Why did Emma Fuhrmann leave MCU

Answered By: Oscar Cox Date: created: Apr 29 2023

What Former Cassie Lang Actress Emma Fuhrmann Thinks Of The Recast – While Cassie Lang being recast for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania isn’t new territory for the MCU, the announcement came as a shock to Emma Fuhrmann. The Avengers: Endgame actor revealed that she didn’t find out about the replacement until the casting choice was made public, and while this may be a comment on how Marvel Studios treats their actors, Fuhrmann shared kind words on social media following the announcement.

  • Thanking fans for their support, Furhmann said she was “grateful to have been a part of the MCU & the biggest movie of all time,” referencing her brief scenes in Avengers: Endgame.
  • Since appearing as Cassie Lang in Avengers: Endgame, Emma Fuhrmann has appeared in the TV movie Murder in the Vineyard and appeared as Rachel Morewall in the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19,

Being relinquished from her role in the MCU may provide Fuhrmann with more freedom to take on a larger variety of roles in the future, though she did also suggest that she’d love to have a different role in the MCU’s future. With Kathryn Newton debuting as the MCU’s new Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the future is looking bright for the young hero, despite being recast once again.

Has Kang been recast

Answered By: Stanley Peterson Date: created: Sep 05 2022

Jonathan Majors’ Hollywood Future – As this investigation continues, Jonathan Majors’ future in Hollywood is completely up in the air. The 33-year-old has had a meteoric rise to superstardom over the last 18 months, with momentum coming off the back of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III making it feel like the actor was on the verge of a major breakthrough.

However, all that may be for naught. With the level of demand Majors seemed to have off the last year-and-a-half of success, if a guilty verdict is delivered, then this will surely be just the first of a number of similar stories about the actor. The biggest question mark now is what Marvel Studios will do with Jonathan Majors, and if he will be recast as Kang the Conqueror.

Right now, it seems that nothing is set in stone on that front, as much of the franchise’s ongoing Multiverse Saga rests on the actor’s shoulders. As the star’s May 8 court date approaches, Marvel Studios is going to have some soul-searching to do should they have to pull the parachute and head in a different direction.

Who is the older Cassie in Ant-Man

Answered By: Jayden Thomas Date: created: Jul 22 2023

Marvel Studios recast Cassie Lang for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, choosing Kathryn Newton for a bigger and more recognizable star in the role. The decision to recast Cassie Lang was not unusual, as Marvel has recast other characters in the past, such as Bruce Banner and James Rhodey.

It is likely that Kathryn Newton will continue to play Cassie Lang in future MCU projects, as her age aligns with the character’s growth and she has received praise for her performance. Marvel Studios recast Cassie Lang for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania following her MCU appearance in Avengers: Endgame,

During the first two Ant-Man movies, Scott Lang ‘s young daughter Cassie was played by Abby Ryder Fortson, but the five-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame concluded with another actor in the role. Emma Fuhrmann briefly took over the role for Avengers: Endgame, greeting her father after he returned from the Quantum Realm.

A handful of character recasts worked out for the better. While some recasts are necessary due to the death or cancelation of a character’s original or previous actor, others have been strategic moves by studios and casting directors in order to place more recognizable actors in significant roles.

While many character recasts have been considered failures because they were poorly conceived or simply unnecessary, a select few have greatly impacted the success of their accompanying movies and franchises. Each recast comes with a significant risk, which makes the criteria for a successful one quite thorough.

Some recasts are doomed from the start, especially when a fan-favorite character or popular protagonist is abruptly removed from a project to the instant disapproval of the masses. A recent example is Henry Cavill ‘s departure as Geralt in Netflix ‘s critically-acclaimed series The Witcher whose season 3 viewership dropped badly after his exit was officially announced.

Abby Ryder Fortson ‘s Cassie Lang is one of the best parts of Peyton Reed ‘s first two ” Ant-Man ” films.2015’s ” Ant-Man ” introduces Cassie as an eight-year-old ball of energy who sees nothing but the best in her father, Paul Rudd ‘s Scott Lang, even when the rest of the world dismisses him as an ex-con.

She’s also weird in a way that rings believable for a kid, nerding out over the “ugly” bunny doll Scott gifts her on her birthday. The next time we see Cassie in 2018’s ” Ant-Man and the Wasp,” she’s grown up enough to have some thoughts on her dad’s quasi-romantic relationship with his work buddy, Evangeline Lilly ‘s Hope van Dyne, but not so much as to strain credibility.

These scenes rely heavily on Rudd and Fortson to work. Fortunately, their strong chemistry is more than enough to fully sell this father-daughter dynamic despite limited screen time.

Marvel Studios almost addressed one major criticism with the McU’s Phase 4 in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Peyton Reed ‘s third Ant-Man film in the MCU released on February 17, 2023, reintroducing audiences to Paul Rudd ‘s Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly ‘s Hope Van Dyne, and their families, who find themselves dragged into a terrifying battle against Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror in the Quantum Realm.

Joining them is MCU newcomer Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, Scott Lang’s now-teenage daughter, aged up following the five-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame, which was originally supposed to be a much larger talking point in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Cassie Lang debuted in Ant-Man, portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson, who reprised the role of 11-year-old Cassie in Ant-Man and the Wasp,

However, in Avengers: Endgame, Emma Fuhrmann played her as a 16-year-old before Cassie Lang was recast for Kathryn Newton, now portraying Cassie as an 18-year-old.

