Who won Royal Rumble 2023

Answered By: Roger Torres Date: created: Sep 25 2024

Cody Rhodes won the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble Match to earn a World Title opportunity at WrestleMania | WWE.

Who will win Royal Rumble 2023 predictions?

Men’s Royal Rumble 2023 favourites – The 2023 Royal Rumble has the potential to be one of the most star-studded in history. The rumoured return of The Rock will dominate headlines, with the Hollywood Star available at odds of 3/1 to win the event if he makes a return.

  1. The long-rumoured WrestleMania match between The Rock and the current WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns is the reason he will be the pick of many fans and bettors alike.
  2. Speaking of potential showdowns with Roman Reigns, honorary Bloodline member, Sami Zayn, also finds himself at odds of 3/1.
  3. Zayn’s ongoing storyline with Reigns and the Usos will likely culminate in some sort of showdown on the Grandest Stage of them All, but will it be with the Champion? The favourite for the event, however, is the returning Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes has had a date with destiny since he stepped back into a WWE ring at last year’s WrestleMania. His ascension was somewhat delayed following a nasty injury at Hell in a Cell in June, but his return will be one of the most hotly anticipated moments of the night.

  • It feels like a foregone conclusion that Rhodes will be involved in the main event on one night of WrestleMania, the only question is how he gets there and who it is against.
  • If a match between The Rock and Reigns is going to take place on one night, then it is plausible that they split the belts and allow Rhodes to compete in the main event on the other night.

If The Rock doesn’t return, then Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns feels like an obvious choice to main-event Mania Night Two, and Rhodes winning the Rumble is the quickest way to get there. Rhodes has been given the Triple H 2002 treatment, with video packages of his recovery hyping his return.

There are plenty who think this could be a red herring to play down talks of The Rock’s return, but the bookies currently think otherwise, with Rhodes sitting as low as 5/4 with some bookmakers. As it stands, the rest of the men’s field is quite far off the pace, with Seth Rollins fourth favourite at 16/1.

Previous winners Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar can both be found at 25/1, while Bobby Lashley is slightly more favoured at 20/1. The Rumble is notoriously full of surprises though, and you can never rule out a late addition swooping in for the win. Randy Orton in 2017 is a great example of this, with the Viper not even being considered by bookies or fans until the day of the event itself.

Is Rock winning Royal Rumble 2023?

Fans might not need The Rock’s WWE return for a five-star main event at WrestleMania Hollywood – Royal Rumble 2023 seemed like the perfect time for The Rock to make a WWE return, but it, unfortunately, didn’t happen. However, the company might have planned something better.

At the end of the WWE Royal Rumble, The Bloodline seemingly imploded as Sami Zayn and Jey Uso refused Roman Reigns’ orders, The drama will continue among The Bloodline members and will seemingly conclude at WrestleMania. Also, Cody Rhodes won the Men’s Rumble and will supposedly challenge Roman Reigns at The Showcase of The Immortals.

Who knows? The Tribal Chief could have two matches at WrestleMania Hollywood. What do you think about The Great One not appearing at Royal Rumble 2023? Let us know in the comments section. Edited by Neda Ali Thank You! GIF Cancel Reply ❮ ❯

How many Royal Rumble wins

Answered By: Geoffrey Adams Date: created: Apr 26 2024

WWE Royal Rumble records –

The record for most wins is “Stone Cold” Steve Austin with three (1997, 1998, 2001). Six other wrestlers have won the event twice: Hulk Hogan (1990, 1991), Shawn Michaels (1995, 1996), Triple H (2002, 2016), Batista (2005, 2014), John Cena (2008, 2013) and Randy Orton (2009, 2017). The No.27 entrant possesses the most winners at four (Big John Studd in 1989, Yokozuna in 1993, Bret Hart in 1994, Steve Austin in 2001). Only two wrestlers have gone from start to finish to win the Royal Rumble (Shawn Michaels in 1995 and Chris Benoit in 2004). Batista is the only person to win from the same spot twice, at No.28 (2005, 2014). Rey Mysterio holds the record for longest time overall in the Royal Rumble at 1:02:12 in 2006. The shortest time overall is held by Santino Marella at 1.9 seconds in 2009.

Why is The Rock not returning to WWE?

Neither Vince McMahon nor Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has made a real attempt to bring The Rock back to the wrestling ring since that Cena match because his schedule was simply too demanding.

Asked By: Hunter Davis Date: created: Mar 24 2024

Why isn t The Rock in WWE

Answered By: Dennis Green Date: created: Mar 27 2024

The Rock will not return to WWE like John Cena for one major reason, believes business associate Former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz recently opened up about The Rock possibly returning to the Stamford-based company amid the ongoing Hollywood strikes. As the Hollywood strikes started, rumors suggested The Rock and John Cena could return to WWE.

