, 2021, to see how the Netherlands’ three national operators — KPN, T-Mobile and Vodafone — stack up.

Is O2 a good network?
O2 coverage In fact, O2’s coverage is so good, other mobile networks actually pay to use its infrastructure. Of course, if you live in a rural area, chances are your signal will be lower than in a built-up area. To that end, we recommend checking the coverage in your area using O2’s postcode checker.
