Is Rey pregnant with twins

Answered By: Fred Collins Date: created: Aug 08 2024

There is nothing to suggest in any of the cinematic language framing the end of The Rise of Skywalker that Rey is pregnant. She does not have a baby bump, her hand never goes to her stomach to indicate she’s carrying a child, and there wasn’t exactly any time for her to have conceived a child in the course of the film.

Is Rey related to Luke

Answered By: Raymond Flores Date: created: Feb 19 2024

2019’s ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ revealed Rey to be the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine. Image via Lucasfilm Star Wars sequel trilogy actress Daisy Ridley has shared her thoughts on Rey’s family tree. Ridley recently spoke about the reveal of Rey being a Palpatine in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, in an interview with Rolling Stone,

Rey was first introduced in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, She was living on the desert planet Jakku, trying to survive as a scavenger. Later in the film, she has multiple visions while holding Luke and Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber, including one of her being abandoned on Jakku when she was younger.

After the film’s release, many fans expected to learn that Rey was related to an important character in Star Wars, similar to how Luke Skywalker ( Mark Hamill ) and Leia Organa ( Carrie Fisher ) were related to Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. The villain Kylo Ren ( Adam Driver ) was also the son of Leia and Han Solo ( Harrison Ford ).

However, in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it was revealed that her parents were not characters that Star Wars fans would already know. Later, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker revealed that her grandfather was actually Emperor Palpatine ( Ian McDiarmid ). It was also revealed that Palpatine was alive, and went up against Rey at the end of the film.

In the interview, Ridley talked about her view on Rey being revealed to be a Palpatine. “What was interesting about the last one, for me, was that you can be a hero and not come from anywhere or you can be a hero and come from literally the worst person in the universe,” said Ridley. Image via Lucasfilm Ridley also talked about what the reveal of Rey’s family added to her story. “I do love the version of, you can be anyone you want to be, but I also love the version where you can rectify wrongs and can’t help what you’re born into,” said Ridley.

At the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey visited Luke’s childhood home on Tatooine. While on the planet, when someone asked her who she was, Rey responded by saying that she was “Rey Skywalker.” Although she wasn’t related to them, both Luke and Leia had been mentors to Rey throughout the sequel trilogy.

All three films of the Star Wars sequel trilogy are currently available to stream on Disney+. In the meantime, check out this Collider interview with Ridley on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker below:

Who is Rey the daughter of

” Everything you do, everywhere you go, you have the hope of a galaxy with you. ” ―Leia Organa, to Rey Rey Skywalker, once known only as Rey, or as Rey Palpatine, was a human female Jedi Master who fought on the side of the Resistance in the war against the First Order,

A former scavenger from the planet Jakku, her life was changed by the tumultuous events of the last days of the New Republic Era, Her decision to help the droid BB-8 set Rey on a course to discovering the Force that awakened within her, leading her to seek out Jedi Master Luke Skywalker for training,

Yet despite her commitment to the Jedi Order and the light side of the Force, Rey felt the pull to the dark side due to her anger and the adversarial relationship she had with Ben Solo, a fallen Jedi whom she knew as the dark warrior Kylo Ren. The unique Force-bond between them was a result of their nature as a dyad in the Force,

  • Rey was born on Hyperkarn in 15 ABY during the rise of the New Republic,
  • Her father, Dathan, was a bioengineered Strand-Cast cloned from the genetic template of Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord who ruled the Galactic Empire as Emperor Palpatine.
  • The clone and his wife, Miramir, chose to live as simple junk traders in order to hide their daughter, who inherited Sidious’ connection to the Force, from his followers,

After the deaths of her parents, Rey was forced to survive on her own in the Jakku desert, and became a skilled mechanic, pilot, and combatant in the process. Her isolated life was disrupted shortly before war broke out across the galaxy in 34 ABY,

  1. Determined to help the Resistance, Rey gained several new allies including Finn, a renegade stormtrooper, as well as the veterans Han Solo and Chewbacca,
  2. In the course of their journey, she discovered her latent Force powers and sought guidance under Skywalker, who taught her the art of the Force despite his decision to end the Jedi legacy.