The Stamford-based company recently announced Cena’s return to SmackDown next Friday. He is also scheduled for other shows, including the upcoming Superstar Spectacle in India. Despite this, Gewirtz, The Rock’s close friend and current SVP of Development at his Seven Bucks Productions company, does not believe The Brahma Bull will follow in Cena’s footsteps.

During an interview with Ten Count, he claimed that in addition to The Rock being busy with several non-acting projects, returning to amid the strikes could hurt his image. “My mindset is if you’re an actor/performer, you know, typically doing TV and movies and that kind of thing, that it’s not a great look to then go on WWE and be performing while these strikes are going on.(.) I think from a legal standpoint, I don’t think there’s anything illegal or anything like that, there isn’t,” he said. The Rock will return to do one thing before getting inducted into the Hall of Fame, Chris Van Vliet believes. Check out his comments,

Why wasn t Rey Mysterio at Royal Rumble 2023?

Rey Mysterio Was Originally Supposed To Work The Royal Rumble – The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer (h/t SEScoops ) reported that Rey Mysterio actually was supposed to be part of the 2023 Royal Rumble before getting legitimately hurt in his match with Karrion Kross the night before on SmackDown, which forced WWE to shift gears at the last minute.

  • The choice around booking that Mysterio was supposed to enter but couldn’t isn’t without precedent.
  • Perhaps most famously, 1991 Royal Rumble saw Randy Savage fail to report for his number eighteen entry spot on the kayfabe premise that, after costing The Ultimate Warrior the WWE Championship against Sgt.

Slaughter earlier in the night, he’d fled the arena. (Some critics have speculated WWE also wanted to protect Savage as a rival to Warrior and set up their WrestleMania showdown by not having The Macho Man enter and get eliminated from the Rumble match.) There have also been a number of instances of someone incapacitated and replaced on their way to the ring for the Rumble.

Jimmy’s intervention was enough to help Roman Reigns in retaining his title. Following the clash, Reigns’ manager Paul Heyman spoke about the future of The Bloodline. “I don’t know. What will you do when the Earth blows up and we all live on Mars because of Elon Musk? Case in point, bottom of the third and you’re asking questions.

Why did Cody fail in AEW?

Cody Rhodes left AEW for a bigger role in WWE – When rumors began circulating of The American Nightmare leaving AEW for WWE, many explanations and theories came to the fore. Dave Meltzer revealed that Cody Rhodes left Khan’s promotion due to “money issues” and “fan reactions.” The former Intercontinental Champion himself delved deep into his motivations to leave AEW on a special episode of Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin,

  1. He revealed that he didn’t want to be placed in a gatekeeper role, a position he was repeatedly being placed in during the final months of his tenure with his previous wrestling promotion.
  2. Cody Rhodes also suggested that the company didn’t need him anymore.
  3. The bottom line is that, it was my baby, it’s growing up and people are having fun and it doesn’t need me.

Why I thought, it didn’t need me (.) I’m not being totally honest, maybe it did need me, but here’s what I needed; I did not want to be a gatekeeper wrestler. I did not want to be, ‘This is Cody’s thing, AEW.’ Some people look at it that way, not everybody does.

  1. ‘First program, they wrestle Cody, then they do Chris podcast.’ There’s a whole meme about it.
  2. I didn’t want to be a gatekeeper.” A Dolph Ziggler-type role in AEW that primarily involved putting over younger talent and bringing the best out of them in front of fans seemed like a dull option for Cody Rhodes.

Hence, he opted to return home to WWE, where he had plenty of unfinished business. Amidst a memorable trilogy with Seth Rollins, Rhodes suffered a torn pectoral muscle, He returned back in time for WWE Royal Rumble 2023, where he achieved the biggest victory of his career when he outlasted 28, excluding an injured Rey Mysterio, to book his ticket to WrestleMania 39. Has the rock ever won a Royal Rumble?

Main event – The main event was the Royal Rumble match, During the match, non-participants Kaientai ( Funaki and Taka Michinoku ) repeatedly and randomly entered the ring, and attacked the participants. They were thrown out soon after each time. Rikishi, the fifth entrant, dominated upon entering, and eliminated all except Grand Master Sexay,

Scotty 2 Hotty entered next, and the three Too Cool members danced in the ring until Rikishi eliminated the other two, and continued to dance. Rikishi eliminated the first to eighth entrants. The Big Boss Man, the ninth entrant, refused to enter the ring until Test, the following entrant, threw him in.

