Is Ginny more mature than Georgia

Answered By: Abraham Baker Date: created: Jun 03 2023

‘Ginny & Georgia’ Renewed for Third and Fourth Season at Netflix The Wellsbury Peaches are here to stay for at least two more seasons. has ordered a third and fourth season of “Ginny & Georgia.” The streamer shared the announcement on Wednesday during this year’s presentation.

  • Created by Sarah Lampert, the dramedy follows Ginny (Antonia Gentry), a 15-year-old who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother, Georgia (Brianne Howey) in a New England town, where Georgia decided to settle down with her daughter and son, Ginny and Austin (Diesel La Torraca).
  • Jennifer Robertson, Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Scott Porter and Raymond Ablack also star.

In January, Season 2 ratings for the Netflix drama took down “Wednesday” for the No.1 spot on the Netflix Top 10 English TV List with 180.47 million hours viewed following its debut, making it the most-watched title on the streamer for the week of Jan.2-8.

For context, that means opening numbers for the second season of “Ginny & Georgia” bested Season 3 of “Emily in Paris,” “The Watcher,” and Season 5 of “Cobra Kai.” For context, Ryan Murphy’s “Monster” recorded 196.2 million hours in its first week of viewing and Season 2 of “Bridgerton” had 193.02 million.

In addition to the renewal news, Sarah Glinski has signed on to join series for Season 3 as showrunner, replacing Debra J. Fisher. Netflix tells Variety, Glinski’s appointment as showrunner took place prior to the current writers strike, which began on May 1.

  1. Season 2 of the drama was executive produced by showrunner Fisher and creator Sarah Lampert.

Is there a season 3 of Ginny and Georgia

Answered By: Raymond Lopez Date: created: Nov 03 2023

Ginny and Georgia season 3 potential release date: When will Ginny and Georgia season 3 air? – Netflix On May 17, Netflix confirmed that Ginny & Georgia will be back for a third season. But that’s not all: it’s been confirmed that we’ll be getting a season four, too! The streaming service took to Twitter to share the exciting news with a video of some of its cast members.

Raymond Ablack (who plays Joe) teased that there’ll be “a lot of drama” and “love triangles” in the upcoming seasons, while Brianne Howey, who plays Georgia, added: “I wonder if Georgia will beat those pesky murder charges.” While we normally would have guessed that new episodes of Ginny and Georgia could arrive by early 2024, all bets are off now that the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strikes have brought Hollywood to a standstill.

Actors and writers are fighting for better pay and assurances that artificial intelligence will not be used to replace them, meaning production on a number of films and TV shows has been put on hold until the complicated matter is resolved. This also means that guessing a release date for the third season of Ginny and Georgia is near-impossible, as there’s no telling when the strike will end.

How old is Ginny in season 1?

Chelsea Clark as Norah – Another one-fourth of MANG is made up by Norah, who is played by Chelsea Clark in Ginny & Georgia, After the events of the Netflix show’s season 1 finale, Norah sticks by Max’s side during season 2, although she clearly misses the other members of MANG.

Is Ginny & Georgia a true story?

A new season of Ginny and Georgia is finally streaming on Netflix, and it’s already on the fast track to being renewed for a third season. But this isn’t all that surprising because it’s arguably one of the best teen series currently streaming on Netflix.

  1. The series begins with a young single mother named Georgia and her two kids (Ginny and Austin) as they relocate to a serene town called Wellsbury with hopes of finally settling down after years on the run.
  2. But Georgia isn’t your ordinary mom.
  3. She has a very dark, criminal past that she can’t seem to escape from, no matter how hard she tries.

However, Georgia and her kids have finally settled in good in Wellsbury, and she doesn’t want to run anymore. So, she does everything she can to keep her past hidden. But things become complicated when her daughter finds out about a heinous crime she committed before they moved to Wellsbury.

