Who has left Strictly 2022

Answered By: Gregory Nelson Date: created: Feb 12 2024

Ellie Simmonds – Eliminated in Week 7 – Professional dance partner: Nikita Kuzmin Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds has become the latest celebrity contestant to leave Strictly 2022. Ellie and partner Nikita were only five points off the top of the leaderboard after their lively Charleston to Too Darn Hot from the musical Kiss Me, Kate, but when the public vote was added they were placed in the bottom two alongside Molly and Carlos, who had picked up three 9s for their Foxtrot.

Head judge Shirley Ballas declared their dance off one of the best she’d ever seen, but all four judges voted to save Molly. “I’ve literally had the time of my life. It’s been the most incredible experience – life changing really,” Ellie said after her elimination was confirmed. “I want to thank Nikita ever so much.

I’m going to miss him – he’s changed my life and confidence. I seem confident but you know what I’m like, I worry about everything so so much and we’ve literally represented everything. “We went out there any danced our life out every single night and I loved it so much.”

Who went out in Strictly Week 5 2022

Answered By: Diego Moore Date: created: Jan 01 2024

Strictly Come Dancing: week five results – as it happened Show key events only Please turn on JavaScript to use this feature And Week 5 is DONE – let’s never speak of it again. Thank you SO much for keeping me company and being brilliantly funny down below.

Next week we’ll reconvene for the HALLOWEEN SPECIAL, so don’t forget your spooky snacks and ghoulish gladrags. Kick off is at 6.50pm, so I’ll see you then! Hx It’s clear that Strictly has been a religious experience for Jayde, and she and Karen have brought so much joy to the dancefloor this year. They say lovely things about each other and the Strictly team, then take to the floor to dance their final dance to ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’.

Exiting Strictly to this song in that wig seems like a double blow, somehow. ‘Well, it’s terrible really,’ says Anton, in a fleeting moment of self-awareness. All the judges save Molly and Carlos, including Shirley. Which means JAYDE AND KAREN are leaving Strictly this week.

  • And now Jayde and Karen are doing their Charleston again.
  • I worried last night that this wouldn’t work as a two-minute track – the comedy of the song only comes through in its five-minute glory.
  • So this dance needed to be either hilariously clever and funny or brilliantly danced, and sadly this was neither.

Molly and Carlos are up first, dancing their Couple’s Choice to the Grange Hill theme tune. There’s very little you can do with this music – like most theme tunes, it doesn’t really go anywhere. So an A to Carlos/the Strictly choreos for effort, even though it’s a C minus for execution.

  • Definitely not going in the Strictly Hall of Fame, this one.
  • Next week is the Halloween Spooktacular.
  • My beloved, who probably watches about four minutes of Strictly each week then mysteriously disappears to his workshop, has just said ‘ANOTHER theme week?’ Yes, my love, and you’re in charge of snacks.

So who’s joining Molly and Carlos in tonight’s dance-off? Hamza and Jowita are safe, along with Fleur and Vito, Ellie T and Johannes, Ellie S and Nikita and Tyler and Dianne! Which means JAYDE AND KAREN in the bottom two! That should easily go Molly and Carlos’s way, and Jayde clearly knows it.

Also loving Shirley’s peach satin 70s housecoat, but it needs a pair of fluffy mules. Time for a musical interlude, courtesy of British singer Becky Hill. To be honest, I had to go and look her up because I’m 104. She’s singing a medley of her greatest hits whilst dressed as some fairground candyfloss.

Would 100% wear that outfit to Lidl, I love it. Dance-wise, Giovanni and Luba are being fabulous and sexy. More of them please. Someone has asked in the comment box if I’m in a bad mood. NO! I’m rarely in a bad mood. Will endeavour to be more sparkly. So who’s safely through to next week’s HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR? (dear god help us).