After Skywalker sacrificed himself to save the Resistance, Rey assumed his mantle as the last Jedi and became the apprentice of General Leia Organa, With the return of Darth Sidious in 35 ABY, Rey set out to find the dark world of Exegol and prevent the Sith from being reborn.

  • It was through Kylo Ren that Rey discovered her origins as the Dark Lord’s granddaughter, and upon confronting Sidious in person, she was nearly swayed to the dark side of the Force, thus falling into his trap of transferring his spirit into her, which will allow him to possess her body.
  • However, Rey was saved by Ben Solo after he renounced his dark alter ego.

Aided by the spirits of all the Jedi, Rey died vanquishing her grandfather, causing Solo to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to bring Rey back to life. The two embraced and shared a kiss as Solo peacefully vanished in Rey’s arms. Although Solo was the last of the Skywalker bloodline, Rey assumed the name “Skywalker” to honor their memory, repudiating her own heritage as a Palpatine,

Answered By: Cody Cook Date: created: Jan 21 2024

But Rey responded that she was all of the Jedi. Aided by the spirits of the Jedi who had come before her, she used both Luke and Leia’s lightsabers to deflect Sidious’s Force energies back at him, destroying the Sith Lord once and for all. This monumental effort left Rey dead.

Is Rey a Sith Lord

Answered By: Jacob Adams Date: created: Jun 28 2024

Early Life – I have foreseen what she can become. For this young girl, known her whole life only as Rey, has more than just power. She has my power. And though she may fear what she truly is, I revel in that truth. She is a Palpatine. And soon, I shall make certain she embraces her destiny —Darth Sidious about Rey Rey’s father was a strandcast produced from the genetic template of Darth Sidious, making her the Sith Lord’s “granddaughter.” Born in 15 ABY on the planet Hyperkarn, Rey was the daughter of a young man and woman, whose names were lost to history. Her father Dathan, was the cloned “son,” a bioengineered strandcast, of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, making her the granddaughter of the fallen Galactic Emperor and Dark Lord of the Sith.

Though Sidious had not anticipated his son’s relationship with Rey’s mother, Miramir, he sought to claim their child who, unlike his son, inherited his strong connection to the Force. As a scion of the Palpatine bloodline, Rey was a receptacle strong enough to hold her grandfather’s spirit, which was trapped in an imperfect cloned body.

To protect Rey from her sinister grandfather and his followers, her parents escaped into hiding, choosing to become ordinary junk traders to keep their daughter safe, whom they loved dearly.

Why is Rey the only Jedi

Answered By: Jeffery Jackson Date: created: Aug 16 2024

A Thousand Generations Live in You Now – Lucasfilm Ltd. At the end of the Battle of Crait, Luke declared that he would not be the last Jedi right before the camera switched its focus onto Rey. Luke’s Force spirit in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker later told Rey that a “thousand generations” lived in her now.

During Rey’s confrontation with Palpatine on Exegol, she was able to call upon the strength of “all the Jedi.” It could not be more obvious that Rey has become the one to carry the torch, with her even adopting “Skywalker” as her new surname. By the end of The Rise of Skywalker, Rey had become the last known Jedi of the Skywalker Saga.

With all that being said, Rey was not left as the last remaining Force-sensitive character. Both Maz Kanata and Finn were Force-sensitive, and Finn even became a Jedi in the non-canon animated special, LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation (via CBR ). It wasn’t until the sequels that Leia tapped more into her Force abilities, indicating that some people do not become fully aware of their abilities or use them until later on in their lives.

Why does Kylo kiss Rey?

While there were problematic elements with all the Star Wars films that were made since Disney acquired the franchise, the most complaints were raised about the final movie, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Several moments in this film didn’t seem to fit the world or felt too forced and cheesy to audience members.

One particular scene involves the romance between Rey and Kylo Ren. The negative feedback for this final film led to fans viewing it as a disappointing “conclusion” to the storyline, as it left viewers with more questions than were answered in the film. Mainly, why set up a romance so late, considering the final movie is the only film in the series that explores a romantic connection between Kylo Ren and Rey? In response, Disney and Abrams have denied that this kiss was romantic, insisting that it was more of a familial relationship and that the kiss was a kiss of gratitude instead of romance.