In the wake of Avengers: Endgame, the McU’s Phase 4 put emphasis on introducing new heroes to the franchise to replace those who are getting older, retiring, or those who have died.

Many of these new heroes have been younger in age, which has led many to speculate that the formation of the McU’s Young Avengers could be coming during Phase 5, 6, or beyond. Marvel Comics debuted the Young Avengers in 2005 as a team of amateur vigilantes who were eager to live up to the legacies of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Several movie sequels have had to recast major characters for one reason or another. Sometimes it’s because the original actor is busy with another project, doesn’t want to do the sequel, or has passed away. Sometimes it’s because the filmmakers want to take the character in a different direction.

Sometimes a character’s age prevents the original actor from reprising their role. Famous examples of a character being recast include James Bond and Jack Ryan, who have both now gone through several different actors in various sequels and reboots. Marvel has recast several characters, including replacing Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Hulk between The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers,

While Ant-Man and the Wasp : Quantumania has become one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most controversial entries due to the film’s middling reviews and disappointing box office numbers, the movie did get one important Ant-Man aspect right.

The recasting of Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania breaks the MCU timeline. Though this was actually the fourth big-screen appearance of Scott Lang ‘s daughter, this was the first time Kathryn Newton played the character. Now, Cassie has been brought to life by three different actresses.

Due to the five years that passed between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it was no longer feasible for the actress who played her in the first two Ant-Man movies, Abby Ryder Forston, to reprise the role a third time. For that reason, Emma Fuhrmann was brought in to play Cassie when the character reunited with Scott in Endgame,

Now, the MCU has found yet another actress for the role in Kathryn Newton. Presumably, Newton will continue to play Cassie in any other movies or shows that call for the return of her character, who may or may not be the McU’s Stature now.

Marvel Studios has gotten pretty good at getting charismatic actors to play bit roles, while set against the stars playing an Avenger. The ” Ant-Man ” movies, especially, are loaded with folks you simply enjoy being around, such as fast-talker Luis ( Michael Peńa ) and the magic-curious Agent Jimmy Woo ( Randall Park ).

  1. Even with their short screen time, however, it’s Abby Ryder Fortson who steals the show as Scott Lang ‘s adorable daughter, Cassie.
  2. She loves weird things, has a great imagination, and sees her father for the hero he is.
  3. When the Blip happened, however, it meant that Forston’s time as the character was over.

Scott Lang ( Paul Rudd ) is regular guy who happened to stumble headfirst into superherodom. That, uh, doesn’t feel like a word, but you get the idea. He might have a suit that allows him to grow to the size of a skyscraper and shrink to the size of an ant, but he’s no more inherently magical or fantastic than that Wi-Fi-enabled “Harry Potter” wand you bought to replace your TV remote with and then promptly forgot existed.

Despite this, his humanity is kind of the whole reason the ” Ant-Man ” movies work. Well, that and the fact that he’s portrayed by Rudd, the living embodiment of harmless charm. Fortunately for us, Peyton Reed, the director of ” Ant-Man,” ” Ant-Man and the Wasp,” and the upcoming ” Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” understands this.

More importantly, it seems like he’s always understood this – that beneath the façade of CGI and spandex, Scott’s time.

As the Ant-Man 3 release date draws near, Marvel continues to drop more clues about what audiences can expect from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania when it kicks off the MCU Phase 5. Paul Rudd ‘s Scott Lang/Ant-Man has certainly come a long way since he was 2015’s Ant-Man.

Before he became an Avenger, Scott Lang was a master thief who ended up taking part in the experiments of Dr. Hank Pym ( Michael Douglas ) involving a super-suit that allows him to shrink in scale but increase in strength. • Recently, it was revealed that Kevin Feige felt that Paul Rudd ‘s size-shifting superhero earned a top spot on the House of Ideas’ roster.
  • That’s why Peyton Reed ‘s third film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was repositioned as the introductory tale to bring us into Phase Five.

This feature contains spoilers for the established MCU. The different phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seem to break up the existence of the Avengers as a group. Phase 1 was about building the Avengers into a team, culminating in them assembling and saving the world.

  • Phase 2 was about the Avengers fortifying their world to the point that everyone seemed to be on the cusp of a happy endinguntil Ultron happened.
  • Phase 3 was about the repeated destruction of the Avengers, starting with political differences, then going to personal anger, being discarded by an alien threat they weren’t ready for, being reduced to ash by a cosmic wish, and finally being shattered by their greatest victory.

Phase 3 actually ended with the post-credits to Spider-Man: Far From Home in a perfectly fitting scene. Talos asked Nick Fury about the existence of the Avengers going forward and didn’t get any answer.

The last time we saw Paul Rudd ‘s Ant-Man was in the 2019 mega hit from Marvel Avengers: End Game. Really the entire MCU should be thanking him for what he did because without his knowledge and experience of the quantum realm, Thanos might still be alive and hanging out on his farm somewhere in the galaxy.

  • So what has Ant-Man been up to since that major event? Is the Wasp still around? Are they married now? What about the realm itself? What or who did Lang actually see when he was inside? We know that time is different in there or at least way slower than time outside of the realm.

