Bradley – you’re fired.” Bradley then left the boardroom and the rest of the team were sent to the loser’s café as Lord Sugar told them: “You three are not off the hook.

- READ MORE: Glasgow presenter Storm Huntley hits out at troll in her DMs He told Go radio: “As some of you might have seen on air a few weeks ago, I did go to Dubai but unfortunately, when I got there, I was taken straight to a hospital.
- So, I spent the four days that they spent in the dessert and on yachts, incredibly unwell.
“When I cam back to the UK, it basically came down to the idea that I could not continue the show due to a health issue that I picked up actually before I went to Dubai. I wasn’t aware of it. “As you will know, probably very similar, if anyone was aware, Olivia Atwood and what happened last year.
- It’s all very boring.
- We get medics that come in every few days and they go ‘your levels do not match in order for you to go out in 45-degree heat, you better go and get yourself sorted out.
- Long story short, I basically had a conversation with the bold big man, Lord Sugar and we made the executive decision that I was going to bow out of this year.
“The next morning I wake up and my face is plastered in every bloody paper, and there is a narrative that I was drinking on a flight. “May I add, you sit in between two chaperones and you are lucky if you can get an orange juice, let alone a bottle of wine, so it’s just bizarre.” About whether or not he may be returning to the show for a later season, the businessman did not give much away but he teased that “there are lots of exciting things in the pipeline “.

What is Megan Hornby doing now?
Hull entrepreneur Megan Hornby has closed her Newland Avenue business, after realising it ‘wasn’t her dream’. Megan, 26, recently rose to fame on The Apprentice, where she impressed judges and viewers with her savvy business skills. After a successful stint on the show, Megan claimed third place, and was set to return to her sweet-shop themed bar and restaurant, Club Candy.
- However, after going head-to-head with passionate entrepreneurs fulfilling their dreams, the young businesswoman reflected on why she didn’t have the same drive for her own venture.
- Megan then came to the realisation that she had outgrown Club Candy and it was time to make a tough decision about its future.

It changed who I was as a person, it changed my perspective on business, on everything. Megan Hornby’s restaurant and bar Club Candy started off as a sweet shop (Image: Hull Live) “It’s not a dream come true for me, my business. It’s something that I started during lockdown because I was smart, not because it was a dream come true.” Megan started her business as ‘The Candy Shop’ in 2020, when she began to make sweet boxes for her family and friends while furloughed from her regular job.
She then started advertising them online and her business boomed. Just months later, she turned the online venture into a shop, which then evolved into a dessert shop by day and cocktail bar by night in Newland Avenue and was renamed ‘Club Candy’. Megan admitted the bar was doing really well but she didn’t want to take the easy road of keeping it going for the sake of it.
“I got this beautiful cocktail bar and restaurant setup, which was something that I had wanted for years,” she continued. “I grew up working in hospitality but what I realised was, the only reason I wanted it is because it was all I knew. “And actually, it wasn’t making me happy anymore.
Even though I’ve done really well, and I’m so young to have achieved this, I am not happy and this is a really hard lifestyle and industry to choose if you’re not absolutely 100% in it.” After coming out of The Apprentice, Megan said she was going through tough times with her mental health, and it’s because she knew she had a hard decision to make.
After taking some time out to think about it, she quietly closed Club Candy around two months ago, but has just now publicly confirmed it. Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College students are inspired by guest speaker Megan Hornby, star of The Apprentice (Image: consortiumtrust.co.uk) Although Club Candy is gone for good, Megan isn’t completely out of the sweet business. She is instead turning her company into an online retailer, where customers can receive shipped boxes of sweets all over the UK.
She will be dissolving her company because ‘if she’s not at the helm, nobody else will be either’. Megan’s family have also bought the building on Newland Avenue, so will be looking to rent the space to another entrepreneur who truly ‘has their whole heart in it’. Now, Megan has found a new calling in life and is excited about pursuing opportunities she has been offered since The Apprentice.
“I was asked to go into schools and do some public speaking about careers,” Megan continued. “I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it and found it so fulfilling speaking to young people about their futures. That’s when I teamed up with Lloyd Tidder from Language is Everything, and decided to go into business with him.

