Can someone watch you inside your home

Answered By: Ralph Wood Date: created: Jan 08 2023

Why You Might Want Your Neighbor to Record Your Property – First of all, your neighbor most likely does not have ill intentions. If they have security cameras installed on their property, their motivations are probably more about protection for their own family than they are about spying on you.

If your house happens to appear in their camera’s field of view, that doesn’t mean your neighbor is watching you, or even noticing you. But that does give you the benefit of free video surveillance protection. If anything should happen on your property, you may be thankful that your neighbor’s security camera was recording.

If you ever need evidence or if you just need to see who was on your property, there’s a chance that your neighbor’s security camera picked up the event you’re looking for. If you ask your neighbor to cover your property with a privacy mask or turn of motion detection alerts for your property, you might miss out on important information that could come in handy later.

  1. But again, it all comes down to communication.
  2. If you know your neighbor’s intentions, you may be more inclined to allow them to record your property.
  3. If you would rather maintain your privacy in your own yard, you can always communicate that with your neighbor and hope that they honor your wishes.
  4. It’s really up to what you and your neighbor decide to do.

Warning: The following contains disturbing descriptions of violence, including sexual violence. Reader discretion is advised. It’s been almost nine years since Jared Malvic and his roommates discovered a stranger had been living in their basement, but the psychological effects are still lingering.

  1. I would never leave a door unopened now, that’s for sure.
  2. Even if it’s a utility closet, I need to know what’s in there,” Malvic tells A&E True Crime,
  3. I feel like I am less trusting of landlords.

(It’s pronounced “frogging.”) Phrogging can take many forms, from transient intruders to more permanent ones, in occupied homes or ones where the owner is not in residence. Victims often sense something is amiss, but easily doubt themselves and hesitate to seek help, at least at first.

  1. Malvic, then a junior at Ohio State University, lived with nine other people on the second floor of an off-campus house.
  2. Another group of people lived on the first floor.
  3. And in the basement, behind a locked door that the landlords had dismissed as a “utility closet,” lived a graduate student named Jeremy.

The roommates had experienced bizarre occurrences, like waking up to a slew of open cupboards in the kitchen, Malvic says. To this day, he’s not sure if that was Jeremy’s doing, or if another roommate was playing pranks, he adds. Jeremy was found out when one of the roommates ran into him by chance.

The “closet” was about 10 feet by 10 feet and was furnished with a mattress and a chair, and a bunch of Jeremy’s belongings, including a guitar. The police and the landlords were called, and Jeremy made a polite but hasty exit, Malvic says. As it turns out, Jeremy had moved in at some point with the consent of the old tenants; when those tenants moved out, he quietly stayed behind.

After the discovery, “Some people said they saw him, once or twice, afterwards on campus,” Malvic says. “I never knew what he looked like.”

Can I find out who lives at an address UK?

Using The Electoral Roll – One of the simplest and most reliable ways to find out who lives at an address is to use the electoral roll. The person has to be registered to vote and it would be extremely uncommon to find a regular UK resident that isn’t since it is a legal requirement to sign up to vote in the UK, when you are asked to.

  1. You may access full electoral roll details through the British Library but these records are usually those that are over ten years old so may not contain the most up to date information.
  2. When performing an online electoral roll search, you will not only be given information on the address but all of the occupants that were there in a specific year.

The great thing about this is that it allows you to get a good idea of who might still be residing there. You could also look at the UK Census records but the ones that are publicly available are incredibly outdated as it is only legal to release this kind of information 100 years after publication.