There are currently twelve movies, ten Disney Plus shows, two animated spinoffs and a holiday special in the works as the Marvel Cinematic Universe compensates for a completely barren 2020 by doubling down on a raft of fresh and exciting content for the big and small screen, and all 25 of these projects are set to arrive by the end of 2023.

  1. That’s an awful lot of worldbuilding for an already expansive mythology, especially with so many new faces about to debut.
  2. In most cases, franchises getting bigger and bigger tends to result in a decline in quality as the focus shifts to spectacle over storytelling, but Kevin Feige has proven so adept at his job over the last dozen years that there’s nothing to indicate the McU will suffer a similar fate.

Indeed, the Disney Plus shows have been designed to look and feel like the big budget blockbuster movies,.

In terms of both stature and box office returns, Paul Rudd ‘s Scott Lang is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s smallest superhero. The Ant-Man movies are the lowest-grossing installments in the franchise to have been released since the end of Phase One, but they’re also a lot cheaper to produce than the majority of the McU’s comic book blockbusters, and aren’t all that interested in confronting the sort of potentially world-ending stakes that the rest of the Avengers usually deal with.

  1. However, that might all change in the upcoming third outing, especially with Jonathan Majors confirmed as Kang the Conqueror.
  2. There’d been reports making the rounds that the project would start shooting next summer, and that appears to be the case now as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been officially announced for a 2022 release date.

Like Blade or Deadpool 3, Ant-Man 3 is one of a handful of upcoming McU movies that are definitely on the way but have yet to be given a release date. That suggests things are in flux with these projects right now. Considering that we initially thought there might not even be another film for Paul Rudd ‘s shrinking superhero, fans might be worrying if the Covid-19 outbreak could have caused plans for it to change or be hit by some kind of significant delay.

McU star Evangeline Lilly ‘s dismissive comments about the coronavirus outbreak have caused a major controversy online, with the actress’ troubling attitude towards self-isolating and shocking belief that the pandemic is just a hoax riling up fans, with many demanding that Marvel remove her from the franchise at once.

  1. While they won’t be doing that – at least, not yet – due to contractual obligations, we have heard the studio will be reducing her role in Ant-Man 3,
  2. According to sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us Ahsoka Tano will cameo in The Mandalorian season 2 and Han will return to the Fast & Furious franchise, both of which were correct – Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne will no longer be the threequel’s co-lead, which will require some reworking of the proposed storyline.

How old is Cassie now Ant-Man

Answered By: Ashton Anderson Date: created: Oct 21 2023

We all know that Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest Hollywood franchise ever, With all the media it spawned so far, it takes a lot of previous knowledge to properly follow all the new stuff that Marvel Studios is offering us. MCU concluded two more trilogies this year — Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

While these two trilogies are now concluded, the fans already know that the majority of characters that we met in them will eventually return. One of those characters is Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie. Since we met her as an innocent little girl, and now she’s a young woman and a superhero known as Stature, we decided to tell you how old Cassie Lang is in each of her MCU appearances.

In the MCU canon, Cassie Lang was born in July 2007. The character was first introduced in the original Ant-Man movie in 2015 when she was eight years old. The sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp occurred in 2018 when Cassie was 11 years old. Following a five-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame, Cassie is 16 years old during the movie’s events since she survived Thanos’ snap.

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania takes place in 2025, so Cassie is already 17-18 years old in that movie.
  • Cassie Lang is a pretty interesting MCU character considering she appeared in four MCU movies, played by three different actresses.
  • Abby Ryder Fortson is the only actress that played the character in two movies, as she debuted in the original Ant-Man film and reprised the role in its sequel.

Emma Fuhrmann played a teenage Cassie in Avengers: Endgame. Kathryn Newton replaced Fuhrmann for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and it is expected she will eventually reprise the role in one of the upcoming MCU movies,

Did Cassie Lang survive the snap

Answered By: Roger Martin Date: created: Jun 22 2023

Endgame – A teenaged Cassie upon reuniting with her father. Cassie was one of the 50% of people who survived the Blip by Thanos ‘ snap. In the five years following the Blip, she grew up under the assumption that her father had also fallen victim to the snap, not knowing that he had been trapped in the Quantum Realm. After Scott managed to escape (the five years having felt like five hours to him), he confusedly wandered around the city until he stumbled upon a memorial for those claimed by the Blip, and realized that Cassie was among the still-living. After this, he immediately returned to the house where she had grown up, only to find her alone and five years older. Eventually, after the Avengers resurrected the snap’s victims, Hope included, Cassie joined her father and Hope in watching fireworks. Avengers_Endgame _5-0″> Avengers_Endgame -5″>

Was Scott Lang blipped

Answered By: Angel Bennett Date: created: Dec 24 2022

Infinity Saga – Doctor Strange dusting after Thanos acquired all six Infinity Stones and snapped his fingers. In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos obtains the six Infinity Stones and places them within a Gauntlet built by Eitri, so that he can snap his fingers and eliminate half of all life in the universe, which he believes will bring a balance that will prevent greater catastrophes from fighting over resources.

