Will Robbie Williams be at Soccer Aid 2023
Robbie Williams was one of the founders of Soccer Aid – but he’s stopped turning out for it. The Unicef football match, which takes place at Old Trafford in Manchester, has Staffordshire at its roots. Robbie founded Soccer Aid alongside Stoke-on-Trent mate Jonathan Wilkes – and both played when it first started in 2006.
The match sees a team of England footballing legends and celebrities will take on a Rest of the World team. However, Robbie does still turn up. He is rightly proud of Soccer Aid, which has raised more than £75 million for Unicef since it started. In 2022, Williams instead sang his hit Angels at half-time of the match at West Ham’s London Stadium.

What soccer team does Tom Holland support
Tom Holland Says Being a Tottenham Fan Taught Him the ‘Resilience’ to Promote His ‘Horribly Reviewed’ New Show – IGN star Tom Holland says he learned how to handle tough times as a Spurs fan. During an interview with, the young British actor explained how being a Tottenham Hotspur supporter prepared him to deal with bad reviews for his recent Apple TV+ series, The Crowded Room.
“I think being a Tottenham fan is somewhat like being in The Crowded Room,” he said. “It has taught me resilience. Tottenham has never won anything and supporting them is incredibly difficult.” To say The Crowded Room has not been reviewed well would be an understatement. “It’s no secret my show has been so horribly reviewed,” he said.
“But I’m here today to promote the show and I’m still here. I’m very resilient. It’s a good quality.”
The show currently has a critics rating of just 31% on, with some calling it “an unwatchable mess” while others call it a “laughably poor murder mystery.”The parallel with Tottenham Hotspur is obvious to anyone who’s been a fan – the Premier League soccer club has had its fair share of ups and downs, most recently losing its former manager Antonio Conte back in March who departed after leaving some choice words for the players.Still, most English football clubs have similar stories at one time or another, but for Holland, it’s these ups and downs that prepared him for rejection as an actor.I’m sure will help, too, revealing in a recent interview that The Crowded Room “did break,”
Still, it’s not all bad – The Crowded Room currently sits on an audience rating of 89%. down from 94% when the Unilad interview took place. “I would like to say a massive thank you to my fans, and the people that have seen the show because we’re at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes,” Holland said at the time.
“I feel so grateful that I have a wonderful community of people that support me and are there for me, so I’m honored and really excited for the rest of the show to come out.” Want to read more about Tom Holland? Why is Lee Mack playing for the World XI at Soccer Aid 2023?
Soccer Aid is back and gets under way on Sunday night, with former world football stars and celebrities facing off against each other all in the name of charity. The fixture, which is taking place at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s home ground, will see an England XI, managed by rapper Stormzy, taking on a World XI coached by new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino. Lioness hero Jill Scott will captain England, while Olympic gold medal superstar Usain Bolt will skipper the rest of the world side. A quick look at the line-ups though will see a few head-scratching picks, such as comedian Lee Mack named in the World XI FC side, alongside the likes of Mo Gilligan and Ben Foster.
Mack has been selected in the World side due to his Irish heritage, while fellow stand-up Gilligan was born in London to parents of Jamaican and St. Lucian descent. Macj had previously discovered about his heritage in an appearance on the show Who Do You Think You Are? Wrexham stopper Foster, meanwhile, was born in Leamington Spa to English parents and has been capped by his country.
It turns out the former Manchester United keeper just wants to be involved! He’ll play the first half and will be replaced by UFC fighter Leon Edwards at the break. David James will play in goal for England. Speaking about his decision to play back in March, he said: “We’re really, really excited for it.
I think I’ll find it fairly easy because it’s kind of both of my worlds mixing together in a way. “Having played football for the best part of 20 years, I’ve jumped into this new sort of YouTube world. “I’ve already done a lot of videos where we’re sort of playing with YouTubers.