Nonetheless, there’s no denying that the way it was performed and shot felt romantic, which is essentially what made it unsuccessful. There was no prior ground for setting up a romance between these two, which made the kiss stand out as feeling unnatural and forced. While many fans were not pleased by the kiss or what it brought (or didn’t bring) to the story, several were not surprised to see it. In fact, many Star Wars fans directly attribute the kiss to very specific and commonly used Disney formulas. Many of these fans believe that creators are trying to pass the kiss off as “gratitude” or an expression of Platonic love as a means of creating excuses for choosing to include the kiss, after the audience response was less than thrilled about it.

Those that picked up on the romance that was being set up leading to the kiss feel that the romance elements in the final film were too obvious to try to pass the kiss off as something more innocent than a passionate kiss. Many fans feel that the creators committed to setting up a love dynamic between the two, and only tried to deny it after the feedback proved negative.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi began to set up a connection between the two characters, but it seemed to function more as a ground of understanding between a force of the light and a force of the dark, The kiss does follow an otherwise intense and fitting situation where Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) must sacrifice himself to save Rey.

  • In this scene, Kylo Ren’s sacrifice and thus death are vital for him to come to the light side, but the kiss does nothing to add to that.
  • If anything, it feels like a distraction from what should be a touching and emotional moment for fans.
  • While the sacrifice was certainly worthy of Rey’s gratitude, it’s how she expressed the gratitude that fell short of seeming genuine.

A genuine response would have better reflected their relationship than the amount of gratitude she felt in that moment. In other words, the scene should have represented her appreciation for him as a person — his life — rather than what he did for her in this instance. Beyond having confusing motives and not fitting in the storyline, the kiss also reduces Rey’s complexity as a female protagonist. Many people are aware of the debate surrounding Disney princesses needing to find love to fulfill their character arcs. In typical Disney formula, this arc seems to run into the same issue with the kiss, weakening Rey.

  • Disney princess films where the princess doesn’t have to find love, like Brave, Frozen and Moana, have received praise for their storylines in which the princess can function as the hero, and does not need a romance to complete her story or fully realize her character.
  • That is, of course, how Disney’s Star Wars storyline was supposed to function as well.

However, the awkward romance and kiss with Kylo Ren has complicated that. In terms of how it affected Kylo Ren’s character arc, it seems to have worked better because love played a part in his transition to the light side. However, looking at it in that light, it feels like the decision to include the romance was made to benefit Kylo Ren, and thus feels a bit like a snub to Rey’s character.

  • Ylo Ren could have just as easily found love for Rey as a friend, without any romantic actions or implications.
  • Beyond what it meant for the characters, there are several other reasons that fans were disappointed by the kiss.
  • Either they were hoping for a romantic link between Kylo and Rey and felt that the relationship was set up but not fulfilled by the questionable kiss, or they were completely opposed to the idea of the two characters getting together because it didn’t make sense, considering they were enemies for most of the storyline.

The Star Wars franchise likes to sneak in interactions or dynamics between characters that hint to or reveal their connection. A good example is how Kylo Ren is actually Ben Solo, making his connection to the prior generations of Star Wars apparent and continuing on with the classic father/son dynamic of the franchise. Even if a romance between these two characters had been directly set up from the earlier movies, it still would likely have not been received well by viewers, In the modern times, audiences prefer female protagonists that aren’t reliant on or motivated by love or romance.

What’s more, Kylo Ren’s violence and threats towards Rey earlier in the trilogy make him a distasteful love interest in the eyes of many. The modern approach for writing stories not only calls for more female protagonists, but specifically female protagonists that are strong, determined, and motivated by factors that are more important to survival or to the individual dreams of the protagonist.

In the beginning, Rey seems to fit these standards, which is a big part of why the kiss threw fans off: it doesn’t seem to fit her character. If creators prioritized Rey’s storyline as the protagonist, the final outcome may have felt more fulfilling.

However, since The Rise of Skywalker was released, Disney has made several other films with strong female characters that aren’t focused on finding love. That being said, there is likely hope for stronger and more inspiring female characters coming from Disney’s Star Wars in the future — hopefully, in the near future and not light years away.