The Blip occurs at the end of the film in Wakanda, where numerous characters are blipped, including Bucky Barnes, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Wanda Maximoff, Peter Parker, Stephen Strange, T’Challa, Sam Wilson, Peter Quill, Groot, Drax, and Mantis. The Russo brothers also revealed that, despite not appearing in Infinity War, Betty Ross and Sif were blipped as well.

In a mid-credits scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Hank Pym, Hope van Dyne, and Janet van Dyne are blipped, leaving Scott Lang stranded in the Quantum Realm. In a subsequent post-credits scene, a nationwide broadcast of the Emergency Alert System is shown on a television in Lang’s home.

In a post-credits scene of Captain Marvel (2019), the Avengers are surveying reports of worldwide population losses at the Avengers Compound, when Carol Danvers abruptly appears, having received a distress signal from Fury that he sent through a pager before he blipped. When asked how the sixth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

, set one year after the events of the fifth season and Infinity War, would connect to the then-upcoming Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb suggested in March 2019 that the one-year time jump between the previous season of the series and this one was part of the series’s tie-in to that film.

After Endgame was released in April, the showrunners and Loeb revealed that the series would not directly depict or reference the Blip for several reasons. They began production on the season without knowing all of Endgame ‘s plot or how Far From Home would be depicting a post- Endgame MCU. They were also unsure when the season would be released in relation to Endgame and how much they would be allowed to reveal if they had begun airing before the film was released.

They wanted to focus on telling their own story rather than be “shackled too much to the universe-changing events from the films”. While acknowledging that this meant the series seemingly no longer lined up with the films’ timeline, producer Jed Whedon stated that the writers had an explanation for this that made sense to them even though they did not plan to “burden the audience” with it.

  1. A line referencing the Blip and how the Quantum Realm could be used to avoid it was filmed for the series finale but was ultimately cut from the aired episode.
  2. In Avengers: Endgame, Clint Barton’s family, Erik Selvig, Shuri, and Jane Foster are confirmed to have been blipped.
  3. In the Avengers Compound, Sharon Carter and Scott Lang are also listed as blipped, though Carter went rogue to establish her identity as the Power Broker in Madripoor and Lang was unaccounted for due to being trapped in the Quantum Realm.

Some of the surviving heroes travel to the planet where Thanos has gone to attempt to recover the Infinity Stones and undo the Blip, only to learn that Thanos had destroyed the Stones to ensure that his work could not be undone. Five years later, the effects of the disappearances are explored, with many characters having experiences resulting from the event.

  • For example, Barton is distraught at the loss of his family and becomes a rogue warrior, travelling the world to massacre organized crime figures involved in the drug trade and child trafficking.
  • Steve Rogers leads a support group for those dealing with the loss of loved ones in the Blip.
  • Thor, who blames himself for failing to kill Thanos before the initial snap, becomes an out-of-shape alcoholic.

Urban decay is apparent in cities such as New York City and San Francisco. Carol Danvers tells the Avengers that the chaos happening on Earth is also occurring on other planets throughout the cosmos. In the meantime, Scott Lang is freed from the Quantum Realm, having only experienced five hours instead of years.

He comes across a memorial park listing names of the vanished, including himself, then reunites with his daughter Cassie, who had been a young girl when he last saw her and is now a teenager. Lang informs the remaining Avengers and allies about his discovery: the Quantum Realm can allow time travel. While they soon determine that the nature of time travel means that they cannot simply go back in time and stop Thanos from either causing the Blip or destroying the Stones in the first place, they are able to use Pym Particles to travel through the Quantum Realm to retrieve the Infinity Stones from alternate timelines in the past.

Upon returning to the present, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Rocket develop a Gauntlet composed of Stark’s nanotech that is capable of harnessing the power of the Stones. Due to the powerful emission of gamma radiation resulting from the Stones’ use, Banner volunteers to wear the Gauntlet and successfully restores the blipped victims in the condition they had vanished.

  1. The Avengers are then attacked by an alternate version of Thanos who intends to destroy and recreate the universe.
  2. A final battle ensues and Stark ultimately wins the battle by using the Stones to destroy Thanos and his army, at the cost of his own life.
  3. Following a funeral honoring Stark’s sacrifice, Rogers travels back in time to return the Stones to their original time periods.

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Blip is discussed in a school news broadcast at the beginning of the film, which is the first instance in any medium of the name. The broadcast shows Midtown School of Science and Technology band members reappearing in the middle of a basketball game.

The film reveals that several more characters had been blipped and restored, including Peter’s aunt May Parker and his classmates Ned Leeds, MJ, Betty Brant, and Flash Thompson. Parker’s teacher Roger Harrington complains that his wife had pretended to have been blipped in order to leave him. As part of a viral marketing campaign to promote the home media release of Far From Home, a real version of the fictional TheDailyBugle.net website was created that featured testimonials from supposed victims of the Blip, including one complaining that they disappeared in a dangerous situation and were seriously injured when they reappeared.

This contradicted a statement by Feige saying that anyone in such a situation would have reappeared safely. Several days after this was pointed out, the website was updated to say this story was faked for an insurance claim.

