She’s been constantly let down by the police, and their inability to get involved has resulted in Justin being able to do this really horrific, evil, violent crime.” She continued: “On one hand you think lucky me to be given a dramatic storyline, like you say after a lot of lighter, comedic stories under her belt.

It’s so awful that we even have to do it.” Ryan Connor actor Ryan Prescott said previously: “It will change the way he interacts with the world and the recovery. Does Daisy marry Daniel?
Heartbreaking Corrie split ahead as actor says Daniel ‘can’t forgive’ Daisy actor Rob Mallard has teased Daniel and Daisy could split after she shares a kiss with Ryan. Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was planning to marry Daniel Osbourne ( ) but their plans were derailed by a horrific acid attack at the hands of evil stalker Justin.
Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) was hit by the corrosive liquid as he jumped between Daisy and Ryan, leaving him struggling with his own facial injuries and the emotional scars over what happened. Rob has now teased that Daniel and Daisy could split as Ryan gets closer to Daisy. With the pair having already kissed once, and set to do it again next week, it looks like things will be getting more difficult for all involved.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Rob revealed: “Daniel would be able to sympathise with Ryan more than Daisy in this situation. “Ryan has been through a difficult time thinking that no one wants him and you can understand why someone would want to take anything they could get in this situation.
- I think the fact that Daisy’s doing it throws his head into chaos because she’s already had Ryan in the past.
- What does she want and what’s she doing really messes with his head.” He added: “The triangle between Daniel, Ryan and Daisy is going to get more intense.” Daniel and Daisy had their wedding postponed owing to the attack, but that doesn’t mean Rob wouldn’t want to see the two characters tie the knot again soon as he thinks they make a great couple.
Asked if they will eventually get married, he added: “I hope so. I think they work really well together. They have very different personalities but opposites attract don’t they? They make a good couple, an unlikely couple, but a good one.” Things turn tricky for Ryan and Daisy next week, after he learns of her deceit with Crystal.
She knows she is fully in the wrong so she can only try and justify it from where her intentions were coming from, but she knows that it was not the right thing to do and she knows that lying about it was also not the right thing to do,” Charlotte told the Metro. “These are decisions she has made so she has to deal with the punishments now.
Ryan’s reaction is entirely justified and it’s her own fault! She lies, she’s deceitful and she gets herself into these situations!” : Heartbreaking Corrie split ahead as actor says Daniel ‘can’t forgive’ Daisy
Did Ryan and Daisy get together
Coronation Street spoilers follow. Coronation Street star Ryan Prescott has spoken about the possibility of his character Ryan Connor and Rovers barmaid Daisy Midgeley becoming a proper couple. Ryan and Daisy are currently keeping their distance from each other after twice sharing secret kisses earlier this year, but they’ll be back in each other’s orbits within the next few weeks. ITV Related: 12 huge Coronation Street spoilers for next week Digital Spy was granted exclusive video access to the shoot and spoke to each of the cast involved. Asked whether his character could get together with Daisy, Ryan told Digital Spy : “There’s definitely a chance, he’s rooting for it! When you’ve been through an extreme violence situation with someone, it bonds you together.
So there’s always this silent bond between Ryan and Daisy and I think we get to expand on that a little bit. “Ryan is pretty much falling in love with Daisy, although it’s the last thing that he wants to admit to himself. That becomes part of his denial. There’s a lot of psychologically twisted ‘maybes’ in there, but there’s definitely a chance for them.
“But I think there’s something else to be said as well – Ryan also has respect for Daniel, so it puts them both in a very awkward situation.” ITV Related: Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger reveals “worry” over Stephen storyline Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy, has already confirmed that her character will get involved in Ryan’s big new storyline. Next week’s episodes see Ryan set up an x-rated account on an Only Fans-style platform after Peter Barlow puts pressure on him to start contributing towards the rent at the flat.
Ryan sees the online account as a way to make some quick cash, but he also enjoys the confidence boost he receives from his followers. Speaking about the storyline, Ryan Prescott continued: “For Ryan, it’s 100% about the validation. There is a financial side to it where he’s trying to help pay rent to Peter and Carla.
They’re indebted to Rufus’ wife because of the stolen watch, so he’s trying to do his bit. ITV Related: Coronation Street star Channique Sterling-Brown confirms new story for Dee-Dee Bailey “It’s also for Ryan to feel that he’s still independent. That becomes another justification for him for why he should do this work and I think that’s all he needs.
But it’s much more about the validation than anything else.” Ryan also reflected on Corrie ‘s nominations at the Inside Soap Awards 2023, which will take place this September. On why Corrie deserves support this year, Ryan said: “We’ve pulled out all the stops, we really have. I know every soap does! “All I can say is we’re literally working around the clock to try and create new storylines and new ideas that bring people in.
As actors, we’re trying our best to create nuanced performances that help people to invest and relate to the characters. “People are always going through things themselves, so if they can see a little bit of something within those roles and those storylines, I think that’s the most important thing.
- It’s worth going for it – give Corrie a vote this year!” Ryan features in the Best Actor, Best Storyline and Best Showstopper categories at the Inside Soap Awards and you can watch our full behind-the-scenes video from the nominees photoshoot at the top of the page.