Were Rey and Ben in love

Answered By: Alexander Garcia Date: created: Jul 16 2024

Ben Solo/Kylo Ren – ” I did want to take your hand. Ben’s hand. ” ―Rey confessing her feelings to Kylo Ren Rey and Ben kissing. Ben Solo is the love of Rey’s life. Initially unknown to Rey, she forms a dyad in the Force with Ben. The dyad is an unbreakable Force-bond that makes them one in the Force, despite being born as two physically separated individuals.

  • Thus, despite not being related by blood, Ben is Rey’s other half, making him her ” soulmate ” or “twin of the Force”.
  • As such, they were connected before they even met.
  • Since Rey was very young, she was able to feel him through their connection, as seen when he was about to kill the previous leader of the Knights of Ren, Rey feels cold as Ben is falling into darkness.

She also had visions with him at least once prior to their first encounter, when she touched the Skywalker lightsaber at Maz Kanata ‘s castle, which later makes her recognize him as the figure she saw in a daydream and nightmare the first time she sees him in the battlefield on Takodana,

  1. Ben also probably experienced these feelings and/or visions about Rey as he is mystified upon seeing her for the first time and later seems to recognize her during their first battle on Starkiller Base when she gets the Skywalker saber from the snow.
  2. Together, they have an immense power, described as the power of life itself, being able to heal themselves and others, and even revive the dead at the cost of their own life energy.

As a dyad, they were designated to meet since their lifelines are inextricably joined by the Force and their fates are intertwined, with their bond allowing them to understand each other’s feelings and to grow stronger together. Upon meeting for the first time, Kylo and Rey started out as enemies, when she located and rescued BB-8, which led him to hunt her on Takodana.

  1. As Kylo finds her, he gives up looking for the droid and kidnaps Rey after sensing something in her.
  2. Rey saw Ren only as a masked creature hunting her, so she was surprised when she hears gentleness in his voice and even more after he unmasks revealing a normal face of a young man.
  3. While Ren takes his time searching Rey’s mind, she suddenly finds herself draw to his mind, which allows her to reveal his weakness and to completely awake her own powers.

After Ren killed Han Solo, Rey hated him, seeing him as a murderous monster. Wanting to avenge Han, she dueled and defeated Kylo with his grandfather’s lightsaber, scarring his face and leaving him to die. Eventually, she and Ren discovered they are bonded together through the Force as a result of them being a dyad.

While Kylo is immediately fascinated by the bond, Rey initially is irritated and shows her disdain for him. But she also tries to understand him as when she asks why he killed his own father, who had shown only love towards him until the very end. She is surprised when he replies that he did not hate Han, and irritated when Kylo points out her weakness, her attachment to her own parents.

Despite this, the two begin to connect on an emotional level. As their connection strengthens, they start to feel empathy towards each other through a shared sentiment of loneliness, and they try to comfort the other through their bond. Through their interactions they also show signs of a growing attraction towards each other.

Kylo became very fond of Rey, and at one point she even begins to refer to him as Ben, and he lets her do it. After leaving the mirror cave without answers about her parents, Rey feels lonely and lost, so she searches for him and tells everything about the event, thinking that he is the one that would understand her feelings.

When she finds him inside the hut after the bond connected them again, Rey is relieved to see him, and she becomes tempted to reach to touch his hand, face, and hair. As Kylo assures her that she is not alone, Rey reciprocates by telling him that he is not either.

  1. Upon learning the full truth of his fall to the dark side and feeling the conflict within him when they touch hands, Rey makes it her personal mission to redeem him.
  2. She also becomes very defensive of him, confronting Luke about the truth of Ben’s turn to the dark, and even stating that Ben Solo is their last hope to win the war.

When Rey went to meet him on the Supremacy in an attempt to convince him to turn to the light, Rey is able to sense his anger, confusion, pain, loneliness, longing and sorrow while they are talking in the elevator, and just before leaving to enter the throne room, she realizes that his feelings are not just about himself, but also related to her.

Then, Snoke reveals that he had manipulated their bond to lead Rey into a trap and starts to torture her in front of Ren, who becomes infuriated because of his feelings for her. When Snoke orders him to kill Rey, Ren surprised them by killing his own master to save her life. However, even after saving and fighting beside Rey against Snoke’s guards, he, despite his genuine affection for her, still chooses the dark side over returning with her to the light after Rey asked him to help her save the Resistance.

