What happened to Kerry and Al in Emmerdale?
Angry Emmerdale fans slammed Kerry Wyatt’s ‘unrealistic’ exit from the soap on Friday night. Actress Laura Norton, who plays Kerry, has just given birth to her second child and is on maternity leave. To cover her exit, the Emmerdale character decided to leave the village after discovering her dead fiancé Al’s affair.
- While Kerry remains unaware that it was Chas Dingle who was cheating with her partner, Chas has been doing everything she can to keep it this way and prompted her to get away.
- As Kerry revealed she would be heading to work on a cruise ship with no reveal as to when she would return, fans took to social media to question the storyline.

Does Chas find out about Kyle?
Emmerdale fans reckon that producers are trying to ‘warm’ them to Chas, after tonight’s emotional scene between her and Kyle. Following Kyle’s recent confession for killing Al, Chas has been left conflicted by her feelings towards the youngster. Though Chas has been battling with wanting to hate Kyle for killing her lover, her pity for him has recently been buoyed by Charity insisting that he must surely be struggling, too.
- In tonight’s episode, Charity gave Chas a good talking to about how much Kyle will likely be suffering with the guilt of his own actions, insisting that Chas forgive him.
- And so, in a bid to be the bigger person, Chas sat down with Kyle and Amy to clear the air.
- Yle, visibly upset and crying, told Chas that it was an “accident” and said that he was sorry.

But Chas, remaining cool and composed, told him that she does not hate him. “It’s my fault he’s dead”, Kyle said, but Chas was quick to put his guilty conscience at ease, despite her own sadness at the situation. She told him: “It wasn’t just down to you, it might seem that way but it doesn’t mean that you’re the one to blame.
You walked into an adults row and you panicked. Course I’m upset, but I do understand.” Kyle then told Chas that he had hated “keeping it a secret” and that he was desperate to tell the truth. Chas replied: “And I am so glad you did sweetheart, because it shows what a good person you are and sometimes good people do bad things, but that doesn’t make them evil.” She then told Kyle that the two of them will have to “try and live with it together”, as she cemented her forgiveness for the boy that killed the man she loved.
- But Emmerdale fans, far from being impressed with Chas’ moment of selflessness, think that Emmerdale producers are trying to ‘warm’ them to her.
- Gemmaedwards91 said: “sorry but chas cannot be redeemed now she so up herself its unbelieveable she still is and will always be a b***end she not as loved and adored as she thinks she is cain and paddy absolutely despise her”.

On August 25, 2020, Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old from Antioch, Illinois, fatally shot two men and wounded another man in Kenosha, Wisconsin, The shootings occurred during the protests, riots, and civil unrest that followed the shooting of Jacob Blake,
Race was a major theme in U.S. media commentary, although Rittenhouse and those he shot were white. Rittenhouse was armed with an AR-15 style rifle and had joined a group of armed people in Kenosha who said that they were in Kenosha to protect businesses. Joseph Rosenbaum, a 36-year-old unarmed Kenosha man, ran at Rittenhouse and threw a plastic shopping bag of clothing at him, which Rittenhouse testified he believed was a chain.
Rittenhouse shot Rosenbaum four times at close range. Rittenhouse fled and was pursued by a crowd. Anthony Huber, a 26-year-old-resident of Silver Lake, was fatally shot once in the chest by Rittenhouse after he struck Rittenhouse with his skateboard and struggled with him for control of the rifle.
Gaige Grosskreutz, a 26-year-old West Allis man who pointed a handgun at Rittenhouse, was shot by Rittenhouse once in the right arm and survived. Kenosha County prosecutors charged Rittenhouse with two counts of homicide, one count of attempted homicide, two counts of reckless endangerment, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, and one count of curfew violation.
His trial lasted from November 1 to 19, 2021. Prosecutors sought to show Rittenhouse as a criminal gunman, while defense lawyers argued that Rittenhouse had acted in self-defense, asserting that his attackers were part of a mob that “attacked him in the street like an animal” and that he used force necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself.
- Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed the unlawful possession charge and the curfew violation charge for being legally unsupported, and a jury found Rittenhouse not guilty of the remaining charges.
- Public sentiment of the shootings was polarized and media coverage both polarized and politicized.
- Multiple right-wing politicians and figures welcomed Rittenhouse’s acquittal, stating that the shootings were self-defense,
President Joe Biden called for the jury’s verdict to be respected, although stated that the verdict “will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included.” Multiple Democratic politicians and figures criticized the verdict as a miscarriage of justice, saying that the acquittal was emblematic of racial double standards in the American justice system.

He told them: ‘What happened yesterday, Kyle shoving Carl. It was down to me. Kyle being around me, it’s not good for him. Seeing the way I act, flying off the handle, he’s better off with you.’ Despite Moira’s complete shock, Cain then voiced his opinion that Amy and Matty should move away to Belfast with Kyle to give the youngster a fresh start in a dramatic U-turn.

Walking out the door, Kyle said: ‘Everyone does something bad sometimes, even you I bet. I need my dad, don’t make me go.’ Amy was then seen bringing Kyle around to Cain and Moira’s house so that he could visit his father, when she revealed her U-turn decision.
She told them: ‘We’re not going, I can’t take him away from you. We need to do the right thing.’ To which Cain said: ‘But sole custody? It’s what you wanted.’ But Amy explained: ‘ entitled to make his own decisions about his future. This isn’t me giving into his tears it just doesn’t feel right, it feels like we’re punishing him for our mistakes.’ As Cain looked doubtful, Kyle told him: ‘I know right from wrong, I’m not like you!’ Before the youngster asked his mother: ‘So I can live with them? Forever?’ Amy replied: ‘If your dad agrees.’ After Kyle and Cain shared a hug, a tearful Amy told Cain: ‘You’re his idol, Cain.
Never underestimate what that means.’ It came after Cain enlisted help from his estranged brother Caleb in the battle over Kyle’s future and Amy resorted to desperate measures to gain full custody of Kyle. Does Amy get custody of Kyle in Emmerdale?
Amy’s broken by how things have turned out (Picture: ITV) Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) was left heartbroken at the end of tonight’s Emmerdale, as she was forced to say goodbye to son Kyle (Huey Quinn). Last night, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) made the decision that Kyle would be better off living with Amy, as he was afraid that his own behaviour had influenced Kyle’s violent tendencies.
- Tonight saw the parents put this plan into action, as they planned for Amy and Kyle to move back to Belfast.
- However, things weren’t going to be as simple as that, with Kyle deciding that he didn’t want to go.
- With Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) also against the move, Amy was left to have a difficult conversation with Kyle about what he really wanted.
Kyle admitted that he didn’t want to leave Isaac and the rest of his family behind, and that moving away wasn’t going to change who he was. He went on to explain how he and Cain do activities together, like fixing cars and making dens out of hay. It seemed that Kyle’s words had an impact on Amy, as they headed back to Butlers farm to break the news that Kyle would be staying.
- At first Cain seemed apprehensive, but Amy soon made it clear that Kyle had shown that he had grown up, and was capable of making his own decisions.
- She admitted that it felt like they were punishing Kyle for their failings, and that that didn’t feel right.
- Ultimately, Cain was won over, and Kyle was allowed to stay.
It was then that Amy left, and ended up breaking down outside the front door. How will Amy cope not having full custody of Kyle?