Is Daisy injured in Coronation Street
Coronation Street ‘s Charlotte Jordan has received high praise this week after her involvement in the show’s acid attack storyline – but did you know that it’s not her first time covering this gritty subject matter? The ITV1 soap aired distressing scenes on Monday night (March 27) as Charlotte’s character Daisy Midgeley was targeted by evil stalker Justin Rutherford on her wedding day. ITV // ITV Coincidentally, Charlotte previously explored a similar storyline on another long-running ITV drama. In 2007, when Charlotte was a child actress, she appeared as a guest star in one episode of The Bill, This was her first ever TV role. Charlotte – then credited as Charlie Evans – appeared as Jemma Jackson, a 12-year-old girl who was the victim of an acid attack. ITV // ITV In a chat with Digital Spy after joining Corrie in 2021, Charlotte reflected on this early TV outing – unaware at the time that Daisy would be involved in a similar plot just two years later. Charlotte told us at the time: “I did acting as a kid.
- I stopped for a good chunk of time afterwards and then I started up again as an adult.
- On The Bill, I played a little girl called Jemma who was the unintentional victim of an acid attack.
- I didn’t really have any lines, I didn’t have to say anything, I just had to scream and flail about in pain.
- So it was a weird first job because it was prosthetics from the acid and then screaming, really.” While The Bill ‘s version was just a short one-episode storyline, Corrie ‘s plot will run for much longer as the show explores Ryan’s recovery and how his mental health is affected.
Daisy will also face a journey of her own – even though she wasn’t to blame, she can’t help feeling guilty as she knows that the acid was intended for her. Charlotte recently said: “To do something like that with acid, I don’t know how you can possibly understand it or get to that point. ITV Since returning to the acting business as an adult, Charlotte’s main TV job outside of Corrie has been the Netflix series Free Rein, on which she played Gaby Grant. In her 2021 chat, Charlotte said: “You start with anything you can get a hold of.
- I just did guesting parts – little bits here, little bits there.
- Then the biggest part was Free Rein,
- That went for two, two-and-a-half years.
- Corrie came straight out of lockdown, so I’ve not really done a great deal beforehand.
- But it’s brilliant working on a soap.
- I find it really interesting working on something that’s not got a beginning, middle and an end.
That’s something that is new.” Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX. ITV Related: Why everyone left Coronation Street this year Elaine’s Tai Chi instructor Gerry jumped at the opportunity to get to know her better now that Stephen is out of the picture, even asking her out for a drink. While Elaine was flattered by Gerry’s interest, she turned him down – explaining that she simply isn’t ready to date again so soon after her split from Stephen. ITV Digital Spy has learned from a Coronation Street source that viewers will see Elaine again – and she may well be frustrated by Stephen’s latest actions once she returns. Stephen had asked Sarah to retrieve his briefcase, and once alone with it in the hospital, he tore up the supposed ‘suicide note’ he’d planned to use if he’d killed Elaine.
The killer was all too willing to move on from his break-up as he openly flirted with Jenny Connor. Producers have already confirmed that Stephen will continue romancing Jenny in future weeks. Viewers will see Stephen offering to lend a hand around the Rovers once he discovers Jenny’s financial trouble, hoping to ingratiate himself with her in the process.

I’m going to really miss Peter. He’s a brilliant performer and I’m sure he’s going to go onto lots of really brilliant things. “You are only entrusted with that level of storyline if the programme makers really rate you. That’s the tough side of it. Obviously because of where that story will head, it means Peter leaving the show.
But he’ll be leaving on such a high, and I think he’ll get loads of other work as well when he goes.” ITV Related: Coronation Street star Paddy Bever confirms drama in Max’s new romance plot Gareth predicted that Todd can be a supportive figure to Paul now that their past animosity has been set aside. - Not even I really know exactly how yet.
- They don’t trust actors with things like storylines, as they know what we’re like! But I know a little bit of what will be happening there.
- Now that we’ve passed that and gone beyond, Todd is being a bit more introspective.
- He is getting a bit more perspective on life and maybe realises that he’s not always the main person.
“It means that Todd is now able to explore that friendship. That idea of him taking the rap for Paul recently was maybe something that Todd felt he had to do in order to redeem himself.” Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.