Instead, Ren offers his hand and tries unsuccessfully to sway her to his side, confessing that despite her origins, she is important to him. Disappointed after the failed attempt to turn each other, they are both frustrated. Although she briefly hesitates, Rey ends up rejecting his offer, even after hearing his pleas.

  1. Upon waking up before him in the throne room following their fight over the Skywalker saber, despite being heartbroken because of his decision to remain in the dark side, Rey also recognizes she acted on impulse because of her strong wish to help him.
  2. She realizes that him rejecting his own master wouldn’t mean that he would also resist the strong pull the dark side has over him, so she concludes that her mistake was thinking that Kylo Ren’s decision was simple.

Rey decides not to kill him before escaping the Supremacy, believing that his fate is up to the Force and not to her, and she wants to wait and see what future the Force has planned for him. Later, when the bond connects them again, Rey choses to close the door, showing her disappointment because of his decision.

  1. Following these events, they remained enemies but with a clearly complicated relationship.
  2. Rey tells to his mother about Ren’s proposal and the failed attempt to turn him to the light, and Leia notices that the girl genuinely cares about her son and that Ben is the reason of Rey’s depressed state.
  3. As Rey says that she only wished to help him and does not know how she can follow Leia’s advice to be rational in this situation, they both conclude that Ben will only turn back to the light on his own, in the case he wants to.

Despite her rejection, Kylo continued to pursue Rey determined to turn her to his side, which irritated Rey. She, at one point, feels the impulse to tell him to kiss a rathtar as he is trying to convince her about the darkness that exists in her. Despite this, upon seeing him through the connection for the first time after a whole year, she is in turmoil because of feelings she does not understand when she hears her own name on his lips after so long.

On Pasaana, while Ren is conflicted and fighting his own dark impulses that demand him to kill Rey to get rid of the one who is tempting him towards the light, Rey also feels confused after she took down his TIE whisper and caused it to crash-land, as she doesn’t know if she wanted him dead or alive.

Upon meeting her on the Steadfast, he finally reveals to Rey about her Palpatine lineage and that they are a dyad in another attempt to convince her to join him. Rey refuses his offer again, although she is tempted to join him because after Snoke’s death she, as Kylo, came to believe that they are able to do incredible things together.

  • Rey gets really upset with Kylo for telling her about her Palpatine lineage, but she is simultaneously grateful and in wonder after knowing about their dyad.
  • On Kef Bir, Rey becomes furious when Kylo destroys the second Sith wayfinder that she just found because he wants her to go to Exegol with him.

She ignites her lightsaber, attacks him and becomes even more infuriated when she realizes that he is just dodging and defending but not attacking, unwilling to fight her back. During their duel, Rey states through their bond that nobody really knows her, but Kylo assures her again that he in fact does, even after she denied it.

  • Because of Leia’s sacrifice, Rey is brought back from her state of rage in which she was dominated by the dark side, and she realizes that she has no wish to see him dead.
  • Thus, following their duel, moved by regret as well as by her unconditional love for Ben, Rey heals the wound she inflicted herself on him.

As he was fatally injured, she has to give a lot of her own life energy in order to save him, but she is willing to die for him if she needs to. She then confesses to him that she was indeed willing to join him as Ben Solo, which confirmed her romantic feelings but that she would never be with him as long as he was in the dark side.

Almost killing him during this duel is what makes Rey decide to isolate herself on Ahch-To, wishing not to fight him ever again. But while Rey fears she is endangering her loved ones and becoming like her grandfather, Luke’s Force spirit reassures Rey that despite of what she did, she also saved Ren’s life which shows that she has a good heart.

Right after, Rey was proven correct that he could be redeemed, as Ren renounced the dark side thinking about the wish of his loved ones (his parents and Rey) that wanted him to come back to the light side. Now moved only by his desire to save Rey, Ben followed her to Exegol to help her.

  • Sensing how Ben Solo had changed and that he came to her aid during the battle against her grandfather, Rey becomes very emotional and close to tears.
  • She and Ben feel that their connection is right and it finally feels like coming home.
  • Rey realizes that this is how the bond was always supposed to be, but Snoke and Palpatine had took that from them when Ben was corrupted to fall to the dark.