During Kaientai’s second interference, Taka was injured when he was thrown out of the ring, and sent to the hospital. Funaki continued to interfere by himself. It took six men to eliminate Rikishi. After Faarooq, the eighteenth entrant, entered, non-participants Mean Street Posse came out, and attacked Faarooq, helping The Big Boss Man eliminate him.

  1. Bradshaw, entering twenty-seventh, was attacked by the Mean Street Posse, and eliminated soon after.
  2. Faarooq came out and, with Bradshaw, fought with the Mean Street Posse backstage.
  3. The final four participants in the Royal Rumble match were The Rock, The Big Show, Kane, and X-Pac.
  4. The New Age Outlaws pulled Kane out of the ring, and attacked him.

The Rock eliminated X-Pac, but the referees were preoccupied with Kane and did not see this. X-Pac re-entered the match. Kane hit an enzuigiri, and a scoop slam on The Big Show, but X-Pac then eliminated Kane with a spinning heel kick. X-Pac hit The Big Show with a Bronco buster, but The Big Show eliminated him with a gorilla press drop, leaving The Rock and The Big Show.

Who won at WrestleMania this year

Answered By: Jack Miller Date: created: Oct 17 2024

Page 2 – The long-anticipated at, with six matches on the card. Here’s how you can watch and a look at each of Sunday’s matches. What : WrestleMania 39 Where : SoFi Stadium, Inglewood When : 5 p.m. Pacific

  1. How to watch : You must be a subscriber to to watch.
  2. Matches
  3. Undisputed WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes

Rhodes has never won the Universal title. His father, the great Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, never won the title. Ever since Cody returned to WWE at last year’s WrestleMania, his entire story has pointed to this moment. But will WWE actually take the title off Reigns, their consistently most popular wrestler who has carried the company the last three years? Will the Usos get involved, bringing out Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens? Will Jey Uso finally turn on Reigns? There are a lot of possibilities.

  • Will win : Rhodes
  • Should win : Reigns
  • Raw Women’s champion Bianca Belair vs. Asuka

The build to this match has been bizarre, with Asuka not doing much other than coughing up blue ooze. Belair is being positioned to be one of the main pillars of the main roster for years to come. Will win : Belair Should win : Belair Intercontinental Champion Gunther vs.

  1. Will win : Sheamus
  2. Should win : Gunther
  3. Hell in a Cell match: Edge vs. “The Demon” Finn Balor

Hell in a Cell matches are usually really good, and with Edge and Balor in there, it will probably be better than good. “The Demon” character has been well protected over the years, and Edge really doesn’t need a win here.

  • Will win : Balor
  • Should win : Balor
  • Brock Lesnar vs. Omos

Lesnar, the former UFC champion, is usually the most intimidating presence in any ring he’s in. But Omos towers over him and they have positioned Lesnar as being a little unsure of himself heading into this match. Expect it to build to an F5 from Lesnar.

Will win : Lesnar Should win : Lesnar Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya and Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green Just like the four-way tag team match on Night 1, this is designed to get more wrestlers on the card and give them a nice payday. It would be quite an upset if Rousey and Baszler lose.

Whatever they do, WWE should showcase Rodriguez here and make her the next challenger for Ripley. Will win : Rousey and Baszler Should win : Morgan and Rodriguez : WrestleMania 39 final results: Roman Reigns and Edge win, Shane McMahon injured

Who won the 2023 Money in the Bank

Answered By: Gerld Campbell Date: created: Oct 14 2023

Damian Priest Wins Men’s Money In The Bank – Sadly, Shinsuke Nakamura did not walk out to the Lil Uzi Vert remix of his theme song. Santos Escobar had in tribal warpaint that kind of made him look like the Latino Hamburgler. Once again, LA Knight was massively over, while Logan Paul received massive heat.

Both from the O2 Arena and the Money in the Bank field which pounced on Paul early on. They continued to gang up against him when he tried to climb the ladder. Everybody got the smoke from this crowd when they put hands on LA Knight, even Shinsuke Nakamura. Butch, who wore a matching PBR singlet with Ridge Holland’s gear from the night before, pulled out a cricket bat to an easy pop.

Logan Paul convinced Damian Priest to work with him by saying “you’re tall, I’m tall.” The alliance did not last for more than a handful of seconds after Priest yeeted Paul to the tune of “you deserver it” chants. Despite an impressive spot where Paul leapt onto the ladder and hit a Russian leg sweep on LA Knight, then followed up with a frog splash, he was met with chants of “you still suck.” Nakamura (accidentally?) hit a GTS followed by a DDT.