  1. James and Amy are safe, along with Kym and Graziano, Helen and Gorka, Will and Nancy and Tony and Katya.
  2. First couple in the bottom two: MOLLY AND CARLOS! Eek, wasn’t expecting that, but it seems only right that last night’s madness would be followed up by a bottom two hot mess.
  3. Having said that, I wouldn’t want to be up against M&C in the dance-off.

Last night on Strictly: somebody wiser than me once said that ‘madness lies somewhere between chaos and having a dream’. The dream was worthy, but the execution was very much on the chaos/madness border, heading south. Highlights: Kym’s dress, Ellie and Nikita’s Paso Doble, Johannes being Johannes, the opening pro dance.

  1. Lowlights: literally everything else.
  2. And we’re off! TESS AND CLAUDIA DRESS WATCH: Tess in red bandages, Claudia in something else but I was too transfixed by the red bandages.
  3. Cue some slightly ropey editing, explaining that the following pro dance is a tribute to the BBC’s natural history programming.

If you have to explain it, it probably isn’t a very good dance. Did anyone ask Attenborough if he minded narrating Dianne wafting her dress and Nadiya flying over the Borehamwood savannah like some kind of climate change angel? God, this is dreadful. Well, that Antiques Roadshow was fabulous – enjoyed that very much.

Who went out of Strictly Week 7 2022?

Strictly Come Dancing: week seven results – as it happened Show key events only Please turn on JavaScript to use this feature Well, that was emotional. Thank you all for joining in, has been one of my favourite Strictly weeks in ages. I’m off to do some out-of-time clapping in the Strictly studio next Saturday, so I’m leaving a supply teacher in charge of the liveblog – no idea who, but I’m sure they’ll be FABULOUS. A final dance for Ellie and Nikita Photograph: Guy Levy/BBC/PA I know the pros and celebs say lovely things about each other every week (friends for life, always), but it’s clear that the relationship between Ellie and Nikita has been something incredibly special.

It’s been a genuinely life-changing experience for Ellie, and I don’t think we’ll ever forget what she’s brought to the Strictly dancefloor. Who’s crying? I’m crying. All the judges vote to save Molly and Carlos, including Shirley. Which means ELLIE AND NIKITA are leaving the Strictly ballroom. Curse of the middle table, but also the curse of the Charleston.

That’s four out of six so far. Farewell to Ellie and Nikita Photograph: Guy Levy/BBC/PA Molly and Carlos are up first – the sugary theming of this Foxtrot was far too cutesy for me, but it’s a lovely dance from Molly – she’s one of the strongest dancers in the competition and she absolutely deserves to stay.

That said, this Charleston from Ellie S is also a brilliant showcase of the flawless partnership between her and Nikita – she’s been an outstanding performer from Week 1 and she also deserves to stay. Funny thing is, if Craig had just given Ellie T the six she deserved this probably wouldn’t have happened.

It’s a strange old world. So who’s joining Ellie and Nikita in the bottom two? Helen and Gorka are safe, along with Will and Nancy, Tyler and Dianne and Kym and Graziano. Which means MOLLY AND CARLOS are in the dance off. WELL. That means the public saved Will, Tyler, Ellie T and Tony, AND gave Fleur a week off.

Molly was FOURTH on the leaderboard, out of ten couples. Neither Ellie S OR Molly deserve to go home, in my opinion – they are both fabulous. I suspect it might be Ellie Simmonds who ends up leaving, which is actually quite upsetting. Time for a musical interlude, courtesy of stage/screen actor Luke Evans.

He’s singing the Simon and Garfunkel classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, from his album A Song For You, It’s a beautiful song and Luke is a fabulous singer, very much enjoying this. Can we just have turtlenecked Welsh singers who sound brilliant live, every week? I’d be totally fine with that.

Ai and Nadiya are dancing, and now I’m thinking about how much Kai looks like Luke Evans. We all know that Kai and Nadiya are dating, right? Their Instagram is just one giant heart-eyes emoji. Also I’ve just looked up who’s doing the Sunday turn next weekend when I’m in the studio, and it’s Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Zak Abel.