Who was the kid Ant-Man talked to in Endgame

Answered By: Jesse Ward Date: created: Jan 09 2023

***Spoilers Below*** – Iron Man 3 Simpkins Okay, if you’re here, you’ve seen the movie and know this moment from the emotional finale of the movie. It’s a scene set at the memorial for Tony Stark, and the camera pans along a dock where we see a lot of familiar faces: Hulk, Spider-Man, Winter Soldier, Falcon, Ant-Man, Wasp—you name it.

  • All the heavy-hitters.
  • They’re clustered in groups, usually by their own stories, but one young guy stands all by himself.
  • This is actor Ty Simpkins, who appeared in Iron Man 3 as Harley, the kid who helped a stranded and hunted Tony Stark reactivate his armor while on the run.
  • Stark not only traded snarky remarks with his young sidekick, but he later gave Harley his own lab to continue his engineering experiments.

As we know from Spider-Man: Homecoming, Stark has a soft spot for young mechanics like himself. Why did Harley merit a cameo in Endgame, as a mourner at Tony Stark’s funeral? Directors Joe and Anthony Russo explain: “Clearly Tony had an effect on him,” says Joe.

  • Anthony asked, “Did you know who it was when you saw him?” And EW had to confess—no.
  • By the way, nobody does!” Anthony replied.
  • It’s hard because he grew up since that movie!” “We’ll put things in that we hope that the internet will then explain to everyone,” Joe added.
  • That’s one of those things where somebody just has to go look at his IMDB and then start posting it on Twitter and then it catches on.

It’s a fun Easter egg.” It also serves a deeper narrative purpose. Harley is the everyman to Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr.’s “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” had many friends with powerful abilities, but this kid is a reminder of a moment when he changed the life of an ordinary person.

Why is hope not called Pym?

Concept, casting, and creation – Lilly at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con where it was announced that she would be portraying Van Dyne Joss Whedon, the writer and director of The Avengers, originally intended to have the Wasp appear in the film due to potential scheduling conflicts preventing Scarlett Johansson from appearing in the film as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow,

  1. Whedon wanted Zooey Deschanel to play the role of Wasp.
  2. In 2013, actresses Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, Rashida Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard were in talks to play the female lead in the then-upcoming Ant-Man film.
  3. In February 2014, Evangeline Lilly was rumoured to be cast in the role while Edgar Wright was still slated to direct.

When Wright left the film later in the year and was replaced by Peyton Reed, Lilly was reluctant to take the role until she read the revised script and got a chance to meet with Reed. After reading the revised script, she felt that the film was also “pulled” more into the MCU than Wright’s version adding that while Wright’s version was “incredible” and would have been great to film and watch, “it would not have fit in the Marvel Universe.

  1. It would have stuck out like a sore thumb, no matter how good it was.
  2. It just would have taken you away from this cohesive universe they’re trying to create.
  3. And therefore it ruins the suspended disbelief that they’ve built”.
  4. Reed and Lilly alongside Paul Rudd, who was set to star as Scott Lang, contributed ideas to the revised script to help flesh out Lilly’s character, who received a fuller arc and more action sequences as a result.

One of the important things for Reed when joining the film was emphasizing both Hope and Janet van Dyne more, given the Wasp being “a crucial part” of the Ant-Man comics. Hope shares her last name with her mother rather than her father, Hank Pym, as “statement of her ambivalence toward her father”.

Lilly noted that the name change “emphasizes the challenges the two characters need to overcome in order to reconcile, as well as reflects the tragedy of Janet’s loss that created the rift in the first place”. It was eventually announced at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con that Lilly was cast as Van Dyne.

She went on to sign a multi-film contract with Marvel.

Why Kang wants Janet

Answered By: Wallace Griffin Date: created: May 06 2023

Janet and Kang Would Have Made More Sense – Image via Marvel Studios What we get to see in Quantumania is a simple flirtation on Kang’s part for his own benefit. He’s using Janet to help him fix his ship, so he can escape the Quantum Realm, but the two did have a rapport with each other that was enjoyable to see.

And it honestly would make more sense if Kang and Janet were together while she was trapped there instead of her being with Krylar who doesn’t really help them in any way and just seemed to appear because Murray was a part of the film. When Janet first meets Kang, the two are stuck together and seem to be happy to work together.

At no point during her interaction with Krylar did it seem like these two enjoyed the company of one another, and it just felt like something forced in order to have the conversation on the ship between Hank and Janet. But if it had been Kang she was with while in the Quantum Realm.

Did Hope and Scott get married?

February 17, 2023 @ 3:00 PM Disney may be well known for executing the “Evil Stepmother” trope, but that dynamic is nowhere to be found in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” In fact, Evangeline Lilly loved Hope and Cassie’s dynamic so much, she wants a spinoff for them.

  1. Granted, Hope (Lilly) isn’t referred to as Cassie’s (Kathryn Newton) stepmom, and Hope and Scott (Paul Rudd) aren’t officially married, as far as we know.
  2. But at this point, they’re very solidly together, and Hope has clearly struck a good relationship with Cassie — so good, in fact, that the two secretly work together on quantum science projects.

With Hank Pym’s (Michael Douglas) help, Hope and Cassie build a device that can send a signal to, and subsequently map the Quantum Realm. It’s something they’re clearly proud of building together, and excited to show off to their loved ones. And for Evangeline Lilly, that working relationship was a joy to put on screen. “I loved that relationship. I loved that dynamic. I just wanted more of it,” Lilly told TheWrap. “I was like, ‘How do we fit this into the movie a few more times before we get to the end?’ I figure we just have to do a spin-off. We just have to do a Wasp and Cassie spin-off because I want more of that.