Inspired by Ben and their connection, Rey becomes determined to fight Palpatine and not to submit to his wishes. Rey becomes horrified upon witnessing her grandfather throwing Ben in a pit. She feels the impulse to scream, but she is so weakened after Palpatine stole the energy of their dyad that she is barely able to react.

When Ben falls in the pit, Rey becomes unable to sense him, which makes her feel carved out and broken. She attempts to reach for him through their bond shortly after, but as she has no response, she concludes that the connection must also have been weakened by Palpatine’s Force drain. She cries of frustration while watching the Emperor using an impressive amount of power for evil, as she knows that all that power belongs to herself and Ben.

After she managed to destroy her grandfather, Rey’s last action before dying is to try to reach for Ben again, but she succumbs to her injuries and falls on the ground before she is able to. Though he was gravely injured by the Emperor, Ben survived the fall in the pit and found Rey’s lifeless body as the result of her confrontation against Palpatine.

Unable to accept her death, Ben decides to give her the rest of his own life energy to revive her. As Rey wakes up in his arms, she covers his hand with her own, finally accepting it. She also surprises him by smiling and showing she is happy to see him, something he was not expecting after being rejected by her several times.

They gaze and smile fondly at each other before finally giving in to their romantic feelings, sharing a passionate kiss. Shortly after, while Ben is still in her arms, he succumbs to his wounds and vanishes into the Force. Rey continues to clasp Ben’s hand to herself as she watches her soulmate disappear, leaving nothing but his empty tunic behind.

Despite him having no regrets in giving his whole self to her and helping to bring Rey back to the galaxy, Rey is heavily distressed by his disappearance and upon realizing he had sacrificed himself for her. She cries feeling that half of her soul was ripped from her, which in fact it was. She mourns that she missed the chance to know and be with Ben.

She is also heartbroken that she was unaware to be part of a connection all along, which is what she wanted her whole life after so many years alone on Jakku, and it was taken from her. But then when she hears his voice through the Force assuring her that he’ll be always with her, she is comforted in realizing that in some way he is not actually gone, and that they would always be together.

Why does Leia disappear when Ben dies?

‘Rise of Skywalker’ theory solves one of its biggest Kylo Ren mysteries While it’s been more than a month since the release of, fans are still poring over every detail of the film. In a pivotal scene, reaches out to Kylo Ren with the Force while he’s fighting Rey.

  1. Though she only whispers his name, it seems to draw Kylo back from the brink of darkness.
  2. A startling fan theory suggests Leia may have also played a key role in saving Rey as well, while putting to rest one of,
  3. In the final showdown between Rey, Ben Solo and the resurrected Emperor Palpatine, Sheev mercilessly tosses the newly redeemed Ben into a deep hole, leaving Rey with two lightsabers and the encouraging voices of long-dead Jedi at her disposal.

Physically and mentally spent, Rey collapses after defeating Palpatine and dies. Rey may have smooched someone else. Lucasfilm Ben then crawls out of the hole, miraculously still alive, to save Rey with his Force healing abilities. After Rey returns to the land of the living, she kisses Ben before he dies and his body disappears for good, presumably becoming one with the Force.

  1. At least, that’s what The Rise of Skywalker would have us believe.
  2. Theorizes that Ben/Kylo didn’t save Rey at all.
  3. Instead, it was Leia working through her son – that’s why he disappears so quickly after healing Rey.
  4. Wait, what? Yeah, it’s a bit complicated, but the gist is that Kylo did actually die when Palpatine threw him into the hole.

After all, he did smash into a rock on his way down. At this point in the movie, Leia isn’t dead, only comatose. Knowing Kylo was already a goner by then, she uses the last of her Force power to project an image of Kylo so as not to freak Rey out and save her.

The idea stems from the scene where Luke Skywalker Force projects himself to Kylo in The Last Jedi, altering his projection to appear as a younger version of himself. That means Leia could alter her appearance as well, right? Here’s what the theorist wrote about how it all went down: “So Leia Force projects herself as Ben and uses her life force to save Rey.

Even going as far as to kiss Rey to convince her it’s Ben. It’s why when Ben disappeared, so did Leia.” Did Leia use the last of her strength to save Rey? Lucasfilm As far-fetched as it might seem, the theory makes a ton of sense. It’s also in line with a that said Leia was behind her son’s vision of Han, using her waning strength to conjure him in a Force projection.

