It is one more brand than during the 2022/23 and 2020/2021 seasons. During the 2021/2022 season there were 10 different kit suppliers, the highest amount during the last five seasons.

The Premier League is set to end a 25-year partnership with Nike and turn to Puma as its official match ball supplier. The English top flight’s existing contract with Nike expires in 2025. US manufacturer Nike had the chance to extend a 25-year partnership but negotiations failed to reach a positive conclusion.
The Premier League has now reached an agreement with German firm Puma to supply match balls for all its fixtures from the 2025-26 season. Puma currently supplies official match balls for Serie A and La Liga, as well as the English Football League, with its Orbita ball used in those competitions. Nike’s Premier League deal began in 2000, with the Nike Geo Merlin becoming the top-flight’s first official ball in the 2000/01 season.

We will see Adidas, Nike, Puma, Umbro, Hummel, Kappa and Under Armour on the Premier League pitches this season. In 2019/2020 there were eight different brands sponsoring Premier League kits, while there were six in 2018/2019, eight in 2017/2018 and ten in 2016/2017,
Adidas is once again the main kit supplier with seven teams. Arsenal, Leicester City, Manchester United, Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers will continue wearing the German brand. West Ham and Burnley continue to wear the English brand, but they lost Everton and Bournemouth. The blue Merseyside team switched to Danish brand Hummel, while Bournemouth was relegated to the Championship. Under Armour, Kappa and ‘newbie’ Hummel complete the list by each sponsoring one team.

Why haven t Chelsea got a sponsor
Chelsea won’t have a shirt sponsor for their opening game of the Premier League season. The club launched their new home shirt last month without a front-of-shirt sponsor after a three-year deal with telecommunications network 3 UK expired at the end of last season.

- Nottingham Forest are certainly keen to secure a sponsorship agreement and the situation regarding the plain front of their shirts is not one they had planned for.
- According to reports from the East Midlands, numerous deals have been close to being agreed but none have got over the line yet.
- According to, Forest chairman Evangelos Marinakis is holding for a £10m-a-season deal and was willing to start the campaign without a sponsor if his demands were not met.
- There has also been a restructuring which has seen the club only make two key commercial appointments in the first week of August.
- Former Newcastle managing director Lee Charnley has been brought in by Marinakis to help push a deal through.

In the early 1990s, English First Division clubs believed that a radical restructuring of football was needed if they and the game in general were to develop and flourish. So on 17 July 1991, they signed the Founder Members Agreement, establishing the basic principles for the setting up of the Premier League.

- Nike and Arsenal had explored an extension of the deal but it is thought the sportswear brand was unable to meet the club’s revised demands.

A spokesman for Arsenal said: “We do not comment on specualtion of this sort. However as previously stated we wre confident of agreeing a significant kit deal.” The club has earmarked 2014 as the start of a period where there commercial revenues would grow sharply after renegotiating deals with a number of existing sponsors including stadium sponsor Emirates.
Puma is looking to drive sales of its football products in Europe after focusing much of its activity around the sport in Africa, where it sponsors 10 teams as well as Cameroon and former Barcelona FC striker Samuel Eto’o. The business is looking to address a sustained period of under performance in western markets as it struggles to steal share from bigger rivals Nike and Adidas while also warding off the advances of US companies Warrior Sports and Under Armour.
A deal with Arsenal could see the Puma brand benefit from the Premier League’s global reach and should the club qualify for it next season the UEFA Champions League.

- Electronic Arts (EA) and Sky Media today announced a sponsorship agreement that sees the video game company sponsor Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage from the start of the 2022/23 season until the end of the 2024/25 season.
- The three-year, multi-platform deal was brokered between Sky Media and global media network mSix&Partners.
EA SPORTS FIFA – the world’s largest sports video game franchise – will appear right before and after each of the exclusive 128 Premier League matches per season broadcast live on Sky Sports, on non-live Premier League programming on the dedicated Sky Sports Premier League channel including On Demand, and across digital touchpoints including Skysports.com, the Sky Sports App and Sky Sports social channels.