Ginny and Georgia season 2 finds Ginny and Georgia at odds and not on speaking terms because of this issue. Also, the mother-daughter duo has their own personal problems that they have to deal with this season. Ginny still struggles with self-harm and has to deal with repairing her broken relationships with her friends and Marcus.

Additionally, Georgia is focused on wedding planning but still has to worry about PI Gabriel Cordova digging up her past. With so much happening in the teen series, you might be wondering if the writers have any source material to pull from, like a novel.

This wouldn’t be unusual because many Netflix shows are adaptations of other creative works. But is this the case for Ginny and Georgia ? Find out below. No, Ginny and Georgia is not based on a book. It’s not based on a true story, either. Instead, it’s original work written by a group of gifted writers.

This means we have no idea how the story could continue in a potential Ginny and Georgia season 3 because there’s no source material to read. I mean, we could come up with our own theories, but we won’t know what actually happens until the teen series gets renewed and the new season comes out.

Is Zion Ginny’s dad

Answered By: Owen Foster Date: created: Aug 04 2023

Ginny – Ginny is Zion’s daughter. Georgia gave birth to her when she was 15 years old, and Zion was 18 years old. Zion and his family were very supportive and Zion really loved Ginny, but after his parents requested legal guardianship Georgia ran away with Ginny, leading him to miss an entire year of her life.

Despite this, Georgia and Ginny eventually returned and Georgia arranged it so that she would raise Ginny largely alone, whilst Zion can freely live his dreams. Despite this, Zion still visited Ginny and Georgia often for taking Ginny to her grandparents, ‘Fryday/Fry-Yay’ and Ginny’s birthday. Zion loves Ginny, but is sad that he missed a lot of her upbringing, leading to him trying to be there more during her teenage years, even almost getting back together with Georgia to finally live together.

When Zion moves to Boston, which is close to Wellsbury, Zion lets her stay whenever she wants, and spends more time with her.

Is Ginny a spoiled brat?

6 /10 No idea why ginny is the main character If this whole show would have been about Georgia it would most likely be a 10/10. Street smart and outwitting them all. She has such depth to her character, which ginny, the lead, is missing entirely.126 out of 145 found this helpful.

I could do with less sexualization of teenagers, but understand the show is being realistic about the lives of teens. Georgia is a great character too as she is complex and interesting. This show is like a mix of Mean Girls, Degrassi, Gilmore Girls and then something more mysterious too.34 out of 39 found this helpful.

Was this review helpful? Sign in to vote. Permalink 7 /10 Ginnys behaviour really bothered me I’m not sure if this was the intention of the show for Ginny to come off this way but I feel half the time i love her and the other half I find her incredibly annoying.

  1. The way she treats her mom, and always sees herself as the victim in everything really bothers me.
  2. She thinks every time someone doesn’t agree with her that’s is either racist or they are in the wrong.
  3. She’s closed minded while also being open minded and seems to have this idea that everyone else’s life aside from her own is perfect.

She’s self centred and immature but thinks she’s the opposite. Again maybe this is the way she was to be portrayed because this is how a lot of teenagers can act, buy it often made her unlikeable and I often found myself not wanting to root for her. Either way I think Antonia Gentry did an amazing job and her acting is incredible, and I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing her in other things in the future.118 out of 139 found this helpful.

Permalink 6 /10 it wasn’t that bad but giving it a ten!? Warning: Spoilers Don’t get me wrong, this show is not terrible but 10 and 9? You guys are really comparing that show to a level of Breaking bad/Chernobyl and other ten worthy shows? Most of the time this show is filled out with cringy scenes and doesn’t make any sense (Cynthia just breaking into the office randomly? Georgia not facing any consequences after killing her two husbands and being this master criminal? There is so much stuff that doesn’t make sense that I would spend 3 hours just writing them down here), the flashbacks were the worst I’ve ever seen, the show is taking us 15 years back but the home looks modern? People also said that this show pretty accurately portrays teenage life and problems(?) but it’s not true at all.