While it’s a bit disturbing to think Rey kissed Leia’s projection, it just might explain why Kylo doesn’t say anything before or after Rey is resurrected, because Leia was “worried she would get caught.” The Rise of Skywalker theory also expounds upon the reason why Leia’s body disappeared at the same time Kylo’s did.

Sure, one could argue that Leia was waiting around for her son’s redemption, but the theory offers a clever workaround the puzzling moment. While we may never learn the true reason behind this specific scene, this theory offers a modicum of closure. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently playing in theaters.

Why is Rey’s lightsaber yellow

Answered By: Alejandro Evans Date: created: Apr 08 2024

How Did Rey Get a Yellow Lightsaber Crystal? – Again, we don’t know exactly, but unless she found an old Jedi Temple Guard pike, Rey likely found a cache of pure kyber crystals and bonded one to her. A crystal embodies the Jedi as the heart of the lightsaber, and pure kyber has no color until it’s bonded to the Force user.

Why is Rey so powerful

Answered By: Landon Ross Date: created: Nov 02 2023

Rey displays unique and powerful Force powers with limited training and channels all previous Jedi thanks to being a Force dyad with Ben Solo. Rey displays remarkable powers with restricted training in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, and the extent of her powers raises an important question: could she be more powerful than Anakin and Luke Skywalker? Rey’s path as a budding Jedi is fascinating to watch.

  1. By the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey has defeated her Sith lord grandfather Palpatine, and crafted her very own yellow lightsaber from her old staff.
  2. As she discovers her powers and learns to harness them, it’s impossible for the viewers not to compare her to Anakin and Luke Skywalker, the other two Jedi who they’ve seen grow into their power on-screen.

Rey receives very limited training; she’s seen training her Force powers with Luke in The Last Jedi, as well as more complex combat training with Leia in The Rise of Skywalker, Luke likewise received limited training in the original trilogy, first with Obi-Wan Kenobi and then with Yoda, but clearly evolved since then to become a full-fledged Jedi.

  • Meanwhile, Anakin is the only one with substantial training; he was recruited as a child and trained as a padawan in the Jedi Order in a more traditional way, as shown in The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones,
  • Admittedly, Rey skills couldn’t possibly be as developed as Anakin’s or Luke’s.
  • Nevertheless, considering how fast of a learner she is, and how unique the powers she possesses are, it’s not a stretch to say that Rey could be a more powerful Jedi than Anakin and Luke Skywalker.

What sets Rey apart is her mindset. She’s not as headstrong or prone to anger as the Skywalkers are, making her a much faster learner. For example, in The Force Awakens, she’s able to mimic Kylo Ren’s mind probe power as he’s torturing her, and she turns it against him without any training.

  • Not long after, she’s able to successfully use the Jedi mind trick to convince the guard to release her so she can escape.
  • This ease of power-sharing is explained in The Rise of Skywalker when it’s revealed that Rey and Kylo are a Force dyad, which means they are one in the Force.
  • It explains not only their connection but the speed at which she can learn new powers.

She can tap into Kylo Ren’s knowledge and power, and the fact that she can wield them so rapidly is a hint at how powerful she can grow to be in the future. Rey displays other very unique Force powers from both the light and dark side. For example, The Star Wars Book reveals that, when she is called to Anakin’s lightsaber in The Force Awakens, Rey’s Force visions are actually psychometry, That power is first seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars —it lets a Jedi experience moments from the past by touching objects.

She also displays healing powers in The Rise of Skywalker, healing a serpent as well as Ben Solo, as well as Force lightning, a signature power of her grandfather Palpatine. Ultimately, the Force dyad that links Rey and Kylo Ren makes Rey the most powerful Jedi between her and the Skywalkers. A Force dyad is described as being more powerful than life itself, striking a perfect balance between the light and dark side.

It lets Rey use a multitude of unique powers as well as learn new ones seemingly instantaneously through her bond with Kylo. Since a Force dyad transcends time and space, Rey will most likely keep the bond with Ben Solo even after his passing away at the end of The Rise of Skywalker,

Is Rey related to Obi

Answered By: Simon Collins Date: created: Dec 07 2024

Rey went from nobody to Palpatine to Skywalker in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but the idea of her being a Kenobi was also considered. Rey was almost revealed as a Kenobi in Star Wars, an idea that would have radically changed the entire sequel trilogy. Although Rey ended up being Palpatine’s granddaughter, director J.J. Abrams also considered making her a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi, a popular fan theory since the beginning of the sequel trilogy.

