Week 11: Victoria Goulbourne and Dani Donovan – Victoria Goulboure, Dani Donovan and Megan Hornby all left the show this week (BBC).

  1. It’s week 11 and with Lord Sugar’s group of business hopefuls dwindling, everyone has to be on top form to ensure they make it to next week’s final.
  2. During this series’ penultimate episode, remaining contestants Marnie Swindells, Victoria Goulboure, Rochelle Raye Anthony, Dani Donovan and Megan Hornby had their business plans put under the microscope — but the process proved too much for three entrepreneurs.
  3. After having their ideas scrutinized by industry experts Claude Littner, Karren Brady, Linda Plant and Mike Soutar, Lord Sugar ultimately decided to give Dani Donovan, Megan Hornby and Victoria Goulbourne the boot.

“The thing is Victoria there is nothing unique about your business. Frankly, you know I am not sweet on your idea I’m afraid,” Lord Sugar told sweet shop owner Goulbourne before letting her go from the competition.

  • Next up was Donovan, and Lord Sugar didn’t hold back: “Your business plan was really, really bad,” he told the hair salon owner,” adding “I am not sure there’s going to be any extension to your time in this process.”
  • However, just when viewers thought two firings were shocking enough, the show’s big boss decided to fire Hornby from the process too, in a move inspired by following his gut.

Who got fired from The Apprentice Week 8

Answered By: Julian Price Date: created: May 08 2024

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The latest candidate fired from The Apprentice has revealed that for a moment, they thought that it was certain they’d be safe after Lord Alan Sugar delivered a huge boardroom twist.

  1. In week 8 of the BBC competition, the contestants were tasked with creating and selling immersive experiences for paying customers, enticing them with charismatic acting, gourmet meals and jaw-dropping entertainers.
  2. Of course, the task didn’t go completely to plan, with the team who put on a jail experience spending far too much on the food and entertainer, while also failing to properly inform several customers what they were getting themselves in for, resulting in some being left shocked by the pretend prison officers shouting in their faces.

In the end, Lord Sugar decided it was project manager Mark Moseley’s turn to take the blame, who spoke to Metro.co.uk after his elimination. The entrepreneur, who owns a pest control business, recalled how taken aback he was when in the boardroom, he wasn’t given the choice to decide which two of his teammates he would bring back with him, as is usually the case for project managers. Mark soon realised his assumption was incorrect (Picture: BBC/Fremantlemedia Limited) ‘I did actually say, Simba and Megan, I’m gonna bring them, because you can’t pay £31.50 for a burger and chips. And he said, “No you’re not, you’re bringing them two in,”‘ Mark recalled.

‘I had this whole speech plan. I thought well, obviously he doesn’t want me to go, he must want Dani or Victoria to go, because he’s bringing them two in. So I thought well, that’s alright, I’m gonna leave this speech for another time.’ So when Mark was fired in the end, it was ‘a bit of a shock to the system’.

Mark explained that he didn’t intend on bringing Dani and Vic back with him, as they’d both been on his sub-team, which is why he would have gone for Simba and Megan. Mark would have brought Simba and Megan back with him if he had the choice (Picture: BBC/Fremantlemedia Limited) Nonetheless, he added that Simba and Megan were also ‘great’, having thoroughly entertained the guests in the immersive jail experience, so it was always going to be a tricky decision. Mark’s exit means there’s now eight candidates left (Picture: BBC/Fremantlemedia Limited) However, there wasn’t any bad blood between them when Mark made his departure, as he revealed they had a chance to say goodbye in an off-camera moment. ‘Not that it was in the edit, but I gave Vic and Dani a hug goodbye when I left the boardroom, so that was nice.

Then yeah, that was it. Job done. Here we are,’ he said. The Apprentice returns next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Got a story? Who was fired in The Apprentice Week 4?

Denisha had the finger pointed at her this week (Picture: BBC/Fremantle Media/Ray Burmiston) This week’s episode of The Apprentice saw the remaining candidates take part in one of the series’ most iconic challenges, when the teams were tasked with sourcing a list of items for the least amount of money.

  • Having travelled to Brighton for week 4, the participants wandered from shop to shop trying to find all of the required objects, from a trug basket to a nautical barometer.
  • Purchasing all of the items on the list wasn’t the only obstacle they faced, as they also had to ensure that they did it in the time limit and made sure that the objects were accurate to the specifications they’d been provided with.

In the end, project manager Denisha Kaur Bharj was fired by Lord Alan Sugar after her team lost, and she spoke to Metro.co.uk about what it was like taking part in the manic task, before coming face to face with the business magnate in the boardroom.