  1. It was so fun!” She continued, “It was so fun playing the stepmom who’s like, ‘You know what, I just don’t see you the way he sees you because I never changed your diapers.
  2. And I didn’t see you spill milk on the table.’ And I just see this incredible, brilliant young woman.
  3. I don’t know what he’s hung up on.

Like, sees as a woman, a grown woman. And I think Hope’s just a little bit confused as to why Scott can’t.” Meanwhile, Hope’s relationship with her own mother is a little bit rocky, considering Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) is clearly hiding a whole lot of her time in the Quantum Realm — and, as it turns out, with Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) — from her family.

  1. But even that more fraught relationship is something Lilly enjoyed exploring.
  2. It’s a beautiful complication in a superhero movie between two women, which for me was just such a delight because I so rarely get the opportunity to collaborate on screen in an intimate way with women,” she said.
  3. And it really was a different experience.

And it was such a rewarding experience. And we became so close off screen, and we’re really supportive of one another throughout the whole process. And that’s a friendship that will mean something to me forever.” You can watch TheWrap’s full interview with Evangeline Lilly in the video above.

Why did Chris Hemsworth leave the MCU?

‘Thor’ Chris Hemsworth Is Open To Return To MCU Only On One Condition (Picture Credit: IMDB) The God Of Thunder might still have more appearances in the MCU as the fans highly criticised his MCU outing. Being one of the founding members of the Avengers, he is the only character from the original trio to be in the multiverse saga.

  1. While there have been many speculations of him appearing again in his fourth movie, Chris Hemsworth expressed his willingness to appear one more time.
  2. As an MCU veteran, the actor shared his only condition for returning as Thor in future projects.
  3. After spending over a decade playing the God of Thunder, he was last seen in 2022’s largely-panned Thor: Love and Thunder.

Following the news of his decision to take a little time off his acting career to focus on his health after finding out, he’s at risk for Alzheimer’s disease, and many questioned his next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During a conversation with the Spanish magazine AccionCine, Thor star Chris Hemsworth talked about his MCU role.

Why did MCU recast Howard Stark

Answered By: Albert Hughes Date: created: Oct 11 2023

Howard Stark has been portrayed by three different actors throughout the MCU, including Gerard Sanders, Dominic Cooper, and John Slattery, The decision to recast Howard Stark was primarily due to narrative reasons, as the character’s age and appearances varied across different time periods.

  1. The use of aging or de-aging special effects for Howard Stark wasn’t considered feasible at the time of his first recasting, and the minimal role of the initial actor made it easier to simply recast the character.
  2. After appearing in several Iron Man movies and other Marvel projects, Tony Stark ‘s father, Howard Stark, is one of several MCU characters that have been recast over the years, leaving some to wonder why.

Howard Stark played an integral role in the Iron Man story arc, as well as the MCU as a whole, even working alongside Captain America before Tony was a twinkle in his father’s eye. Unlike.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (McU) is certainly no stranger to recasting characters. Just look at what they did with the Hulk and War Machine, The former was played by Ed Norton before Mark Ruffalo stepped in while the latter was first brought to life by Terrence Howard, before he was replaced with Don Cheadle,

  • But there’s one character who’s actually had three actors portray him so far and he’s not even that prominent a figure in the franchise.
  • We’re talking, of course, about Howard Stark.
  • Sure, as the father of Tony, who is arguably the beating heart of the McU, he’s a fairly important character, but he hasn’t had a tremendous amount of screentime over his cinematic career and yet, three different individuals have had the honor of playing him.

This interesting find comes to us from the folks over at ScreenRant, so kudos to them for noticing.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe Robert Downey Jr. has already had three actors play his dad – Gerard Sanders, John Slattery and Dominic Cooper – but for one of the star’s next project he’s looking for an actor who has won three Academy Awards. New reports say that Downey Jr.

is now developing a new drama called The Judge to both act in and produce, and he’s now he’s trying to get Jack Nicholson to come aboard and play his father. According to THR, the story follows an attorney (Downey Jr.) who travels back to his hometown to attend his mother’s funeral. When I overheard Dominic Cooper had been cast as Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger, I thought – what Bradley Cooper ? Then I heard the name again and thought – what Dominic Monaghan ? Then Matt Patches threw a neo-otyugh at my head and said, “douchebag! Dominic Cooper ! The guy from An Education,” I get confused easily.

As anyone who’s seen Iron Man 2 should know, it seems that Tony Stark’s Dad Howard plays a crucial part in the expanding Marvel ‘verse. Plus, given that he was around during World War Two and involved in the creation of clandestine government agency S.H.I.E.L.D., it’s very unsurprising that he’ll pop up in Captain America: The First Avenger,

Though we’ve already seen the role of Howard Stark (father to Iron Man himself, Tony Stark) portrayed by Gerard Sanders (in Iron Man ) and most recently by John Slattery (in Iron Man 2 ), Salon (via Cinematical) reports that Dominic Cooper ( An Education, The Duchess ) will portray an even younger version of the founder of Stark Industries in Captain America: The First Avenger,

A number of sites had the opportunity to visit the Iron Man 2 set a few weeks back (no, we didn’t, but we’ve worked all that out with Paramount who are great to deal with) and today they unleashed the details online. Following the Iron Man 2 presentation at Comic-Con, we thought it would be a good time to bring folks up to speed on the latest and greatest with the film.