  • This would have been a radically different approach to Rey’s arc in the final version of the sequels and added new context to the entire Star Wars saga.
  • The reveal of Rey being Palpatine’s granddaughter was criticized for happening too late in the trilogy and for contradicting her arc in the previous film.

Rey Kenobi would likely have faced similar criticisms, but the different possibilities may have resulted in a stronger story as well. It’s hard to know for sure whether Rey Kenobi would have benefited the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but it certainly would have changed the films in 10 distinct ways.

Who is Rey’s actual father

Answered By: Michael Roberts Date: created: Sep 29 2023

Father of Rey – ” They were nobody. ” ” They were filthy junk traders who sold you off for drinking money. ” ―Rey and Kylo Ren Dathan married Miramir and sired a daughter, Rey, who was born in 15 ABY. In addition to rejecting Sidious, Dathan married a woman named Miramir, whom he fell in love with. Together, they conceived a child, their daughter Rey, who was born in 15 ABY,

Although he renounced the Sith Eternal and his donor, the Palpatine bloodline would prosper through him, just as Sidious predicted. While Sidious had not anticipated Dathan’s relationship with Miramir, he nonetheless saw it as an opportunity because his granddaughter, unlike his clone, inherited his connection to the Force,

Rey was therefore deemed the perfect vessel for her grandfather’s essence. Dathan eventually settled with his family on Jakku, a backwater world where Rey’s parents struggled to survive as junk traders, Despite his efforts to stay hidden from his father’s agents, they eventually tracked the clone and his family to Jakku.

  1. Following the Sith assassin Ochi ‘s hunt for them, Dathan and his wife stole Ochi’s starship, the Bestoon Legacy, to return to Jakku; the threat of discovery compelled Rey’s parents to leave her with Unkar Plutt,
  2. As reluctant as they were to leave Rey behind, they did so to protect her from Sidious.

As they bid their goodbyes, Dathan also noticed as Miramir took a necklace of Aki-Aki beads from Plutt, which she stated would be their insurance.

Is Rey more powerful than Anakin?

ANAKIN – More Powerful – From the very beginning, we knew Anakin was destined to be the most powerful Jedi ever and bring balance to the force as the chosen one. This caused the rest of the Jedi council to be wary of him and somewhat hold him back as he got older and more in touch with the force.

Is Rey Luke’s daughter

Answered By: Austin Gonzales Date: created: Jun 23 2024

Rey’s parentage was an ongoing mystery in the Star Wars sequel trilogy – here’s how it would have been changed if she was Luke Skywalker’s daughter. Rey’s lineage was the subject of much speculation in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but what if the theory of her being Luke Skywalker’s daughter was true? This would fundamentally change Rey’s relationship with Luke in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and would certainly have significant repercussions in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,

  • Luke’s questionable characterization in The Last Jedi, seen as inconsistent with the original trilogy, would be altered by this new context, and it’s easy to imagine that the movie would have a different resolution for the Jedi Master.
  • Although the mystery of Rey’s parentage was a major component of the Star Wars sequel films, the franchise and its fandom became too occupied with the question, and thus it became easy to lose sight of what makes her interesting on her own merits.

This mystery was especially prevalent in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but The Last Jedi overcorrected it by claiming Rey is not related to any established original trilogy Star Wars characters, Then The Rise of Skywalker revealed, in an out-of-left-field retcon, that Rey is the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine.

Rey’s heritage is certainly an interesting facet of her character, but the first two Star Wars sequel films put far too much focus on it, either to emphasize its importance or to render it meaningless. Ultimately, whomever Rey is related to ought to have been used as a vessel to enrich her characterization and create compelling character dynamics.

Establishing Rey as related to Luke Skywalker or Emperor Palpatine — or nobody — shouldn’t be why she’s a compelling character, but if she was the daughter of the Star Wars character that she has the most in common with, here’s how the Star Wars sequel trilogy would have been different.