Sent home: Luxury womenswear consultant Ryan-Mark Parsons, 19, became the eighth candidate sent home in Wednesday’s episode of The Apprentice
- The task unravelled when the team failed to ask the client if any guests had food intolerances and the beef pie main course was severely delayed, causing costly refunds and leading Ryan-Mark, Marianne Rawlins and Thomas Skinner to be placed in the firing line.
- In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, outspoken Ryan-Mark revealed he wanted to leave the competition before finding out he had lost the task and laid into fellow candidate Marianne Rawlins, 36.
- He said: ‘I spoke with producers because I wanted to quit and I was seriously going to do that before we found out we had lost.
- ‘It wasn’t the pressure but just the fact it was a luxury task and that’s what I do and what I’m about, I knew the food intolerances would be brought up and the fact that I have a nut allergy and I was embarrassed.
Not happy: Ryan-Mark revealed he wanted to leave the competition before finding out he had lost the task and laid into fellow candidate Marianne Rawlins, 36 Oh dear: Tasked with providing a ‘first class experience’ for corporate clients aboard the stunning Belmond British Pullman train, it was deemed the perfect job for Ryan-Mark – who had boasted ‘I am the epitome of luxury’ – to act as project manager ‘I knew if we lost I would be fired, and I thought myself and Thomas would go in a double firing.
- ‘I spoke with the producers and they were putting arrangements in place for me to leave but then I realised I want to stick it out.
- I knew I would look like a wimp if I quit.
- ‘So I went in there and played devil’s advocate.’ ‘If Thomas hadn’t spent £200 on the violinists we would have won.
- Lottie (Lion – also 19) didn’t deserve to win.’ Hmm: The task unravelled when the team failed to ask the client if any guests had food intolerances and the beef pie main course was severely delayed Ryan-Mark said: He said: ‘I spoke with producers because I wanted to quit and I was seriously going to do that before we found out we had lost’ In the boardroom, Ryan-Mark blamed risk management consultant Marianne for not asking the crucial food intolerances question, along with slamming both her and Pamela Laird, 29 – who were in the kitchen- for the main course delay.
But he was deemed to have lost control of the task by Lord Sugar and booted off the show. Standing by this, he said: ‘I was not the one who should have been asking the questions, I wasn’t solely responsible for the task failing. Marianne should have done that.
- Pamela also should have known to ask, it’s what she does.
- ‘I think either Thomas or Marianne should have been eliminated.
- She is a waste of space who need to be eliminated.
- He added: ‘I spoke with the producers and they were putting arrangements in place for me to leave but then I realised I want to stick it out.
I knew I would look like a wimp if I quit’ Costly mistake: He said: ‘If Thomas hadn’t spent £200 on the violinists we would have won. Lottie (Lion – also 19) didn’t deserve to win.’ Blasting Marianne further, as he added: ‘Marianne is great with coming up with excuses.
- She is malicious and troll-like.
- She is a pernicious troll.’ The final boardroom saw Ryan-Mark originally choose Pamela to join him and Marianne, but pillow salesman Thomas, 28, stepped in to take her place.
- Ryan-Mark said: ‘I had my reasons for choosing Pamela.
- Lord Sugar likes Thomas and he seems to carry himself well.
But he has lost seven out of eight tasks.’ Discussing his third and final time in the boardroom, Ryan-Mark said: ‘I am outspoken and I am a big personality and people seem to hone in on that and blame people like that when the task goes wrong rather than those who fly under the radar.’ Broken promise: Lottie Lion’s team triumphed by £15 even though they broke a promise to make sure guests’ glasses never ran dry Delays: Guests looked unimpressed as they waited for their main courses from Ryan-Mark’s team ‘I think Dean (Ahmad) should be fired next.
- He hasn’t done anything in the competition so far.
- He should have been fired in week two instead of Kenna (Ngoma).
- On being fired in the closing stages of the competition, he said: ‘I am glad I’m not in it anymore but I did want to get to the interviews stage, I wanted to discuss my business plan but it wasn’t meant to be.
And I was close to it.’ Although disappointed to be out of the running for Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment, the reality star said he was proud of how far he had come as a teenager in the competition. He said: ‘I often say I’m like a 60 year old in a 19-year-old’s body.
- ‘I was 18 years old when I entered the process and I got to week eight of the competition so I feel proud of myself.’
- ‘The viewing figures will go down now that I’m not there’ he joked.
- With Lord Sugar sending him home ‘with regret’ Ryan-Mark said he has nothing but admiration for the mogul.
- He said: ‘I liked Lord Sugar, a lot of it wasn’t shown but we had a lot of banter and I respect him.’
- Ryan-Mark is now ploughing ahead with his VIP concierge app and hopes for further television opportunities in the future.