Unfortunately I missed the Avatar panel at Comic-Con, where they debuted 20 minutes of 3D footage from the film, but based on the audience reaction to Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr (Scarlett Johansson and Don Cheadle were also present), I’d say the Iron Man 2 panel may have been the big hit of the event (Kick-Ass had a heck of a reception as well, though).

The following is based on reports from MTV, JoBlo and Latino Review.

Despite the percolating rumor, ” Iron Man 2 ” apparently won’t see Tim Robbins playing Tony Stark’s father, Howard Stark. In an interview with ReelTalk recently, the 50-year-old actor indicated that he won’t be seen as the founder of Stark Industries in the ” Iron Man ” sequel, saying “That was an Internet rumor.

Can’t trust those Internets.” Back in December 2008, Latino Review has come up with a scoop that Robbins is going to replace Gerard Sanders, the actor who plays the character in the first film. The site moreover claimed that the actor will be seen in an important flashback sequence which will set up the ” The Avengers ” and ” The First Avenger: Captain America ” films.

To be directed by Jon Favreau, ” Iron Man 2 ” has ” Tropic Thunder ” co-scribbler Justin Theroux attached to pen the story. Seeing the return of Robert Downey Jr. as the superhero in armored iron suit, the sequel picks up.

Jon Favreau directed a movie called Zathura a few years ago. It was pretty good, actually. Tanked, but it was Ok. Perhaps he developed a good rapport with Tim Robbins, who played the father in that film, and perhaps, Favreau’s heart went out to Robbins for the failure of City of Ember, among the year’s biggest flops.

Coincidentally, Tim Robbins played the father in that one, too. He was also a dad in Mystic River, and well, that could’ve ended more happily. There are reports swirling that Robbins might join Iron Man 2 as Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark. Latino Review broke the news, pointing out that even though the character was in the first movie (played by Gerard Sanders ), he has a much more important role in round two.

There will apparently be a big-time flashback with the elder Stark that helps further set up The Avengers and Captain America,

The rumor river is flowing again, this time giving us word that Tim Robbins will play Tony Stark’s father Howard Stark in the comic book movie sequel Iron Man 2, The character was portrayed briefly during the slide-show presentation at the beginning of the first film by Gerard Sanders, but director John Favreau wanted: to get a good actor because he didn’t think the guy who played Howard in the last film could carry such an important scene.

Tim Robbins will reportedly be joining the cast of “Iron Man 2.” The “Shawshank Redemption” star is set to play Tony Stark’s father in the sequel to the blockbuster film. According to Latino Review, the 50-year-old actor will star as Howard Stark in an important flashback sequence in the upcoming film.

If the report is true, then he will be replacing Gerard Sanders for the role. Sanders played Howard in a montage scene in the first film. Although still not confirmed, screenwriter Mark Fergus had revealed in September that the sequel’s storyline would include Tony/ Iron Man ‘s relationship with his father.

It was also reported in October that Terrence Howard, who played James Rhodes, will not be coming back in the second film. Don Cheadle will be replacing him for unknown reasons.

El Mayimbe over at Latino Review has got one hell of scoop that, even if it doesn’t pan out, warms my heart in the way only geeky internet news can. First up, a source has told them that Tim Robbins is slated to play Howard Stark – Tony’s pop – in Iron Man 2.

The role would feature the character in flashback and would set up elements from “The Avengers” and ” Captain America “. Howard Stark was featured briefly in the first ” Iron Man “, but the role (as played by Gerard Sanders ) was so minor that I had trouble recalling it. The suspicion is that Robbins is probably going to be a major part of ” Captain America ” and more star-power was required.

(Sorry, Mr. Sanders) But there’s more! El Mayimbe also has it that both the Black Widow and Hawkeye are going to appear in the film as well. The Black Widow.

12/18/2008 Collider.com

While ridiculous casting rumors for The Dark Knight sequel once again seem to be spreading across the interwebs, let’s look at one that actually has the possibility of being true. El Mayimbe over at Latino Review, who has posted reliable info many times before, says Tim Robbins is joining the cast of Iron Man 2,

According to the site’s source, Robbins will be playing Tony Stark’s father, Howard Stark, in an important flashback sequence that is going to set up The Avengers and Captain America, Howard Stark appeared in the first flick in the photo montage at the beginning of the film, and was played by Gerard Sanders,

El Mayimbe’s source says director Jon Favreau cast Robbins because he didn’t think Sanders could carry such an important scene. The source also revealed that the characters Hawkeye and Black Widow will indeed be in the sequel,.

The Latino Review is reporting that the role of Howard Stark, founder of Stark Industries and father of Tony (a.k.a. Iron Man ), may be taken over by Shawshank actor Tim Robbins, If this casting rumor is true, director Jon Favreau ‘s decision to dump Gerard Sanders, who appeared in the part for the first movie, will be because of an enhanced role and important story arc which may introduce The Avengers and Captain America in particular.

