What does Fred’s daughter do

Answered By: Lawrence Davis Date: created: Jun 23 2024

After winning double gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix is excited to continue growing her own profile without the aid of her famous father and First Dates host, Fred Video Loading Video Unavailable Fred Sirieix Reveals His Daughter Is Training For Olympics It wasn’t long ago that Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix was known for her famous father, but the diver has become a star in her own right over the past 12 months. Fred Sirieix, the much-loved maitre d’ from Channel 4’s First Dates, was in attendance when Andrea claimed double gold at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this year.

Having repeated that feat at the European Championships in August and medalled at the World Championships in July, Spendolini-Sirieix is fast becoming a household name without any aid from her TV personality parent. “It’s quite funny, I had an interaction with someone the other day,” Spendolini-Sirieix, 18, recounted to the PA news agency.

“I was with my mum, and (a man) just stopped and just pointed at me and went, ‘Well done! Well done’. Do you think Spendolini-Sirieix will medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics? Let us know in the comments section, “I didn’t know what to do. It feels a bit weird, because usually it’s my dad that’s recognised and I’m just there standing in the back.

But to know that my name is out there, I’m not just someone’s daughter. I’m actually doing something on my own and my name is appearing It feels good.” It was never guaranteed Spendolini-Sirieix would achieve diving stardom, particularly after a seventh-place finish in the women’s 10-metre platform at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics made her doubt her future in the sport.

Aged just 16 at the time of that final heartbreak, the teenager faced a battle of wills to double down in an effort to make up for that miss. A meteoric rise in 2022 has put paid to any doubts as to whether she belonged among the elite, however. After winning two gold medals in each of Birmingham and Rome, Spendolini-Sirieix is one of six finalists for BT Sport’s Action Woman Awards and is targeting her place at the 2024 Paris Olympics,

  1. Double Commonwealth Games and European champion Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix is forging her own spotlight ( Image: DAVE HUNT/EPA-EFE/REX/Shutterstock) “I was quite ready to pack my bags and be done,” she continued.
  2. It’s quite difficult to say that because I’ve put 10 years of hard work and time and effort and my family has sacrificed so much for my career.

“To think that at the beginning of the year I was going to throw it all away, before I was able to start reaping medals and victories It is quite difficult to look back on. I was so distraught, I was upset every single day, training was difficult, school was hard.” The emerging star looks back upon the Commonwealth Games as her “favourite competition so far,” a new experience competing in front of major audiences after the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Father Fred was among the loudest members of that Birmingham audience, but Spendolini-Sirieix deserves all the plaudits for her ongoing success since that meet. “They don’t get easier,” she added. “You can still physically do the dive, it’s your mentality and your fear of diving. Because as you get older, you think about the dangers of the sport.

When you’re younger you just think about the adrenaline, but as you grow you think well, actually, there are risks. “I think I was so focused on making sure I was perfect at everything, but I wasn’t thinking about myself. I wasn’t thinking about my well-being.

It’s quite hard to say but I didn’t love myself then. It was a lot of self-doubt. I was like a robot. “(But) I knew I had a little more in me. I knew there was a small part of me that didn’t want to give up.” Watch the 2022 BT Sport Action Woman of the Year Awards on Wednesday, November 16, live on BT Sport as well as Facebook and YouTube.

  • Have you started organising your stag do? Yes, it’s not that complicated.

I just have to make a couple of phone calls and it’s done. It will be a blast, no doubt. Fred Siriex spoke about whether he has seen his pals Gino D’Acampo and Gordon Ramsay recently (Image: ITV) Have you seen your pals Gino D’Acampo and Gordon Ramsay since making Gordon, Gino And Fred: Road Trip together? I saw Gino recently. We had a Zoom call together for a catch-up.

  • We were so loud – no surprises there! – and Fruitcake was working from home that day.
  • She burst into the kitchen, as she was taking an important meeting.
  • She has a very serious job so she was very mad.
  • So I finished the call quite quickly and got out of the house! Ha! How did you meet your fiancée? I was walking down the street, and we just started talking and went for a drink together – and that was that.

We were just in the right place. There was a kiss at the end, too. I was filming some First Dates scenes recently and I asked one girl, who was about 17, “Are you going to kiss them if you like them?” She said, “Oh no. Who do you think I am? I’m not that kind of girl.” But I was like, “Who’s judging you? I’m not!” Does this happen often on the show? It all comes down to all these preconceived ideas that we are brought up with. Fred Siriex says we need to challenge the misconceptions of dating (Image: Channel 4 / Joseph Scanlon) Prior to meeting Fruitcake, what’s the worst date you’ve ever been on? The worst date is when you want to kiss the girl and she doesn’t want to kiss you.

  • That’s the worst thing.
  • At the end of the day, I don’t remember having a bad date.
  • When I was dating, I was very excited about meeting new people and getting to know them.
  • You’re only going to want to kiss somebody if you feel there’s a connection.
  • But with love, sometimes somebody has a connection and the other person doesn’t.

It’s just like when people break up. Somebody knows they’re going to break up and somebody doesn’t, it’s just the way it goes. Become an OK! Fred Siriex said his two children are the best thing he has ever done (Image: Fred Siriex Instagram) You’re a proud dad of two. Do you think either of your children will follow in your footsteps? My children are the best thing I’ve done and the best thing I will ever do.

They will do what they will do. As long as they’re happy, that’s all I’m interested in. I’m there to support them in everything they do in life. In terms of your career, could you ever be tempted to sign up for I’m A Celebrity.? Who knows? I was talking to Ant and Dec not so long ago when we were working on a show together, and I was praising them for the show.

It was a very different show last year, as it wasn’t in Australia, and they had all the problems with the weather. I think there was a lot of drama in the beginning with the upstairs/downstairs set up they had, and it was really interesting. It was almost like a psychological drama.

  1. I really liked the dynamics between everyone in there, I thought it was fascinating to watch.
  2. Finally, tell us about your role as an ambassador with King C Gillette? Gillette is a brand I have always loved and it has become a one stop shop for male grooming.
  3. I didn’t have a beard until eight or nine years ago, and then I grew it.

The way I grew up, my dad was always shaved before going to work. And when I started catering college, everybody had to be clean-shaven. So, it’s taken me a long time to find the courage and the confidence to grow my beard. Now that I have it, I’m completely obsessed with my beard and grooming.