I believe that to some sort of audience it’s a pretty good show but a 10?. Permalink 7 /10 Not at all what I was expecting (in a good way). This show surprised me. It’s more than just a teen drama. I appreciate the racially mixed casting and the delving into issues faced by biracial kids. All of the comparisons to Gilmore Girls are purely superficial and take away from the darkness that I felt this show did very well.

I think the casting was really well done. I say kudos to the casting of the “teen” actors. They all looked pretty young (they looked 20 instead of 25-30 like usual in these shows). If you are expecting something as light and fluffy as the GG, you will be disappointed. But if you want something entertaining with very dark tones and some pretty realistic teen characters.

  1. I’d say the target audience is teens/YA but I’m pushing 30yo and LOVED it! The ratings have taken a hit due to a Taylor Swift comment and from someone who loves Taylor’s music it’s ridiculous that no one can mention ANYTHING anymore without it offending someone.

Permalink 3 /10 Ginny Is Black when it’s convenient My issue with the show is with the actual daughter.

She complains about not feeling black enough but also not feeling white enough. However she is literally invited by the black students to hang out and completely ignores them. All black cast members besides the biracial daughter are treated like props.

  • The majority of her friends are all white and that’s pretty much all she deals with.
  • The only time she acknowledges that she is part black is when it’s convenient and used as a tool.
  • I found this extremely bothersome.
  • However I really enjoyed her mother and all the scenes that revolved around her.
  • It’s laughable that people think this show is diverse.

No it’s far from it and it’s insulting actually because race is literally used as a tool. Ginny ignores the BLACK KIDS completely. Ginny is self absorbed and acts like a victim. I would actually enjoy this show much better if you cut her out all together and literally just made the show about the mom.52 out of 72 found this helpful.

  • Lots of interesting storylines.
  • And they are tight.

It’s fast paced despite being 10 episodes long. There are few more storylines I’d love to see fleshed out, but overall it had me interested and excited throughout. It doesn’t trail too far down any political agenda. Instead it handles issues around identity, gun safety and mental health with nuance.

Which I appreciate. I’m pretty liberal, but I’m not interested in PC agendas being shoved down my throat in one direction or another. Real like isn’t that black or white. (No pun intended) Shows that promote them feel robotic and gross if they are too obvious. I hope it comes back for a third season.30 out of 42 found this helpful.

  1. In fact that makes the comedy the best aspect of the show: a bunch of really weird mid-late 20s clowny tapdancing actors acting like high schoolers.
  2. Storywise everyone needs a dramatic confrontation with everyone else.
  3. Just draw a diagram you will see.
  4. Even the little kid needs a relationship drama.
  5. Also, bedroom door locks have not been invented in this show, so everyone just walks into bedroom of everyone else.

Nonsensical plot devices, copious amount of drugs, alcohol, sex inserted into the story sprinkled with some political slogans and voila you have the recipe for ‘coming of age’ story. Not very interesting or creative. The writer ended up creating a bunch of cartoonish bipolar characters as the intellectually inferior friends to the ‘iamverysmart’ protagonist (apparently taking AP English and citing some movement in the 80s are very impressive feats).

  • And the mom is also verysmart, strong, independent and dangerous.
  • Imagine a generation of kids like Ginny: inflated sense of self importance, big ego and often overestimate their intelligence.
  • Not sure why some people try to inflate the internet ratings of this bad soap drama.
  • Would recommend watching only if you are really good at handling cringes.80 out of 120 found this helpful.

Permalink 9 /10 Good grief! All the Ginny haters need to read some Gabor Maté! All the people complaining about Ginny need to go read some Gabor Maté material, and learn to love their past teenage selves, in order to stop being triggered by a completely natural teenage response to how messed up her mom is.