This means that the elder Stark (and Robbins) will play a big part in Marvel’s multiple comic book movies, and will probably involve Stark’s company in the WWII Super Soldier experiment that created Captain America, Such set-up in Iron Man 2 will most certainly follow through in the two other Marvel movies – already in pre-production.

Also mentioned as possible players in Iron Man 2 are two other Avengers: Black Widow and Hawkeye.

12/18/2008by reelz reelz Reelzchannel.com

Another casting report has come in for ” Iron Man 2 ” and it involves the founder of Stark Industries, Howard Stark. Exposing the interesting scoop is Latino Review, which claimed that ” Mystic River ” star, Tim Robbins, is going to fill in the shoes of Tony Stark’s father in the sequel to blockbuster film, ” Iron Man “.

If indeed being cast for the part, the 50-year-old actor will replace Gerard Sanders, the actor who plays the character in the first film. In this second ” Iron Man ” film, his character reportedly will be seen in an important flashback sequence which will set up the ” The Avengers ” and ” The First Avenger: Captain America ” films; that is why, director Jon Favreau needs a good actor, so claimed the site.

Aside from breaking out the Howard Stark’s possible casting, Latino Review also reported that both Hawkeye and Black Widow are part of the plot. Thus, the two.

12/18/2008by AceShowbiz.com Aceshowbiz

Well it looks like Terrance Howard isn’t that only Iron Man actor getting the shaft in the Marvel Studios sequel. Latino Review reports a rumor that Gerard Sanders, who played Tony Stark’s father Howard in a montage will not return for Iron Man 2, Instead, Howard Stark will be played by Tim Robbins,

Apparently there is a pretty important flashback sequence that among other things, helps set up The Avengers and Captain America films, and director Jon Favreau needed an actor who could pull off the scene. While not 100% confirmed, this makes perfect sense. Screenwriter Mark Fergus told MTV in September that Tony’s “relationship with his father and this person you only heard about in the first movie is going to be much more fully explored” in the sequel and “in other Marvel movies”.

It certainly makes sense to involve Howard Stark in the Super Soldier program.

Why is Abby not in Quantumania

Answered By: John Clark Date: created: Feb 25 2023

Did Luis survive the snap

Answered By: Antonio Alexander Date: created: Sep 07 2022

The Friend Who Helped Steal an Ant-Man Suit – Image via Marvel Studios Michael Peña’s Luis was introduced in the 2015 Ant-Man movie as a former prison inmate, who became friends with Scott Lang while they were still in prison. They remained friends and business partners after their release. Luis was instrumental in the heist that had Lang rob Hank Pym’s ( Michael Douglas ) home to steal the Ant-Man suit, which was an audition that Pym set up to recruit Lang as the new Ant-Man.

Later on, the trio of Luis, Dave, and Kurt assist Scott, Hank, and Hope Van Dyne ( Evangeline Lilly ) in the heist with the intent to steal the Yellowjacket suit from Pym Technologies, Luis was also instrumental in connecting Sam Wilson ( Anthony Mackie ) with Scott Lang, leading to Lang joining Captain America’s outlaw group of Avengers that fought against Iron Man’s group at the airport in Berlin, Germany during Captain America: Civil War,

Later on, the group attempts to go legit, starting the security company X-Con Consultants, while Lang was still under house arrest due to the events of Civil War, Luis was also helpful in the fight against Sonny Burch ( Walton Goggins ) in Ant-Man and The Wasp,

While it’s unknown what happened to Luis, Dave, and Kurt after Thanos’ snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Luis’ van did survive intact. The van, which was outfitted with Hank Pym’s quantum tunnel, was also significant in Avengers: Endgame, It allowed Scott Lang, who was left stranded in the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp, to return to Earth in Endgame, even though five years had passed.

The van even made an appearance during the final battle with Thanos ( Josh Brolin ) in Endgame when the heroes attempted to use the still-working quantum tunnel inside the van to keep the Nanogauntlet with the Infinity Stones away from Thanos. However, Thanos destroyed the van with his sword before the heroes could utilize it, and Luis’ van was destroyed.

How old is Natasha in endgame?

How Old Natasha And Yelena Were When Black Widow Died – Natasha’s death in Avengers: Endgame happened in 2023, when she traveled to Vormir with Hawkeye to retrieve the Soul Stone and learned from the Red Skull (Ross Marquand) that the sacrifice of life has to be made to acquire the Infinity Stone. Natasha chose to be the sacrifice and so, Romanoff was 39 years old when she died, but the time travel in Avengers: Endgame creates a little bit of a complication.

Romanoff and Barton used the Quantum Realm to journey back to 2014 so they could beat Thanos (Josh Brolin) to the Soul Stone by 4 years. In 2014, Natasha was 30, which was how old she was in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In Black Widow ‘s post-credits scene, Yelena visits Natasha’s grave in an Ohio cemetery when her grieving is interrupted by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss), who gives Yelena a mission to target Clint Barton as the person to blame for Natasha’s death.

This set up Yelena’s role in Hawkeye on Disney+. Yelena paying her respects at her sister’s memorial is set in either late 2023 or 2024, which should make Yelena either 34 or 35 in MCU Phase 4. However, Hawkeye later revealed this wasn’t exactly the case.