What accent do they have in Coronation Street?
Geographical coverage – The Manchester accent is relatively localised, and is usually found in Greater Manchester including the cities of Salford and Manchester and also in the immediately adjacent parts of the boroughs of Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford,
- It is also prominent in “overspill” towns and estates such as Hattersley, Gamesley, Handforth and Birchwood,
- The famous Manc twang is heard in areas of Central Manchester and neighbouring Salford whilst northern areas of Greater Manchester associate more with traditional Lancashire.
- The derogatory term ‘Yonner’ was originally used to describe people from Oldham and Rochdale who spoke with a thick Lancashire accent.
It is now often used to describe anyone from the northern boroughs of Greater Manchester who speak with a Lancashire accent. The dialect itself is more distinctive than many people realise. The Mancunian accent is less dialect-heavy than neighbouring Lancashire and Cheshire accents, although words such as owt (meaning ‘anything’) and nowt (meaning ‘nothing’) remain part of the Mancunian vocabulary. - Salford poet John Cooper Clarke is another example of a working-class Mancunian accent as can be heard in his spoken-word recordings.
Also from Salford is comedian Jason Manford, whose Manc accent adds to his comedic style. Other notable Manc speakers include boxer Ricky Hatton (from Hattersley, Hyde) and the actor Bernard Hill (from Blackley). Dominic Monaghan speaks with a notable Manc accent, and his characters in both Lost and FlashForward have made note of it.

Manchester’s most famous soap opera Coronation Street has, despite being based in the city (a fictionalised version of Salford), less pronounced Mancunian accents than other TV shows set in the area. Daisy Midgeley is set to face more turmoil in the coming weeks as her stalker hell intensifies in Coronation Street. The character, played by Charlotte Jordan, will reach her breaking point when admirer Justin steps up his harassment campaign. Daisy met Jordan before the end of last year when she was awaiting her own scan results in the hospital after finding a lump in her breast.
- As she nervously waited for the results, a man nearby, who we now know to be Justin, noticed that Daisy was upset and went to sit with her and after they got talking, he told her that he was there with his mother, who has terminal cancer.
- Since then, Justin’s infatuation with Daisy has only grown with him sending countless bouquets of flowers to her at the Rovers.
He even startled Daisy when he showed up at a wedding fair as she tried on dresses for her big day with Daniel Osbourne. READ MORE: ITV Corrie’s Charlotte Jordan shares defiant message on ‘victim blaming mentality’ amid Daisy’s stalker hell In scenes to air in the ITV soap next week, viewers will see Justin, who has been sending Daisy flowers and bombarding her with messages on social media, get hold of her number and starts sending her more messages.
- Encountering Justin bearing a bunch of flowers on Victoria Street, Daisy storms over, hurls the bouquet onto the pavement and stamps on it.
- But as Justin places a calming hand on her arm, Daisy sees red and punches him, witnessed by a shocked George.
- Justin reveals his mum has just died and he was visiting George to sort the arrangements leaving Daisy bursting into tears on Daniel’s shoulder.
PC Jess then invites Daisy to the station because Justin has accused her of assault. Charlotte joined Corrie as Daisy, the stepdaughter of Jenny Connor, back in 2020. Estranged from her mum, Daisy came to stay at the pub, reuniting with Jenny some years after they last saw each other. Off-screen, Charlotte is loved-up with her other half, Paul. The soap star tends to keep her private life out of the limelight so fans only get rare glimpses at the loved-up pair together.
Last summer, Charlotte shared a bunch of images to her Instagram page as she and Paul headed off to Paris. She shared images from museums while buried in the mix was a pic of the star relaxing back with a cocktail in the sun. There was also another of her other half, Paul, sipping on what looked like an Aperol Spritz outside on the streets of the French capital.
Then, Charlotte and her beau were spotted puckering up for a classic snap in front of the Eiffel Tower. But Paul has actually made a cameo in Coronation Street alongside his girlfriend. Last year viewers saw a scheming Daisy trying to seduce Ryan Connor while he was in a relationship with Alya Nazir. Charlotte and Paul in Paris (Image: Charlotte Jordan Instagram) “They roped my boyfriend in because we’re shooting socially distanced,” she told The Sun at the time. “He’s not an actor but he grew up watching Coronation Street, so it was really fun just to see his little face when he looked at all the sets and stuff.
It was very sweet. It was lovely.” Before joining Corrie, Charlotte starred as Gaby Grant in two seasons of Netflix series Free Rein. Lockdown hit six months after filming on Free Rein and it wasn’t until the summer of 2020 that Charlotte was invited to audition for Corrie. Her role was announced in November the same year before she made her screen debut at the end of 2020.
But things could have been much different for Charlotte as she could have been a pop star. Speaking to the Metro, Charlotte explained: “When I was 15 and in my last year at school, I auditioned for a band that was being created by Simon Fuller and Geri Halliwell.
It was a development deal, which means we spent a lot of time bonding, doing choreography and recording songs in the studio – sometimes cool songs, sometimes naff songs. You just try to find your sound. “When they felt like we’d exhausted all options as a group, I was offered a solo deal. I did that for another two years and then, as I got older, I realised that acting was what I actually wanted to do and decided to go back to it.
Just because you can sing, doesn’t necessarily mean you should be a singer.” In the same interview, she revealed that her first theatre job was Les Miserables in the West End when I was around 12-year-old and her first TV job was an episode of The Bill.