Love a cello, and very hope Zak is singing this song because it’s GORGEOUS. So who is safely through to next week? Ellie and Johannes are safe, along with Fleur and Vito, Hamza and Jowita and Tony and Katya. First couple in the bottom two: ELLIE S AND NIKITA.

Eek, that’s a big chunk of the bottom of the leader board safe, then – never let it be said your votes don’t count, for better or worse. The only ones on the leaderboard below Ellie S were Tyler and Will, so I’d argue whoever goes tonight probably shouldn’t. Last night on Strictly: an evening of pure joy, unencumbered by wigs and props and random themes.

We don’t ask for much around here, but can we have more of this please? Highlights : great dancing all round, and a brilliant effort from both the naturally gifted and the triers. You can tell how much everyone is loving the journey, and it makes for great telly.

  • Also I’m obsessed with Imelda Shirley’s tiny shoe collection – absolutely going in next week’s bingo.
  • Lowlights : Inconsistent scoring, poppies so ubiquitous they ceased to have meaning, this week’s judge/presenter wardrobe – barely had we got our head round Claudia’s wizard pyjamas when Motsi came out dressed as a split condom and Shirley danced down the stairs in a pubic jumpsuit.

Tess in a sparkly shirt, Claudia in a black jacket with a weird bra. SO much better than last night, in every possible way. Tonight’s opening pro dance brings a bit of commercial Bollywood to the Strictly dancefloor. It features Michelle and the rest of Strictly pro crew, along with Bollywood dancer Ramzan and a few of his backing dancers.

Who left Strictly Week 8?

Sunday 13 November 2022, 20:00 Tony Adams and his Pro partner Katya Jones became the seventh couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing after making the decision to withdraw from the competition. The pair performed a Jive to Land of 1000 Dances by Wilson Pickett on Saturday night, but found themselves in the bottom two after the Judges’ scores had been combined with the public vote. Tony and Katya were set to face Tyler West and Dianne Buswell, but the Dance Off did not go ahead.

  • Tess explained: “Due to an injury sustained on Saturday night, Tony is unable to take part in the Dance Off and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
  • This means there will be no Dance Off tonight and Tyler and Dianne are through to Blackpool.” Following the decision, Head Judge Shirley Ballas said: “Tony, from the very first moment you stepped foot on the floor with your Tango, to the last moment and the last kick, you have given us 100% of your heart.

You have grown week after week after week, you have become one of the nation’s favourite entertainers. On behalf of the Judges, we’ve enjoyed watching every second, you are truly what this show is all about, and we can only wish you the very best as you move forward. When asked by Tess about his time on the show, Tony said: “I came in here with one message, if you’ve got an issue with mental health then please don’t suffer in silence and reach out for help.” “Little did I know that I was going to learn a lot about myself in the process.

  • I thought this ‘journey’ rubbish was nonsense, but my god the rollercoaster of emotion.
  • I’ve got to be honest, it’s tough, physically it’s really tough out there, but dancing is really fantastic for you.
  • Go out there and enjoy it and pick up new skills and explore.
  • I suppose I had better mention this one hadn’t I, she is an exceptional human being, she really is.” Katya was then asked if she had any words for her partner, saying: “Tony Adams, I will be forever grateful that I was partnered up with you, do you know what I loved? I loved us, I loved that we didn’t care what people thought, we did every single dance our way! You have come here with a message, you led by example, and put yourself out there, and showed everyone you can do anything.

And everyone deserves love and to be loved! I love you.” From their Fully Monty Samba to their Halloween Quickstep, Tony and Katya have entertained us to the fullest over the past eight weeks. Their absence will really be felt in the Ballroom, but you can catch them together for one last time on Monday’s It Takes Two, 6.30pm on BBC Two.