Like I love Georgia as a character, and I can understand her motives for everything (survival) but at some point, like any trauma coping mechanism it becomes maladaptive. She has zero boundaries with Ginny, she is extremely emotionally immature in many aspects of her life, she never allows Ginny to have feelings about anything or confide in her, or else she (Georgia) goes and tries to “fix” things for her which places so much burden on Ginny.

So Ginny has to shove everything down, seems to have some form of alexithymia, so when she feels overwhelmed with feelings she can’t identify, nor share with her mom (or anyone for that matter), of course self harm is going to happen. I’m seriously flabbergasted at the lot of you that think Ginny is so awful and ungrateful.

Do you not understand that as a viewer you are seeing the full story, but Ginny doesn’t get to? And how absolutely frustrating that must be? Do you realize that Georgia is supposed to be the adult with the fully developed brain, and we should never expect teenagers to behave in ways that require full brain development? I mean the therapy session alone should be a very clear indication that Georgia has lots of work to do in regards to her own past traumas, and her refusal to do so or to allow any space for feelings of discomfort is spilling over into Ginny’s life and causing an entirely new set of traumas.

Aside from that, I found this show to be binge worthy. Yep it’s got controversial topics and some very gray areas for sure. But that’s what stories are for, to allow us to work out situations in our brains without actually having to live them out if we don’t want to. If you want to watch a show that is more black and white then this is not the show for you.

The time for working out things you’re not sure of, and for experimenting, is when you’re a teenager and you have (hopefully) a soft place to land – a loving supportive family. One that understands teenagers are supposed to make mistakes and be difficult.

If that idea makes you uncomfortable, please read the first sentence of my review again, and don’t watch this show til you do the thing. Also what a cliffhanger at the end of season 2! It will be interesting to see where they take it in season 3! Was it a double cross, and if so who was/were the mastermind(s)? I hope it doesn’t go with the cliche, and instead we see some sort of alliance between Georgia and Cynthia.

Georgia has had to fight tooth and nail in life just to dig herself out of a horrible upbringing. She did what she had to do, and I hope most people can understand that suggestions like “just call the cops” are almost never realistically beneficial or helpful in any way.

I truly hope there is some redemption and room for her to heal and grow in season 3. And I really hope that Ginny and Austin will get to benefit from that. Maybe there’s room to create drama with other characters like Nora, and to delve further into what so far has been surface level exploration of Abby’s, Marcus’, and Hunter’s lives.

I could see Georgia and Ginny being great assets to others’ struggles after all they’ve been through.41 out of 55 found this helpful. Was this review helpful? Sign in to vote. Something like a modern and diverse “Full House”or “Boy Meets World”. I finally gave in and figured I’d give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised by this show and binged it in a few days (sensing a trend here). It has a lot going on. It can’t decide if it wants to be Gilmore girls, Euphoria, Desperate Housewives or Firefly lane.

Despite so many plot lines, I absolutely loved this show. Kudos to Netflix because this is another solid show that I am saddened to have to wait for a season two. The cast is great (Ginny does get annoying after awhile, but she is a teen and that can be expected). The mother and daughter duo works brilliantly and both actresses knock it out of the park.

Is Ginny and Georgia appropriate for 13 year olds?

Kid reviews for Ginny & Georgia August 24, 2022 I am at a loss for words at the tv-14 rating. It doesn’t matter what your religion is, this show is absolutely not ok. there is so much sex, sex talk, and references. I only watched the first few episodes expecting it to get better but to my surprise it didn’t.

I won’t go into detail but there is a lot and it’s all looked at as totally normal. I cannot fathom how multiple people could watch this and think it’s ok for 14 year olds. The sexual stuff is by far the worst I’ve seen in anything with that rating, but also there’s so much drinking and it makes teenagers look horrible.

Not to mention the mother in this show, don’t get me started, she makes her child go on birth control, urges her son to sing songs about sex, teaches him to punch kids if the bully him, and is Totally ok with Ginny drinking and doing drugs, all while stealing, seducing men to get what she wants, and lying to everyone about everything.