‘Nobody wants to go, we’re all there for the investment. There is a lot of hard work that goes into just prepping and going onto the process,’ she said. Referencing fellow candidates Mark Moseley and Reece Donnelly, who she brought back into the boardroom with her as the trio individuals at risk of being eliminated, she added: ‘Mark and Reece are really lovely, and I know they just worked really hard on the task as much as it didn’t go well.

I didn’t really want to see them go home either.’ The entrepreneur was grateful for the opportunity to receive mentorship from Lord Sugar (Picture: Ray Burmiston/BBC/PA) While her team lost, one of the reasons being that they incurred a fine, there was a moment when Karren Brady and Tim Campbell were revealing the results that Denisha thought there was a possibility that her team had snagged the win.

Her team bought the wig that was on the list for a far cheaper price than the opposing team but it wasn’t quite enough to secure the victory. ‘The whole day was crazy. We were really working so hard to try and get all the items on the list. I think the negotiation I did with the wigs, at that point when Lord Sugar did announce what the other team had paid for their wigs, I was like, “Ooh, maybe we’ve got this,”‘ she recalled.

‘It was a good day, apart from running up and down Brighton Pier. I wasn’t expecting that.’ When asked whether she thought at that moment that maybe her team had won, the businesswoman added: ‘Yeah, because it was a really big difference with what the other team had paid.

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video ‘But obviously where they had obviously managed to get all the items, we hadn’t got all the items and I think one of them was incorrect, we got a fine.’ While Denisha was disappointed to leave at that point in the process, she was grateful that Lord Sugar ‘saw the person I am’, and that Karren praised her negotiating skills in the boardroom for everyone to hear.

‘I definitely think when Karen saw me negotiating, that was really good because she actually highlighted that too in the boardroom to Lord Sugar. So that was really nice, being able to showcase the negotiation I did,’ she said. ‘I think I definitely showcased myself throughout the whole process.’ Karren shone a positive spotlight on Denisha in the boardroom (Picture: BBC/PA) As for what Denisha has planned in the near future, the entrepreneur is going to be launching a new product, her lash shampoo, as well as preparing to welcome a baby to the family.

‘I’m going to be launching my new product, the lash shampoo, for lash extensions and strip lashes. I’m hoping to get into Boots and Superdrug, into the big high street stores as well,’ she explained. ‘While I’m building that I’m actually expecting as well, so we’re building a family as well. So there’s a lot, it’s been a crazy year.

When I left the process and they asked me how I felt at that point, I was saying to them everything happens for a reason. So you do your best and you can only hope to get so far.’ Ahead of the birth of her first baby, Denisha has been trying to work with her suppliers to get all of her orders in, while juggling looking at all of the baby products she needs at the same time.

‘I’m like looking at baby stuff and what do you get and what nappies are these it’s been a lot of things. We were looking at buggies yesterday. Oh my god, the amount of buggies there are it’s ridiculous!’ she shared. The Apprentice returns next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Got a story? The two were fired by Lord Sugar alongside Megan Hornby (Picture: BBC) The Apprentice stars Dani Donovan and Victoria Goulbourne expressed they were ‘gutted’ to miss a place in next week’s finale, but proud of how far they’ve come. During tonight’s episode of the BBC series, Victoria, Dani and Megan Hornby were chosen as the latest candidates to be eliminated from the process by Lord Alan Sugar after their business plans failed to impress.

Karren Brady, Mike Souter, Linda Plant and Claude Littner, returned to tear apart the semi-finalists’ business plans, as well as the candidates themselves. However, Rochelle Raye Anthony and Marnie Swindells will be the ones battling to hear the two golden words from the self-made billionaire, 75. While speaking to Metro.co.uk after their joint elimination, hair salon owner Dani and sweet business entrepreneur admitted that everyone’s nerves in the boardroom reached an all time high.

‘We were all so nervous, but I was so happy and proud of how far I got in the process,’ she told us. Tonight was the return of the dreaded interviews (Picture: BBC) ‘We were all so nervous,’ said Victoria (R) (Picture: BBC) ‘I was like “have a positive attitude and let’s see what happens.”‘ Dani stressed that although missing out on the final was disheartening, she couldn’t be happier for Rochelle and Marnie. ‘Everybody wants to win, but I had so many doubts in my mind I never expected to get that far,’ she added. Rochelle (L) and Marnie (R) will battle it out in the final (Picture: BBC) Reflecting on the dreaded interview round, Victoria stressed that the remaining candidates branded it ‘the most daunting part.’ ‘We all knew coming into the process that it would be the hardest stage because it shifts from being a task to being something you need to know everything about, so we really felt the pressure,’ she said.

Dani added: ‘It’s a difficult process and these people are going through it in more depth and noticing flaws in your business that you didn’t know were there. ‘There was no real way to prepare for that. Linda was so tough and it’s hard to defend yourself and argue back, it was like shots fired.’ The Apprentice returns next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
